Today it's Angelina's 17th Birthday and I wish her all the best. That was a nice reaction. If you want to react to another Michael Jackson cover by Angelina I suggest "Heal The World". She sang it live during an online royal visit of Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway to California (at age 15 I guess).

The only thing I noticed about the color choices of yellow, purple and red is that those seem to be the primary colors used in Michael Jackson's original video...or it may be just a coincidence. I think that Angelina also pays respect to MJ, the dancer, by her just sitting there with one arm crossing her waist...the biggest dance move by Angelina is her foot tapping.
I love Angelina's jazz performances and this re-reading of MJ is sensational. Her slow, rough voice on this song makes the lyrics that much more understandable and emotional. She instill an incredible emotional capacity in her voice which, added to her wonderful jazz inflection that always characterizes her, makes her truly truly unique. Only she could have thought of rereading this famous song in this way and creating such an emotional wonder. 💛 🧡 ❤
Great reaction, Josh. You definitely have to listen to her cover of "Heal The World", which she performed live on a stream arranged by the Prince Of Norway, during the midst of the pandemic. Talk about hitting base with a performance. And only Angelina could do it so beautifully and elegantly. You even get to hear her speaking voice in the intro. I thought at the beginning of 2022 that maybe we knew what she could do. Then I saw the opening number at the jazz concert MOUNT EVEREST I mean Labyrinth at a jazz concert....and then I heard what she did with it and was delighted to be surprised again.
Once in a while a well known artist covers another great artists track and we all go insane. If this was done by...let's say Christina Aguilera for example, it would go viral in a day....

Everyone had their own perspective of why the colors or why the 'storytelling' personna that she chose. She does what comes to her and she always honors the original composer and/or singer. There's no "trying to be artistic" she is simply herself and always gives more than we expect. She also doesn't hesitate to take on an icon .. because it's not a contest to her .. she just wants to sing and play with a concept etc.. I'm guessing you already heard her called a child prodigy and music savant/ genius. She's been that since a ridiculously early age. Re: icons ... she's done quite a few Adele covers (loves Adele), she's done Michael twice (the other she did is Heal the World) , she did a brilliant Elvis cover of Suspicious Minds just this past year .. and has done two versions of Whitney's I Have Nothing .. one at 12 and one just a couple of months back.
