I love this video. I've got a bunch of fry angelfish now laid and being raised in a community tank by their parents, and though many of them have disappeared (just died or got sucked into fillter or eaten by other fish) there still are about 30 left and growing, and your videos gives me a great idea how long it's going to take for them to really start looking like angelfish. Thanks! I appreciate seeing that
I'm going to ask a stupid question so Ill go ahead and apologize for my naivety... What are those round things with holes in them in the bottom of the tank?? I see those used a lot when raising fry and have always wondered. Right now, I have guppy fry in a 10 gallon with mom, her bff and daddy in my 29 gallon. Do they just provide security for the fry? Decoration? What's their purpose?
Not stupid at all...😂. These are ceramic rings used as filterion media. I used them for viewers to get proportion of the fry size and they are also useful to house good bacteria even if not inside the filter.
Should they be isolated from the parents and if so at what point? And what do you feed them? I have some that are 2 weeks old in a tank full of fish. Seems like they are steadily dwindling. But theyve never even hatche before. Not sure what to do with them.
For best results, you should move the eggs as soon as the parents finish laying the eggs. Please watch this video as well- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wXp9hzck7vY.html
African cichlids, convict cichlids, kennyi cichlids, acei cichlids, electric yellow ladibocromis cichlid, bumblebee African cichlids, auratus cichlids. I like the convicts best but which fish would be better for survival and comfort I’m getting three you can choose different ones or 3 of the same. Thanks very much. More questions will come
Hey got a new question I’m going to make a video and show my fish in that tank and there personality I’ll tell you when I make it later today but can you double check I really don’t want my chiclids to be a problem in it
@@BlueSag20 please watch this video as well - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--AViy4SYbbs.html It's about guppies but it is the same idea for angelfish fry (except the food)
@@UriShasha Thanks, what do you recommend, I used Hikari first bites a month after started feeding BBS, fry started dying (several fry a day) until the entire spawn died out. Water parameters were normal. Possible genetics?
Yes, I gave away some and divided the rest to a few tanks. So, after 10 weeks I have left with 20-30. I can say that after passing the first week I don't think I lost any...😊. In the first week, about 20% died😣
Hi I have kept my tank running for 3 weeks without fish... I have a guppy with a spine disorder... Can I add that only 1 fish to tank to check whether the tank is all set to get new fishes from market
African cichlids, maybe a black convict, maybe electric yellow labidochromis, maybe bumblebee African, auratus cichlid, maybe acei, kennyi cichlids I’m only going to get three and I will get them small which ones should I get ,and keep in mind that I love vivid colors and the convict cichlids. again thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for your help. Tell me ones I should get based on survival and comfort please eating habits are easy I feed blood worms and flakes, thanks

@@UriShasha so the temperature is at 79f, ammonia is less than 0.25 (I couldn’t tell if it was either zero or between zero and 0.25) nitrite is zero and nitrate is zero. I do a 90%+ water change in the morning and 25-50% water change in the evening, making sure to suck up all the waste lying around as much as possible. I also feed about 1/2 teaspoon a day of bbs, 1/4 at noon and 1/4 at midnight. Idk what’s wrong other than If they were just born with bad bodies. A bunch are developing swim bladder disorder/ lying on their sides and breathing heavily, more each day. A week ago about one would die a day but now 6+ are dying daily... I have a 10 gallon air stone/pump in the 10 gallon they’re in and a newly bought small sponge filter. I did notice a week ago that the ammonia was at 0.5, which was weird cuz I have cycled filter media in there. They were all developing fine until last week when they were 3 weeks old. They’re still growing but lots are dying...
You have some very aggressive cichlids in this list...I think you should reconsider this...there are nice options besides cichlids like puntius denisoni, non aggressive sharks, kongo tetra, ....or adding more gouramis and angelfish. If you still insist on getting cichlids the most calm cichlids are yellow labs, blue acara and keyhole
