As you said, this is pure Angelina. It is nothing like the original, she replaced out all the swearing with her own lyrics & threw in those ad libs where she is using her falsetto to converse with the guitar. I really hope she does more of that in the future.
Her mentor Billie Holiday always spoke of trying to emulate actual musical instruments and that's exactly what AJ is doing here. She has fully absorbed all that is Billie Holiday and it is that foundation of musicality that separates her from all other singers.
Changed up some of the less wholesome lyrics, greatly improved the upper register part (making it more intricate and actually beautiful), threw in some of her own jazzy flavours, and layered her own amazing, unique and complex voice over everything...in other words, she totally Angelinarized the whole thing, producing a short but fabulous, beautiful final product.
Angelina cleaned up the lyrics as you would expect, took out the mention of a gun and any swear words. Also she used her vocals to emulate some electronic sounds in the original. Basically turned something I personally would not listen too into something I am happy to hear. As usual great reaction, thank you.

This is the Kongsberg JAZZ Festival and like you, most listeners love how Angelina revitalizes the jazz of the old days - many say she is an echo from the past, but that doesn't do her anywhere near justice. This is the opening number of her 2022 concerts (the first after the COVID-enforced break), and what a surprise! Here you can see she is a child of our times and just as capable of interpreting contemporary music as the oldies, as "Mount Everest" was three years old at the time (it was released on Labrinth's second studio album in 2019 and entered the charts only in 2022 when "Mount Everest" was featured in Euphoria TV series). Labrinth is Timothy Lee McKenzie's stage name, an English singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He has been referred to as "one of the most important British musicians of his generation". Labrinth has worked with numerous artists as a songwriter and producer including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Kanye West, and the Weeknd. His production work on the Weeknd's album Beauty Behind the Madness earned him a Grammy Award for Album of the Year nomination (and this is not his only Grammy nomination). Labrinth himself was able to create some of the sounds in this song only with electronic help - Angelina did not need this help.
Paul, have you ever listened to Angies cover of "Love Is A Game"? It's a cover of Adele's. She was 15 and its a TicTok and only about 2 minutes long. I would suggest you listen to the labyrinth version just to see how she adapted all the synthetic sounds from the original which is highly synthesized or engineered which is probably a better word for it
