This performance is epic and will be a nexus point in musical history. With this performance Ms. Jordan has solidify her position in the halls of all the great musical legends of musical history, including Ms. Maria Callas Rb
To be sure, Angelina's performance of this song in New Hampshire was phenomenal. But, for me, this performance in Oslo demonstrates that AJ not only serves the song that she sings better than anyone else but she serves the occasion for which she sings it. This rendition, backed by KORK, rose to the importance of the event honoring Narges Mohammadi! It was unworldly!
She brings such depth and emotion to this song that it takes your breath away. I don't think you can sing this song better than Angelina and she is so beautiful that she looks like a Greek goddess
We are lucky to experience Angelina Jordan. She is already a young legend who gives us quality music with a vocal that is so rich that it cannot be described in words!
Like the analogy....this is like a "fairytale" and the best part, Cinderella is actually here in the persona of this Classy and Eloquent young lady before you, Angelina. Thanks for returning with Angelina C&R. This is the most beautiful version of this song I have ever ever heard in my lifetime. Cheers....🥰🥰❤❤
Thank you for the wonderful reaction. Her ability to move those who listen to her is absolutely incredible. What a fascinating and intimate interpretation of this mythical song, absolutely suitable for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way, this wonderful version of a fantastic song and so appropriate to the occasion, 8 years after the last time, in the same studios and with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps into her musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", a singer who has already sung on 2 different occasions at the Nobel Prizes and at just 17 years old.💛🧡❤
It will be the force of Ms. Jordan's persona and message, as well as her passion and dedication to her artistry, that will make Ms. Angelina Jordan's name synonymous with greatness. Rb
Mustafa, it is awesome to have you back reacting to Angelina Jordan. Angelina had a strong emotional connection for this event honoring Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.
By expressing her empathy and compassion for the awardees' two youngsters at the same age as Angelina, she made this song more than a beautiful piece with high notes. The Norwegian radio orchestra lifted the entire setting to an extraordinary experience - this orchestra suits so well with Angelina.
Hi Mustafa, I hope you're doing well! Thanks for your insightful reaction as always. When I learned the story of Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the history of the song "Unchained Melody", I fully understood why Angelina Jordan chose this song. It can't be understated that this song is VERY popular, therefore Angelina's performance will be listened to by more people. We need to be sure as many as people as possible will learn about Narges Mohammadi. Angelina paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness, is what Angelina always reminds us to do. Peace out.
Yes friend, unfortunately so much things happened at Iran our neighbour. Many people died or executed for seeking their rights. I hope everything will be alright for anyone in all around the world ❤️🙏
So elegant, classy and beautiful Angelina! She looks like an angel with her white, flowy dress! I love this young lady! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
What makes this even more special is that Angelina was asked twice to sing at this prestigious event. The first time was in 2014 when she was 8 years old. With this performance, she sounds and looks absolutely incredible! Her hair is kind of reminiscent of Priscilla Presley when you kind of think about it. So proud of her!
I was at the Portsmouth New Hampshire (USA) performance and was stunned when she sang “Unchained Melody.” I didn’t think it was possible for Angelina to eclipse that performance. I was wrong. Her Portsmouth performance will always hold a special place in my heart, but this Nobel Peace prize performance will be special too. Than you for sharing your reaction with us Mustafa. ☮️💜 🖤👣
@@coffeereaction Angelina has said she can’t wait to tour the whole world and sing for everyone. Be patient. If she performs close to where you live don’t hesitate for a second. There is nothing like a live Angelina Jordan performance. 🫶💛👣🖤
I can't choose between this one and the one you posted earlier, both versions of her have something.....but I had this time goosebumps from my hair to my toes with her last note.🥰❤❤
To me this is the embodiment of Divine Grace in sound. My only analogy, would be, to the likes of Ms. Maria Callas, The stature, the elegance, the enrapturing beauty. We all are blessed with the privilege of witnessing this history of Ms. Jordan's transformative artistry. Rb
Beautiful reaction, my S.T. friend (I think you know what the S and T stands for by now😊) I was still at work when your reaction dropped, and I see that our good friend Andy has added some vital information regarding the event, to put it more into context. If not, I would have done it. Angelina deserves it, and so does Narges and her family. Like you, I also prefer this performance over the one in New Hampshire, not only because of the better sound quality. And here she also totally NAILED the last high notes as well. But the overall grace here and the absolutely beautiful arrangement dethroned her New Hampshire performance IMO. If we don't speak before, have a wonderful Christmas 😊 Much love from Norway♥♥♥♥♥
The empathy and passion is for the RELEASE of a wrongfully imprisoned woman from or in Iran. Let's all pray for the woman who is on a hunger strike. Angelina may be her only Hope.
