The idea of Angelina recording 14 of the recent best songs is genius. Many of them would be from Adele and more from Sam Smith, both of which are ideal for Angelina's style. But how about Angelina singing Ma Cherie Amour? I'd go for that! Day drinking on Monday = classic. It's the music.

I've often said that Angelina's voice is like this constant moving Force within her and she opens her mouth and regulates how it comes out. I'm surprised you didn't mention the vibrato and her voice when she carries that "for" note, and then that long refrain where she doesn't take a breath shortly after that. This is one of The Tick Tock post of hers that I keep coming back to over and over again.

Great reaction to one of my favorite vocal snippets from Angelina, Ellis. I really love your approach to reaction videos and your unique perspective. You have just spent multiple minutes trying to figure out the unknowable - "What is the magic of Angelina's voice". Fans and reactors have been trying for years to effectively articulate what it is about the character of this young lady's vocals that penetrates and soothes the soul.

She plays Piano as well she might be accompanying her self here. Your both great. Would not surprise me if her first full Album (since Its Magic when she released when she was 12) contains covers. She as only released 2 originals under Republic so far though she released 3 prior originals.

I managed to see your reaction before the copyright fairy makes it disappear... She always communicates emotion but the dynamics and rasp on this one exceed top level!

Beyond phenomenal the way Angelina performed this song. I remember one of her regular angels saying to Rusty that nobody should try and take on this song by Adele not even Angelina. I remember thinking to myself never underestimate Angelina because she knows exactly what she is doing and her renditions are always better than the original artist. Adele’s 1st album was “19”. She is 34 now, so yes she was singing professionally 7 years ago.

Yes, you might be biazed, but this song is not modern other than it was written by Adele. Style and mood is very oldstyle jazz. Angelina takes it to another level. Crazy chills every time I hear this.

I expect Angelina could get the rights to any song UMG has contracted. People have said she is Republic Records’ top priority, demonstrated by Rob Christie’s involvement with each of her releases, even when RR does not put their name on them (i.e. Suspicious Minds).

I'm Firmly convinced that the day will come (Not TOO far in the future!) when songwriters will be sending AJ their best songs and Begging her to perform their work!

Love your reactions. I wonder why I like her very early songs, maybe because she had this🎉 authentic, innocent appearance. You should listen to "bang bang". She was about 7-8. Sometimes when she seems to forget how she appears, for me, she sings SO GOOD, like in this song "love is a game" She is amazing anyhow, but I sometimes fall asleep when she is very slow

She did this and many other tiktoks without any piano or accompaniment of any kind. I found it shockingly exquisite. Then, I believe it might have been Rob Christie .. put the piano on several of these bits and pieces. I love them both ways. This song is an Adele .. as you could probably guess. But oh my .. does she do it magnificently. I wish we could still hear it without any background .. just to compare .. but here it is now and I don't think you can hear it on its own .. at 4 am or who knows .. There is one video that is a compilation of many pieces of fabulous songs that's truly worth seeing. It is over 40 minutes long. I have seen one reactor do the entire thing and it was mind boggling .. I would love to see you do it. The only reason it's hard when you cut it up so much (because I do like hearing what you're thinking) is that I miss is her emotional through-line. These bits and pieces are truth .. it is Angelina in the middle of the night, working through her loneliness and her desire for love and all those 16 year old feelings but with such passion and depth that we could think it was performance. I personally don't think it is performance .. I truly believe it is Angelina .. untouched by us. That is probably why I loved it so much when the piano or guitar or whatever they chose to put behind them came on. I still love them and get her passion, don't get me wrong .. but without accompaniment you truly feel the truth of it .. the feelings of a young lady of 16 and alone in the middle of the night. Since you mention the piano, did you notice Angelina’s occasional glances down? I believe she is playing the piano accompaniment. The piano appears to pause once or twice until she glanced at her hands.

That sounded really nice and it does bring back memories from my earliest youth though it was in fact from when I was born. I know you don’t think too much of your own voice, but do you sing along when you play it privately? When it comes to albums, I’m guessing they’ll combine recent originals with new originals and add some iconic covers she has done. What I am hoping for is a triple: a live album from the recent live concerts, an album with originals both new and recent and an album with covers. I agree most artists are happy if someone covers their work really well and she surely does that! But just idle speculations really :-) I am thinking she is recording these sessions as she practices at home with the piano to play back to see how it worked out. Sometimes she posts these little tries. A recent ‘try’ she posted, Sam Smith dropped in to express his appreciation. These little experiments are already so good and she never just seems to la-la-la a song but makes me feel the performance. In this type of recording with simply a phone, there is really no hiding anything. It gives me a feeling that she could be sitting just across the room singing this to me.

I love Garfield, discovered him when I was in England for a language training, about 38 years ago... Monday day drinking seems to be fun, maybe I should give it a try... here in Bavaria we're only drinking beer during the day, every day, not just Mondays, but beer is considered food here, not a drink. So 'day drinking' would be something like Vodka in the morning, but a beer for lunch is just normal... not for me though, I'm preferring other drugs, music and the likes... have a great day and enjoy it! Do you know this song? Dude, you know this very _performance_ of the song. You reacted to it back in January.🙄 As for "sobbing away to this", that just happens to be _exactly_ what I did the first time I heard it. This was actually the second AJ performance that did that to me, after "When We Were Young" from her 2019 Prøysenhuset concert (which you've also already reacted to). Those aren't the only times I've cried listening to her, mind you. That's happened several other times. But I've only been _reduced to a sobbing heap_ twice. And in each case, it wasn't the emotions in the song itself that got me. And it wasn't even the emotion she was putting into her singing, necessarily. It was simply _how well_ she was singing the song. I know that's so simplistic a statement as to be nearly meaningless… but it's kind of the only way I can explain it without going into multiple paragraphs. She just (IMO, of course) sang those two songs *so friggin' well* … 😕🥺😭
