Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sony & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rs language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru RU-vid of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own. Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. .♥👣👸🏻🎷 She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London. Since winning NGT she has sung for celebrities and heads of state and some of the biggest venues all over the world. Regardless of her age, Angelina is amazing! I am full of admiration for this young girl with her outstanding voice, her completely unique choice of music and her passion for what she does. Sometimes, when I listen to Angelina, she hits something inside me, that makes my feelings overflow.

Angelina is the best singer in my 70 years, not because of her vocal range or any vocal pyrotechnics (which she has plenty of btw), but because she has such a unique ability to interpret the song lyrics and convey emotions to the listener. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. She entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Please read the bio I compiled for her. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RU-vid. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RU-vid went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RU-vid video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RU-vid. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On RU-vid, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. By that I mean that she employs so many different techniques, dynamics and ornaments in her performances that you would need to know a bit about singing to appreciate it. Angelina always does it so tasteful too, never overcooked. As you hear more of her you'll find that she adapts her style to the message and style of each song she does. From the top of my head, she's done Jazz (she's the QUEEN of jazz!), blues, soul, country, folk, RDM, pop, rhytm'n'blues, and even a smidge of rap. You have to check out Angelina Jordan *I put a spell on you* (9 years old.) Absolutely amazing. You would not think she's that young. But my favorite is *Im still holding out for you* recorded when she was 10 years old. This was a leaked version and never ment to be published so its not on her channel. This was a demo and was written by an artist called Baby Fuzz. Since Angelina wasn't gonna release this and never got back to Baby Fuzz, he recorded this and released this song himself. Theres been some stuff going on behind the scenes but all parties are now ok with Angelinas version being on the internet.
