Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. They teased a song at a special event called Bad Valentine and it should be coming out within a few months. This collaboration is awesome! The Piano Diaries is Toby's project of other singers singing his most famous songs. Angelina of course is singing this song made famous by Beyonce. Gad is a German music producer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. He is known for co-writing songs including John Legend's biggest hit, "All of Me", the fifth-highest certified single in RIAA history, and for co-writing and producing "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie and "If I Were a Boy" by Beyoncé. Toby Gad is a multi Grammy award winner, songwriter and producer. Many months ago he made contact with Angelina and his plan was to put out an album this year called Piano Diaries. He wanted to remake 8 of his famous songs that had been done by legendary artists and have them sung by other artists who are rising and aspiring. Angelina was selected to do this song, originally made famous by Beyoncé, as a single, and the album should be coming out sometime soon. Toby is also working with Angelina on a new original which was previewed a couple of weeks ago. They are working on others as well and there is speculation they are working on an album. In my opinion, the difference between this song done by Angelina versus Beyoncé is substantial. Beyoncé is a huge star in her own right, and she sings this very smoothly and sharply. It is a totally different feel. However, Angelina does as she always does and makes it soulful and emotional. I feel that is missing from Beyoncé's version and thus I actually prefer this. Says a lot!

You are correct JND, This is not a cover, folks keep saying its a cover of Beyonce'. Beyonce's version was a cover of Toby Gad's song. Angelina performed it at the Request of the writer Toby Gad who wanted to reinvent a bunch of his songs for the piano diaries series, He chose Angelina to sing it and he supported her on piano, He didn't ask Beyonce' because Angelina's version is much better than Beyonce' So Im glad you pointed that out that this isn't a cover.
