I highly suggest reacting to the video Alan Papier posted on his channel, which gives the background story of why Angelina always performs barefoot and then he plays her new song, "Princess of Ruins". Angelina said at her Vegas concerts, performing barefoot is her identity and that will never change. I believe understanding backstories of an artist or a song add a lot to how they make us feel. She is a young living legend! Many see her as the best young female singer and versatile artist we have today! The entire music industry knows who she is, but she steers at her own pace towards unstoppable success and greatness. She is already an artist for the big occasions with e.g. The new FIFA World Cup's official anthem, in addition to several major performances. Like few artists, she has performed for the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 8 and 17. She is 18 today.

I enjoyed your thoughtful analysis, Michael. I was a huge Elton John fan as a teenager in the '70s. I've never found another artist whose work resonated with me like that until I found Angelina Jordan. Hearing her arrangement of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was a special treat for me. The third performance from this show, Someone You Loved, is also worth a listen.

As it happens, all the 5 first finalists are given a contract with him. So it makes kinda sense that Angelina would end 6th on the show. That being said, a LOT of people regard Angelina the real winner of the show. I may be mistaken, but I think a dog show did win the whole thing. Yo, Angelia Angels are known for letting roll every video to the very end and appreciating reactors who do the same ;-) About videos of 14 year old Angelina - this might be a difficult task, for the pandemic hitted hard in 2020 , esp regarding public appearances. The only videos I remember are the lyric and studio versions of "Million Miles", and "Above the Water" (which is actually only acoustic).

I adopted "derelique" as the description of my fashion sense (my personal definition: basic clothes, maybe with a lil extra drape cuz that's comfy, BUT NO HAND-WASHING OR DRY-CLEANING permitted, mostly neutral colours or black, but basic blue jeans appreciated, bonus points if you can find stuff you're gonna be able to do a half-assed job of mending any super inconvenient tears, WEAR IT ALL TIL IT FALLS OFF YOUR BODY). I doubt my definition of derelique style would fit what was intended in the high fashion world of Zoolander but the word was too perfect for me to pass up.

I remember that in a longer video version of this performance Simon Cowell asked Angelina in a very serious manner that does she really understand how good she is. I think Simon doesn't say those kind of things if there is not something very special in the artist. Angelina didn't answer anything. Some people claim that Simon offered Angelina a big record deal in Sony Music but Angelina and her family turned that offer down. I don't know if that is true or not but a little bit later Angelina signed a record deal in Republic Records and it was the CEO of Republic Records personally who made the deal with Angelina and her family.

AGT Simon First, and foremost; Angelina was not on that show to win. This was quite simply to promote and expose the US public to this prodigy that comes along maybe once in a generation. To win, AJ’s family would have had to sign a contract with Simon, and he would have been in control of her future. Her family would not allow that to happen. It was not question of money offered because AJ was already worth 2 to 3 million at the age of 13, and her family are very wealthy. I am sure America’s Got Talent was paid well by her production company Stargate, the hitmaking duo (Beyonce, Rihanna, Sam Smith). David Foster tried to sign her in the past after she won Norway's Got Talent, but the family did not like the contract. She is like nothing we have ever experienced. People, wake up to reality; do you honestly think for one moment that a talent like Angelina Jordan if competing on AGT would not win if it were legit? AJ is a talent like no other in this world at this time. I am astonished at your naiveté!
