These are two extraordinary performers giving the performance their all. Why spoil our enjoyment with hateful and resentful sounding comments?
Again these two singers go together perfectly. However, in a concert presentation only so much can be expressed dramatically. Gheorghiu is in perfect concentration representing La Tosca. In the very beginning Cavaradossi m;ust be divided in his concentration, which gives rise to Tosca's momentary furry at his lack of attention to her, etc. etc., but no matter, a concert performance, vocally wonderful.
pourquoi des micros !!!! 2 méga voix de toute 1ère grandeur... c'est superflu ou la salle est nulle en acoustique. Le chef est un peu dépassé par moment ? mais un live excitant. la phrase ' qual occhio ', Jonas la chante en reprise d'un souffle et piano = tour de force !
ludovic Pasté Gheorghiu n'avait pas exactement une "megá voix"... Pas de tout! C'est certement une voix dramatique dramatique mais c'est une petite voix. J'ais la ecouté avec le piano et en concert avec orchestra et avec beaucoup des instruments elle ne peut pas se faire ecouter mais plus. C'est la raison parce qu'elle ne se´ra jamais une vrais Tosca.
On BBC2 I think it was Dec.26, 2011 they showed Tosca with Jonas and Angela, it was absolutely gorgeous and fantastic. I was in heaven and glad I was in Amsterdam at that moment

I enjoyed both of them vocally (above all) and also in terms of interpretation. Their technical steadiness is mesmerizing, two effortless and flawless performances. Tosca is jealous, but one just has to read the text to know she's being coquettish towards her lover in half of this duet. Most of her "jealous fury" means just what women often do when they're with their boyfriends. The two characters aren't in a really serious manner in this. This is a romantic duet, not a tragic one!

Angela is a good actress.Let her be, people .May be she fancies the guy and overact -a bit like a doll.And she , without intending, gives it a new reading.In the filmed Toska she does it properly .

Angela Gheorghiu is a singer of world class. However, here she embarrasses herself. She is near the border of being pathetic. Complacency is a tricky ghost.
