You are correct. Angelina has a gift. You can build on it, you can develop it, but you cannot create it by training. This why you "hear" good singers , "feel" great singers and are blown away by singers like Angelina. Unique and wonderful.

Few people (reaction videos) give her credit for her amazing repertoire of songs. This young and can remember all the words to these songs is an amazing talent in itself. She is spectacular, stunning, magnificent and a great talent. In many of her performances she does the arraignments also. WOW! Just wow!

Totally agree with your comments. I taught for thirty years and on the very rare occasion you come across someone like this...they have a presence and capacity that is mind blowing.....Let's just be thankful for the joy and privilege people like this give to us all....
Consider that a 4-5 year old girl is choosing what songs she wants to sing and bye the time she is five and a half is rearranging the songs learning English and walks into a sound booth at six with her written words and records “I Who Have Nothing”. Listens to Jazz on Utube at two and three. Asked her Mother at three to appear on AGT, only to be told she is too young. Walks on a stage at seven and conquered Norway. By eight she is rehearsing bands and directing them as to how she wants it done. All this while going to school, appearing around the world in charity events, recording covers, learning piano, violin, flute while Mom and Grandmother watch and record. Somewhere in here she has been taking voice lessons, learning to read music, somehow taking in music theory and thinking about writing songs and learning lyrics to a hundred or more songs. Must be some little girl. Not possible. Right. Well it was and is. From six on you can feel every word she sings. It resonates within and moves you. To those who do not see or feel it. You are really missing out.
I think she might be the greatest jazz singer who has walked this earth. I have heard them all and seen many of them live. But the emotional understanding she has and the way she puts it across is extraordinary.
I have commented generously about Angelina. This is because she is unbelievable, especially considering her age. She sounds like she was the original artist, Dinah Washington. I have always loved this music, my Lord she is so gifted. Can't stop listening to her. BRAVO! ENCORE! Thank you for reacting to Angelina's music. Her timing is incredible, truly so gifted, just terrific. What does this 8 year old know about love? Love between a man and a woman, precisely what this music is all about. Yet, she performs this as though she has experienced this very adult kind of emotion. UNBELIEVABLE! No matter what anyone might say about Angelina, she is gifted, PERIOD! A day without her voice is a day lost! Because I have always liked this song, she had rekindled my love for this favorite. Don't you just adore her soft vibrato?
And then there is of course this one! Definitely one more of those I`ll never get too much of. A favorit of the highest range of mine. You are very right as you say she is spesial. There are a number of great performing kids, but surtenly Angelina is something else. I think it is never about the performance with her. What do the performance take to be great or even outstanding? That`s not the question for Angelina, I think. It is the song. What does it take from me to do the song the best way I can do? How can I make this song stand out, and comunicate it in the very best way to the audience? I`m not saying 7-8 year old Angelina do such a reasoning on her songs. But I guess it comes naturally for her to focus on the song this way, and not necessarily on her own performance. I think she would not choose to sing many of the songs she does, if she was all about her performances. All about herself and her singing career. She IS a singer, and she loves to sing. But I think; - to her singers sing SONGS, and so she focus on the song, what it takes, and what it demands from her. As we so often see/hear, she strips her performance down, and its like she is saying; -"to do this song, less is more" or; - "This song really needs me to go for it, all in, and use all I have". I honestly think she is a natural in understanding music and singing, and she was schooled by all these classic souls, as she picked up on techniques and different ways of using the voice. I'm 74 years old and have heard all kinds of singers of all ages but I am at a loss to explain Angelina. The first time I heard her sing I broke out in goose bumps. I've listened to her over and over since! I can find no words to describe her sounds and the use of her voice. It's almost like she uses her vocal chords like an instrument she has mastered but even that seems to fall short in my estimation to describe her. I have to say I agree with you 100% when you say she's a gift to us. I don't care a bit if others think we're off the wall.
She has a rare vocal genius. There are child prodigies in many fields, art, piano, mathematics, physics, but I've never seen one with this kind of vocal talent. Some young kids can belt out songs, but what she does goes much deeper than that, as you so eloquently put it. Don't apologize for running out of words to describe her, it is the only way to properly give tribute.
Angelina enters your soul and takes you with her on a beautiful journey through her music. I don't care if others think so or not, I do believe she is a gift from God. To affect so many people in such a positive way while the world is in such turmoil, she must be.
Thank you for another heartfelt reaction to Angelina. I agree with your comments regarding it not being possible to "teach" a child the skills that Angelina has. Like many of her fans, my introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7 year old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven year old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were Baby teeth. This little girl wore a white dress, which suited her, but was not wearing shoes. So, I did see what I expected to see. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She didn't look at all nervous and confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. She declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday, and that set me back on my heels!. She then gestured off stage for the technician to start the music and started singing. The body of the 7 year old was still there but the voice wasn't. She sounded like Billie Holiday, for goodness sake. Her phrasing was the same as Billie's. She didn't rush the song. Neither did she fumble for the words or stop to wonder whether she was in tune. There was absolutely no sign of nerves. In fact, she could have been alone on the stage and yet in some way she was not only in control of her own performance, she commanded the attention of all in the hall. This old man (I was just short of 75 at the time) has never been so impressed with a singer of any age. To me she is the very best. It must be remembered, however, that she is the hardest taskmaster on herself. Although she has an inborn gift of being able to instinctively understand a song and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. My parents were musicians. I wish they were still here so they could hear this beautiful voice of Angelina. They would have loved her as much as I do. Her voice just pulls you into another world.

What A Difference A Day Makes is one of my "reserved" favorite songs of all time. The music, the words, the background singers, and Dinah's attitude ! I could go on and on. Angelina owned that song just like Dinah did. But, hey, don't forget that band and those backup singers. They also did a superb job.

This is one of the most phenomenal performances ever, and it’s was done by an 8 year old. The texture and nuances of her voice cannot be learned. She is a prodigy the likes of Mozart at about the same age and trajectory of artistry. People try their whole lives to be an artist of this quality without success!
Greetings, You could say that she is also minimalist in her approach to singing, no obvious unwanted frills or flounces, just pure emotion and the natural timbre of her voice, she can carry some of the most difficult with ease and some of the most simple songs she adds...soul. Be safe.

I think someone from the higher powers decided to give a gift to humans, and then figured out that cramming the singing soul from a dozen of the greatest singer there ever was into one girl would be a nice thing to do. That so we could all just be deeply touched by the wonderful world of music in a time of trials, and be reminded that there is a world beyond.
I know most of the songs Angelina has sung. Many of them I hadn't heard in decades. When I heard her sing them, it's like hearing them for the first time and falling in love with them all over again (even though I didn't care for them one way or the other before). I've suddenly become a fan of jazz classics written more than 70 years ago (sometimes more). sung by a little girl. It defies logic but I love it.
It's clear, Angelina Jordan's knowledge of composition and experienced vocal expression AT THIS AGE is leaps and bounds above the generation before her. When kids beeing coached you can tell. This is different. It's organic. She feels the music very deeply inside of her. You can't teach that. Beeing on stage seems to be her comfort zone. It's uncanny. Absolutly a born gift.
It's hard to find words. She is truly ethereal, celestial and any other word that might be remotely related. It feels like she has been blessed by the highest power with an old beautiful well worn soul that finds its way into every crevice of our being. You are spot on Grey Wolf.....I have followed Angelina from Norway’s Got Talent.......and this particular song after listening to it 5 times , rewind, rewind rewind etc I started singing it in the shower.....my normally faithful dog who waits outside the shower for me took off running downstairs and I swear she said to dad “Mums dying or something in the shower” So, I shall leave the singing to this amazing, talented, unreal, can’t believe it still, can’t describe her enough “gift from God singer “ 💕💕
Her diction is also incredible-especially for her age and for English being her third language! Many kids her age round sounds over so much the word get lost.

This is a jewel! It's my go to performance when I feel a little tired, gloom, worried and it immediately brings me such a sense of calm . ♥ I agree 100% with you. Nobody can LEARN this kind of musicality, a sense of timing and deliver these classica likes if she was walking in the park!!! No matter how many hours of training, classes, somebody takes, they'll NEVER sing and perform like this. Period. Sorry, one more thing. Singing is not about belting as high as you can, not even getting the notes perfect. It's about the connection the artist develops with her audience and Angelina has bucketloads of that.
Imagine you're an experienced vocalist been singing for 30 years and the concert director tells you your going to sing back-up for an 8 year old. Yes sir, she's absolutely a natural, born this way to give to the world beauty, joy, and hope that we all need today and every day.

I couldn't find my ass with both hands at that age, and there she is, already a polished professional. Her musical intuition and instincts are brilliant and flawless. I agree, Wolf, she is a transformative talent. I'm an old guy, but hope to have several more years to enjoy the wonder and beauty of Angelina.
When asked on "The View", Angelina was asked what does she do for fun. Angelina answered "singing". It would seem to me that if her parents forced Angelina to sing and spent money for hours and hours of training then her parents wouldn't be turning down 90% of record labels and even Disney. All I know for sure is that her parents are letting her live a life as close to a regular kid as they can; and not throwing her to the music industry until she becomes more mature.
She is channelling masters, something like that. I feel that she represents the new new new era we are beginning! The "star"-thing will be not as egoistic as before. Like Angelina. it just comes from someplace. There is hardly an EGO presented in her performances. It is so light, so natural. so effortless. Also her name "Angelina", an angel, refers to that. Do not worry: she will remain like that because she represents the new era of the World.

When Angelina is so identified with her source of inspiration, she leaves me absolutely amazed, when she performs in this Norwegian festival "Sing-along at the Border", at the Fredriksten fortress at Alden, near the border with Sweden, almost every year, she really gives her best, you see that she has a good feeling with the environment. How is it possible that a little girl (in this case at 8 years old) is so incredibly emotional and talented as a professional singer to completely involve and fascinate the his audience. It's simply fantastic, when she closes her eyes she really seems to be in contact with Dinah Washington. 🤗 Angelina often participates in this event and you will see that there are several of her performances over the years, always beautiful. I'm an 83yr old fanboy of Angelina Jordan! I believe I have heard almost everything she has done. In the history of the world no one of any age has sung this song any better. She is the best singer at age eight and will be the best at age eighty. Phenomenal girl and phenomenal person. Thank God I am alive to witness this.
