I apologize for: the random blurs (this video kept getting blocked) if my translations when the judges are speaking are off...I think the subtitles were ahead and I may have translated something another judge was saying (I was a little confused).
You did great in that the judges, all four knew instinctively the gift displayed by Angelina. As long as you got the basics down that is what matters. AJ had ‘it from the beginning. Never gets old watching all the lovely peoples share with us her music. The more you learn we all can see how special AJ is. So if possible, please watch the interviews and videos with subtitles. Thank you 🙏
@@stevenhambek846 for me it is more than never getting old... I have heard it so many times yet am still hearing new nuances and appreciating her early genius more and more ...
Mom knows she will be sharing her little girl with the world. Hard decision to give your life for your child’s dream. She is a hero mom and Angelina is lucky to have her. ❤
Great reaction to an impossible prodigy.... just incredible vocal and musical ability, and calm assured poise.... the confidence with humility.... not sure I would have believed this possible in a 7 year old if I hadn't seen Angelina...
Genius = Angelina Jordan Exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability A person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative, either generally or in some particular respect A person regarded as exerting a powerful influence over another for good
Angelina always adapts the songs she covers adding her own musical interpretation, with one exception, Billie Holiday. She channels Billie note for note, nuance for nuance.
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Audions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on RU-vid before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Glommy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " 💯 *AJ* 💯 BTW, Angelina's mother Sara said in an interview when Angelina was about 11/12 years old, *only Angelina chooses the songs and she only sings them the way she imagines* . 🤗🤗🤗
Whitney, all your apologies were well received by all of us and it was easy to see how much you were into the video. Thank you for a wonderful reaction (yes, wonderful!) and I look forward to more Angelina reactions from you. I sincerely hope some of your loyal followers are discovering Angelina for the first time and, at the same time, her fan base (her 'angels') will be very happy to have you join all of us on her journey. Don't be concerned about saying the same thing over and over again when you are describing Angelina. The age varies, the songs are different, her voice changes but what stays the same is everyone's shock and delight when they listen to her and thusly, the praise she receives is never boring. All the catch phrases used to describe her are accurate and apply to each one of her performances and they speak the truth. Reminding us she is amazing, incredible, unbelievable, an old soul, etc., is like putting a cherry on top of the performance.
Angelina absolutely mind blowing, When Angelina auditioned on American Got Talent Champions, covering Bohemian Rhapsody aged 13 years old she received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi and straight to the final, Angelina’s version of Bohemian Rhapsody has around 110 million views, and is classed as the best audition ever on a talent show, and after Angelina’s performance she received a tribute message from Brian May and Roger Taylor congratulating her on a absolutely amazing performance, and the boys from Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina is one of if not the best vocalist around,I attended her live concerts in Norway this summer, Angelina’s stage presence was phenomenal her live vocals am amazing, great reaction thanks 🙏
Angelina was ready for this.. and anxious.. you can see her clench her little fist ready to turn and give the "Thumbs up" to get the track playing.. at the end, she holds that last note to the very last bit of breath her little lungs held... She wasn't a bit nervous and was "at home" on a stage, and a 🎤 in her little grasp... What came out of her overwhelmed everyone,... PRODIGY. PERIOD. The love of jazz was buried deep in her heart and mind, unearthed and nurtured by her Grandma who saw it. Adorable 7 yr old, with hair that had a mind of it's own, and a Smile complete with teeth joining the permanent, that simply warmed our hearts, and captivated us... She's going to be 17 yrs old Jan 2024.. "You musta been a beautiful baby, you musta been a beautiful gal, when you were only startin', to go to kindergarten you musta had a beautiful smile... You musta been a beautiful baby, cuz baby won't you look at you NOW"... Old song, but very applicable now... This young woman is capable of taking your breath away, churn your musical emotions, and admiration brims out of you.. exquisitely masterful even then.. easy to be at a loss for words, and we can only use what we have.. they seem inadequate because there's no way to encompass her vast talent and endearing, amazing self.. all that is Angelina Jordan, our Barefoot Angel 😇😇😇 Fun reaction!! 🎤🎵🎶🎹 PEACE🙏🏻
She was the last audition and she stood there strong and confident. Most 7 yr old would be tired, sleepy and cranky but not Angelina. We are talking about a clear headed genius with a golden voice. Watching this again made my eyes water and my soul filled with pride. Thank you Whitney for your reaction. Many of us has felt the same as you did about Angelina.
The blonde lady watching the performance on the monitor is Angelina's mom Sara. She said later that she knew then that she was going to have to share her daughter with the world. Great reaction. Angelina is on her own level for sure!
@@WhitneyReacts Yes, her mom and sister Juliette. Also, there at AGT were her uncle Michael (her manager) and her grandma Mery (who is a well-known artist in her own right) who, more than anyone, introduced Angelina to jazz from a young age. We are in her debt. Angelina has said if there wasn't a Billie Holiday, there would be no Angelina Jordan.
@@WhitneyReacts Yes, it's her Mom and her little sister Juliette... and also her Grandma Mery, who was/is Angelinas greatest inspiration for singing Jazz!
I'm excited to see your reaction to this one and no worries about the subtitles. It doesn't really matter who said what, the important thing is what they said collectively.
Please treat yourself to the next 3 performances on NGT. I’m fine with jumping around and being teased with her videos at any age, you can’t go wrong, but don’t overlook Angelina at ANY age. If you want help changing your socks, check out Suspicious Minds from this year age 16. Love your commentary! Take care from Alaska
Pure talent, an outstanding performer, AJ is a prodigy .No doubt about it.A totally and complete professional artist. Since so young....God bless her. Thanks for the reaction
Omer the judge that interviewed her a couple of years after this when visiting his friends the Jacksons at Christmas time he introduced Michael's mother to AJ's singing.
AJ learned jazz as she learned to speak, it is a native language for her. She has been immersed in it since birth. All the inflections, intonations, cadences and other expressions are instinctive to her. She does not really even need to think about it (although she clearly does). So, the judges' assessments are correct in more ways than many understand. Then there is the raw intelligence and emotional sensitivity that she exhibits. Not to mention the multiple languages and instruments that she is proficient in. Truly a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
Billie Holiday is her all-time favorite singer. She used to go downtown in Oslo to a jazz vinyl store and pick up albums to listen to. The emotional authenticity is what really gets me every time. Great reaction. I'll recommend a more recent performance now, her cover of Elvis's Suspicious Minds. Whitney I'm so glad you got your technical problems worked out! Hopefully it will be smoother going forward as youjump down this rabbit hole. Angelina had three performances on America's Got Talent The champions. Bohemian Rhapsody, yellow brick road, and someone you love. Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction to Angelina. Your response was not surprising! Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy. She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. The answer may bring a tear to your eye. When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Spontaneous and very good reaction. I follow Angelina daily for 3 years and I think that her skills and evident genius remind me a lot of Christina Aguilera and her precocious and genius skills. They were born in different times, different countries and with different life stories as well. The genius of both moves me in the same way. Angelina is brilliant and is set to thrill the world soon.
Just accept the fact that Angelina was the best child singer in history. Not only can she give you Billie Holiday at 7, but she covers other styles perfectly and with her own style and embellishments. Also in this same competition-try her cover of Bang, Bang, the Cher song also made famous by Nancy Sinatra. It’s completely different, and Angelina’s version in my opinion is better. Honestly. Then watch her take in this NGT competition on Summertime. She was channeling Billie earlier, but she’s actually singing jazz, with her own style, at 8. She won NGT, as you know. Her AGT performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, at 13, might be the best live performance I’ve ever seen. Now, at 16, she is easily the best singer I’ve ever heard, and she still covers many different genres. Want to see what she can do today? Watch her mesmerizing cover of Elvis’s Suspicious Minds. It’s stunning.
BEWARE! This is quite a long comment. Hi, Whitney! Thank you for another great reaction to Angelina. I am delighted that you are continuing your journey of discovery, and I'll be with you every step of the way. The question you posed as how a 7-year-old child can sing like this exercised my mind for a long, long time. I just could not get my head around the fact that I watched and listened to a wild haired little girl, with a "gappy" mouth because she had lost her baby teeth, who walk on to a stage with no show of nervousness and then open her mouth and sing like a 50-year-old black woman who had been singing for years. Realistically it was unbelievable but, you know what, I believed that I had discovered a genius and have held that belief ever since. And, how did I resolve the question "How was this possible"? Just by accepting the fact that it was Angelina, as no other word is necessary. I have never, in the past and I doubt I ever will, find another singer who is so talented and versatile. Angelina just put out a wonderful Spanish song and I think she was able to do this so well because she has always had a fantastic ear and the ability to control her voice to fit any genre.
Here are the tracks for Angelina's performances on NGT. The first video differs from the one shown here in that it contains pre and post content. It also has English subtitles throughout. Watch this first one on your own as it's truly endearing watching little Angelina make several attempts to get in the chair for her interview. She's just that tiny. We also get to see her mother, father, 1 year old sister Juliette, and her grandmother at the end of the clip. As for the other 3 performances, NGT2 shows a little more of the judge's panel, but no comments. ----- As for her final performance, NGT4, there's a lot of content you should watch and react to. It has English CC included. It begins with a spotlight on Angelina throughout the season, along with her speaking about her experiences on the show. Sitting on an adult sized bench, her feet are sticking straight out. The spotlight transitions to her singing "Summertime". Immediately following the performance, we get to hear each judge telling her how she has impacted them. I return in my mind to these comments again and again, as they are quite prescient. Following the judge's remarks, the video jumps ahead to the naming of Angelina as the winner. This last segment takes about 5 minutes on its own, so some reactors keep it while others don't. 7 year old Angelina goes on stage barefoot to remind her of the orphan girl she gave her shoes to when she was 6 years old. Even at such a young age, Angelina says things like children are very important to her. She speaks of love and caring for one another. Here is a summary of Angelina's book, "Between Two Hearts" published when she was 9 years old, making her Norway's youngest published author. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Please shop at Angelina's merch store on her website angelinajordanofficial and give the best gift this holiday season by introducing people to Angelina and her music. It will change people's lives for the better.

Yes, do them both AGT performances, stellar! Blur with some kind of filter right from the start and pause some to avoid copyright issues... You won't have these problems with her private videos on both of her own channels (AJ Official and AJ Cover Channel), but you have to take care with these corporate things - still they're definitely worth watching, some of the best vocals on the internet today... Thanks, this was a great reaction! Peace and love from Germany 💗 PS.: You might be interested to check out her rendition of "When You Believe" as you recently heard the great duet by #KristinaMadrigal and #KatrinaVelarde... B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and S-O-U-L-F-U-L (as everything she does...) - not these crazy acrobatics Kat & Kris do, but still a heartwarming cover... there's also a longer fan made video (Kaleidoscope RMX) with a bonus ending (AJ didn't sing the whole song,..) which is WH & MC's original vocals (they use the original soundtrack throughout) matched with really beautiful images and scenes from Angelina's journey from the beginning... That video goes under the title "Angelina Jordan - rise to stardom"...

Again Nice reaction. I have been looking the performance of Christina Aguilera at age 8. To me there is a huge difference .When I look and listen to miss Aguilera I see a little girl singing, well coached for sure with a voice , but it's sound artificial. The mimics, the attitudes , everything seems copy of an adults , and I must say it makes me uneasy. I have not this reaction listening AJ, since it seems absolutely authentic, natural to her. Of course the influence of Billie is there , and yet she puts her own mark. I truly believe that she is apart from all the young singers with have known until now. One thing you should know is this. When AJ has entered her school of music ,her mother refuses that she was vocally coached , she didn't want to see her voice altered by the choice that the teachers could have made. The school agreed so AJ was train in music theory and instrumentals practices. Daring request but in the end , a good decision.
That was a bold move from her mom. But so many can lose their raw talents and what makes them unique if they’re “trained”. I could see her getting some coaching to help with breath control or something just to improve her ability to sing but her vocals don’t need any help. A girl I went to church with had a really nice voice, and then she started with this vocal coach, and I don’t know what she did to her, but she ruined her voice and it made me so sad
@@WhitneyReacts I do agree the role of a coach in protecting the voice , in giving some tips and probably she have had. But with such a voice, and I dare to say it, genius , this should be the limit.

If you compare Angelina singing this to Billie Holiday's rendition, you will think that the same voice sang both songs. This is when all the talk about Billie being reincarnated in this 7 year old girl. She then went on to prove, over and over again, that she is a 'vocal chameleon' who is able to emulate the exact vocals of many, many top singers. Unheard of at any age, but to begin doing it at 7 is beyond belief.

This is a stupid-late comment, but I have to say it: The biggest difference between Christina's SS audition at 8 (which I just watched) and Angelina's NGT audition at 7 is that Christina was acting (to be specific, acting like a sex pot), while Angelina was just singing (and really feeling the song, not pretending to). X's performance was kind of creepy, but even if you set aside that aspect ot it, it was more of a "stage performance", sung "at" the audience rather than "for" them. There was no subtlety to it. She might have sounded better than your average child singer of that age, but the _manner_ in which she sang the song was exactly in line with the worst stereotypes of "child singers": trying to act like something they are not, and coming off as having no real emotional connection to the song. A's performance was surprising, yes, but not inappropriate, and not "an act".
How can you say a 7 year old was acting like a “sex pot”? That’s an *odd* choice of words to use you describe Christina’s performance 👀. She was literally a CHILD…if you know anything any Christina’s story, music was her escape from the abuse she and her mother and sister were going through at home. Chances are she mentally transported herself somewhere else when she was on stage…she wasn’t “being sexy” she was performing.
@@WhitneyReacts You agree that she was adopting a certain persona for the performance, correct? She was playing a character. So, how would you describe that character?
@@WhitneyReacts So how would you put it? I really am interested. I could have chosen my words more carefully, I suppose, but they still would have amounted to the same thing. I find it a little strange that you are reacting so negatively to my words but you don't seem to have any negative feelings about the performance itself. Do you not see anything inappropriate in the way she performed the song?
I have a playlist of Angelina videos to react to. They include her NGT & AGT performances and a few other recent covers. I’m just working on Christmas stuff right now. I’ll probably have an Angelina week (or 2) in January
Yes... possessed. BUT NOW she is on her own merits and potential devices going forward.... may she move AWAY from LA. Maybe relocate to Nashville, or back to Oslo???
I *know* you’re not trying to tell me what to do in my own videos on my channel 😀 I’m a singer myself, and I like to try to figure out how singers do certain things with their voice.
