For a Martial Arts screen legend, Angela seems so sweet here posing for pictures. She seems so humble and appreciative. And her affection she shows for the children is very touching. I've always loved Angela ever since I saw her movies in the 70's. I was just a kid, but even then I had a crush on her. I'm sure every kid my age back then who saw her movies also did. She does really look great here. This video upload is of course six years old, but I had no idea she is, or was running a restaurant in New York's China town. I work not far from there, in what is known as the Chelsey area near the Village. But it would be hard to find her. Even today, China town is still a close nit community. I would have to know someone who knows which restaurant it is. And yeah - 40 people, that was it ? That is kind of sad. There should have been 400 people ! Even more. Anyway, I will always love Angela. She was dynamite back in the 70's. That girl could fight - and she was hot ! Angela is in a class all by herself.
Her beauty is timeless and she still is one of the most bad-ass Hong Kong cinema action stars around. I just wish she would come out of retirement....sigh...
No, her English is extremely limited. When I asked a question in English during the Q&A period, the Japanese host had to translate it into Chinese. I found this rather surprising as I understand that she lives in New York City where she runs/owns a Chinese restaurant.

Great to see this. I remember the first time I saw her (ENTER THE DRAGON) and was sad/mad when her character was killed off. Very talented and beautiful lady
Whitedragonawa, I'm guessing she probably didn't make a lot of money. For example, according to IMDb, Angela got a single payment of $100 for her role in Enter The Dragon. I bet that scene took most of a day to shoot, if not more than one day.
She doesn't look a day over 35!!! just think, she was in "Enter The Dragon" with Bruce Lee nearly 40 years ago! She looks better than girls HALF her age.
This is so sad. Only 40 people in the audience!!!! Quentin Tarantino should get off his ass and get a major film festival going in the States and show all her films with a Q/A after. Whats wrong with people. One of the greatest female film fighters of our time should not be running a resturant in New Yorks Chinatown. She should be on screen in films like Kill Bill kicking ass. she looks great and im sure can still kick and punch. 57 is not that old. What a waste of talent. A film legend.
What event was this? They must of had a film screening of some type. Im glad to see she is well. I just picked up quit a few of here films at my favorite Hong Kong film store when I visit L.A. They are all incredible Re-mastered prints too.
@msinthrop : Couldn't agree more. She is just AWESOME, and her movies beat the crap out of the computer generated snooze fests we sit through today. Angela, Moon Lee, Yukari Oshima, Kara Hui (sorry If I have forgotten any of your favourites, they're just mine) - Legends all. Oh well, I suppose there's always Mission Impossible ...3...4...10? Who cares or keeps count anyway? You're right - These women are movie star royalty, and should be celebrated as such the world over.

@msinthrop Yes! Why doesn't QT do something to get Angela Mao back in the cultural limelight. Look what he did for Pam Grier in Jackie Brown. I always thought Mao had unsuspected depths and could probably be a great dramatic star. Of course, she kicked ass like nobody in the 70s. I saw films like Deadly China Doll at L.A. grindhouses in the 70s and will never forget them.
