Angelina always brings a lot of emotion to her songs, but this one always hits a little harder. It also really shows how Angelina is not afraid to show her vulnerability to the world. Many artists would not publish a video as personal as this one, but Angelina is not like other artists. She allows us to see and follow her journey every step of the way. It doesn't have to be polished and perfect... that's what makes her so authentic, and it is what keeps us all so connected to her. She makes her fans feel like they have been in her house listening to her while she sits on the couch singing her favorite songs. It's not just her voice that draws us in... it's her entire character. She has such a beautiful soul.

I totally agree. Openness brings a lot of joy. But it makes you vulnerable. I wonder how she behaves when she is attacked. My problem is that I can hardly say no and every now and then I am getting abused. She as a wealthy superstar will have it way harder. Sharks will try to get their piece of a bite. I hope for her, that she is strong, can defend herself and does not break.

I don't know about the whole world, but I do think that she considers her dedicated fans as "family". And she rewards us by letting us participate in the ups and downs of her life. I don't know of another artist that does that. Just makes us love her even more!

We're all so blown away by the performance we haven't noticed how beautiful the visuals are. The lighting is amazing. A bright lamp in the background yet light enough to see Angelina clearly. The colour balance is soft and delicate. The framing is perfect. This has the intimacy that matches perfectly her incredible performance.

And how brave this girl was, in making such a personal performance, giving us the honor of witnessing her just as a person, and making us realize, through the song and its lyrics, and her voice, the importance of family and friendship bonds, which we often take for granted. I have always believed that singing a cappella was an extraordinarily difficult thing to do. I have noticed that Angelina begins many of her covers in this fashion and I've not heard anyone speak to this who is more knowledgeable. I find it an incredible trademark of her style, and it just highlights the control she has over her pitch. May fortune protect this young girl so that we may continue to accompany her on her journey.

This is a perfect example of Angelina's soul. Her grandad passed away and what could be, in her mind, the best tribute she could think of? Singing! A heartfelt, pitch perfect, emotional performance until she broke down. I can't even believe how intent she was to sing the whole song or almost, as a sign of love for her grandad. She's undoubtedly one in a million and not only because of her voice and sense of musicality but because she has a bright, luminous soul. As she's so young and her parents have limited her public exposure, her way of communicating with her fans has been mainly through RU-vid. So we all have to feel blessed she chose to share this very private, sad moment with all of us ♥ Thanks for your reaction, GreyWolf! Not a dry eye around here...

If you're not familiar with the story, I'll share that the lore around Angelina not wearing shoes when performing is that at age 6 she met a little girl her own age who was barefoot & whose feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes & “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” It harmonizes with her "old soul" gift with music

In this song the personality of Angelina comes out in a incredible manner for the overflowing emotion she manages to express by singing it in memory of her beloved grandfather and also the moment when she lets herself go to tears is incredible, in her pain she still tries to finish the song. And Ivan accompanied her on guitar in an extremely respectful way. 😔❤️ I've lost count of how many times I've listened to it, yet it moves me every time...

When you feel a song like she does here, it is hard to imagine that you can focus also on your breath control. To go so low, then higher on the same breath is quite amazing since your heart can play tricks on you. That is what happens at the end: her soul jumped in and blocked sooner her final breath. Death is everywhere in her life and in her vocal art, since her first songs, as a theme, as dedications, as tributes, and as her personal ennemy. And she is too young to win the fight alone.

This one is a toughie to get through watching Angelina's little heart breaking and making all of us well up tears. I agree that she owned great courage to make this video and post it to YT. But AJ has always had an unmitigated trusting attachment to the viewers on YT ever since she began exploring classic jazz on an IPad as a toddler. She also puts out the soul of her music unapologetically and without fear of criticism or displeasure. Such innocence and trust to share her moment of extreme grief with the world. Lessons learned from AJ.

You may be interested to know that Angelina is in the process of signing with Republic records as their number one priority new artist! This is a huge landmark and we all knew it was coming eventually. This label also has Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Ariana grande, Jonas Brothers and more. We hear that she is generally signing on her own terms meaning a good deal of freedom.

Interest choice of key. She's way down there in her vocal range, where diaphragm control is so critical, and she is like a rock down there. Whew!! So much talent. And she's making me cry, thinking about my dad.
