Hello, beautiful Lorraine! I love this video. Never tire of watching/listening to it. I see that below, the angels have filled you in on the story, which I love. But it bears repeating that Angelina picked this song herself. Mom gently questioned her because it was a sad song, but Angelina went with her instinct, and even at such a young age, she was more than right. Then, singing the more positive, "Summertime," she finished wowing the world, and, definitely, winning the hearts of all of Norway, for sure. As for the judges, her a cappella audition number, "I'm a Fool to Want You," again by Billie Holiday, cinched for them any question about whether or not she was indeed "the real deal." My personal favourite from her is "I know I'm not the only one". Her voice on that one is startling.

Angelina runs the show from beginning to end. She picks the music, makes the changes, she decides where she wants to sing and she held out signing with a label until the one she wanted to sing for gave her the offer she wanted. Her mom also said when asked about "who was driving this career arc"? Mom said, "she runs this thing. If she decided tomorrow that she was finished with this, you'd never see us again"!

If you've never heard Billie Holiday sing this song you should give it a listen. Then you'll understand why the judges were so amazed.

Thank you for playing Angelina's debut on a public stage. Here she is 7 yo, but she wanted to debut several years earlier. She didn't get that as the artists had to be at least 7 yo. She competed against many adults and won in the end with 46% of the vote. She is never nervous but maybe a little shy. She has said that she prefers singing to talking.

The story is that Angelina couldn't get to sleep one night so she borrowed her mother's iPad and found a beautiful lady (Billie Holiday) and listened to her singing Gloomy Sunday. Angelina has always been hands on, in control of her music.

The one who introduced Angelina to Gage and all these songs is none other than her grandmother Mary Zamani. She is usually behind the camera and her uncle is on the production. In the song "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis at the beginning her name appears there 🦶🦶👑🗣🎙🎷By the way, the song talks about a period after the World War when there were many people who decided to commit suicide because of that, the last judge asked her, do you know what the song is about?

In her interview package for AGT, she shared how her Grandma used to play classic jazz all the time, that she became so taken with it she "couldn't get enough".. There's a video somewhere of going into a record store (yeah, vinyl albums) and she purchased a Billie Holiday album... So she grew up on this genre of music, and considers Billie her favorite artist .. the unique part is that at this young age, she became and remains enamored of classic jazz... Angelina decides for herself. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! Of course, all relatives and frends, have helped and protected her. Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. And this Norwegian girl sings in English! Do you know that she speaks several languages. When she performed this at 7 years of age, once you compare it to the original by Billie Holiday, when she was 29, it sounds as if the same singer has sung both renditions. This was when all the talk began about Billie being reincarnated in this young Norwegian girl. She then showed that the only way to describe her is by calling her a 'vocal chameleon', for like the lizard can change its outward color immediately, Angelina can do a similar change vocally to emulate other singers whenever she wants to.

There is something about a 7 year singing "The Hungarian suicide song" that brings a tear to my eye. Or maybe it's just her voice. Or both

Angelina has occasionally had contact with singing teachers. But not so much to change her self-taught way of singing, but more to learn how to protect her amazing voice. Angelina, 5-6 yo, attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, She learned to play piano, guitar etc. She has also learned to arrange music etc. She started singing when she was very young! Since then, she has trained an incredible amount. I have heard that she practiced several hours a day, already at the age of 4-5.

About Gloomy Sunday: Angelina herself has said, in an interview, that she knew exactly what the song was about! Do not underestimate her! Unfortunately, I do not have the link that proves this, but the evidence is out there in the digital world. She also explained, at the same time, that she is good at the English language. Remember, Angelina is special and much more mature than a normal child.

Angelina has stated that she chooses her own songs and that she arranges almost all of them.
