Angel Reese missed layups but they get increasingly more ridiculous

Angel Reese has had a fairly impressive rookie season, but there is still A LOT of room for improvement in her game, ESPECIALLY in her ability to finish around the basket…
Fans are seriously questioning her basketball fundamentals as she has an atrocious ability to finish around the basket with efficiency.
She is shooting a HORRIFIC 40.2% from the field… and is even shooting below 50% on shots less than 5 feet from the basket and is shooting a TERRIBLE 13% on shots 5 to 9 feet from the basket…
Some of these layup attempts are REALLY bad, and a lot of these layup attempts are not even hitting the rim and she’s within 3 feet of the basket…
And it’s not something that has happened once… It has happened MULTIPLE times…
13 instances to be exact in this video alone.... So let’s get into it…

It's so funny how her stats don't fit your bs narrative. She's has 6 games with more OR than DR. But not only that out of those 6 games only 2 of which she had a lower than her AVG FG%. Because statistically you can't BOTH catch your own rebound and keep above your AVG FG%. Because if you were catching your own rebounds you'd also be dropping your FG% but let's talk about the record setting 223 turnovers clearing second place in the record books by 78. Which is more than Reese had all season at 75. Could she have gotten 3 turn overs in the 6 games she missed sure. But CC was a TO MACHINE

@@Dj252king I don't think she is below avg. She is putting up decently consistent numbers for a rookie. But there is nothing in her gameplay that is special or next level. I am not going to plan my day around watching someone grab 10 boards. 3-4 of her own. Boston wasn't great last year either. She was good and had a few moments but I wouldn't have put her on a pedestal. With Clark, I am trying to figure out what time she plays. The good ones make 2-3 great plays a game. @@Dj252king I don't if I would go that far Boston avg like 1 pt a game more, 3 rebounds less, and one more block and .5 assts more then Reese, and she won RotY last year. I haven't looked at any other rookie numbers. Neither one, are next level good. CC is next level, the whole league is trying to come up with strategies on how to defend her that is outside their normal defense, and they are having to hustle back on defense, which is similar to what Magic did.

In 24 games, AR has missed 109 layups, 163 if you include being blocked a record 54 times, shoots 13% between 5-10 feet, 75% from the line, and 20% from 3. Yet because she gets 12 boards a game is somehow ROTY. WTF!?

She has small hands, she can't catch the ball. Reese is just bad, she can't really move even though she’s mobile. 44% of her rebounds are offensive rebounds. that's nearly half. and is shooting 39% from the field. that means probably every single game, there's at least 2-3 moments where she goes up for a layup, misses, and her size allows her to just get her own rebound. That means she is objectively a bad basketball player. absolutely INSANE that they're considering her for rookie of the year when caitlin clark is legitimately lighting up teams with efficiency and great stats. the only reason Reese is a part of the conversation is that they can't allow a straight white woman to be the sole star of the WNBA, when really she is.

It's ridiculous that there was even a debate between her and Caitlin Clark. It goes to show how far behind thinking is about the women's game. It's like if there was a version of Jahlil Okafor who shot 38% at the rim and he was going up against current day Trae Young for ROY and somehow people were arguing that Okafor without the finishing was more valuable than Young because of "double doubles" and "rebounding."

Thank you!!! I’ve been saying this about her game since college. She’s horrible around the basket and has absolutely no touch. Whenever you speak facts about this girl you’re called a hater lmao. 38.5 EFG% with 76% of her shots within 5 feet is mind boggling. She has scored 381 points on 331 shot attempts, and 111 of those points came from free throws!!! She shouldn’t be an option on offense and she’d be in the g league or out the league if this were the nba. Her fans are delusional at this point…

The other night against the Fever, there were 4 minutes left and her team was getting blown out. Both teams put in their bench players but Reese was sent back out to pad her rebounding stats. lol. Her layups are as bad as it gets. But the worse thing about it is she attempts them instead of kicking it out to her teammates that can actually score. The selfishness in wanting to score but failing miserably is hurting her team. Like you said, what good are offensive rebounds if they result in nothing. Rodman, even while shooting 52%, still kicked it out.

It's a whole lot of shit the refs don't see they got a prolific passer in the that shuffles her feet every time she picks up the ball to pass and no ref has ever called the player out for it. The NBA is the absolute worst at violations, changing pivot feet and taking extra steps and people like you cheering them until they fall over...😂

Reese often does not bend her knees to jump. Many times, she has jumped off her right foot on the right side of the rim. She does that 2 step 2 footed layup. She has a great motor, but her basic foot to hand fundamentals leave her looking so uncoordinated. She would benefit from basics boot camp

Add on another 4pts from a set of free throws(you know she gonna get to that line EVERY GAME) and you're looking at someone who is severely inpacting the game! This is the power of a double double game! Here's the beauty and power of Angel.... She's doing that CONSISTENTLY! And remember.... SHE'S BEEN IN THIS LEAGUE FROM LESS THEN 1YR. She is not the only player who play like that in that league, that's why I only watch Caitlin games. Caitlin' skill set is above even the coaching in that league. A'ja and a few others are good but they don't have anyone else close to Caitlin's skill set. The WNBA as a whole is like watching jr high girls play.

You aren't being harsh enough, she pitiful in trying to shoot the ball. She also is not smooth at all in her movements. She has no flow. She got away with it in college, but this is the pros. And her thought processes are just awful. I'm saying right now, her teammate Kamila Cardoso is three times the player Angel is. Angel is all show and no go. And anyone who thinks that the ROTY race is close is taking some bad mushrooms, because Reese has no shot at winning, unless some phantom votes are counted.

I'm a fan, however she needs to work on her low post game! First, with her lefthand! She flips it up from shoulder hight instead of a basic layup.
