Every time I hear Tom's voice, whether it's in AVA, BCR, or even solo albums, I always thought it's Blink-182 I'm listening into. He has that unique voice that makes every song great.
It's only the guitar riff in the beginning. It's just his style of playing and song writing. An artists songs are always going to sound similar sooner or later.
The Geeky Gamer Or the Emo Hipster Matt is a good guy and a friend of Tom too, but dude, hes a really boring man, he has no charisma, he almost cant play easy riffs and sings like a robot without feeling, his vocal range is ok, thats true, nothing more. Hes just playing live shows with Blink to help Mark, Travis, the producer and the record label to win money. Just the business, thats why they are using the name Blink 182.
To be completely honest going through all of these years of hiatus and now i realize that most people actually like Tom other than Blink itself. We like Boxcarracer and AvA and all this Skiba thing is just annoying but all the things Tom do everybody seems to like it. He was the soul in Blink.
This song makes me so happy yet gives me a melancholic feeling. It reminds me of living your best life as if there's no tomorrow. But time passes by when we don't even realize it. We still try to live the moment though, no matter what comes in our way. We need to have hope. This song is like a message to me that says, "Everything's going to be okay."
Everyone is so negative. Jeez. This guy is loaded with talent and he wants to do something different, something inciteful. Sure, he's got personal problems.... but who doesn't? I love Tom's stuff. It's different. He's not trying to live in the 1996 - 2006 era.

I was a freshman in 2006 and I don’t have a lot of clear memory’s much anymore lol but I clearly remember waiting on my bus in the morning jamming to this on my mp3 player. It’s like I can remember how dark the morning was and the smell and feel and everything! Wild but anyways I love this song!

Disney movie upside down magic cast just did a cover of this song in 2020 today. It brought back memories of listening to the original song in 10th grade.

Yeah, I had talked to him before, and he was super nice. I mean as for his contributions to the band, meh, but as a band full of great people, he was right along with them.
I think that the Neighborhoods album and Dogs Eating Dogs EP sounded a lot like Angels and Airwaves. I think it was because of them coming back, and Tom being used to AvA and just getting back into Blink.
God, I miss this lineup/era of Angels and Airwaves. I-Empire was the perfect album. What I wouldn't give to experience this album for this first time again. Musically, it was a whole new experience for me.

Calm down guys. Everything's Magic was made in 2007. So from this point, it's "When I was young" and "Disaster" who are similar of it. But yes, Everything's Magic have also the same riff that Anthem part 2.
One of the most underrated arrangements. Very rare to find a piece where every instrument fills a unique niche that is utterly indispensable to the overall sound, but is also so tight that you can't add anything without upsetting the delicate balance of the whole. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one other piece that fills that description.
Tom is seriously a master songwriter. Dude knows how to make music full of energy that makes you feel like everything is gonna be alright. Angels and Airwaves makes me feel like I’m about to get ready for the biggest adventure of my life whenever I listen to them

So Tom said in a Instagram Live video that he wrote this song for Shrek 2. He was asked to make a song for the film, he said Shrek is a magical film so he made a magical song. He said his producer and someone else had an argument and obviously his producer lost the argument and the song was never put on the film.

Everyone bitching sound go and watch his documentary called the pursuit of tone. It gives a great perspective into Tom as an artist. He even admits he wishes he could have been satisfied with the success of Blink but he is not the type of person that can just stop evolving.

This was the Angels and Airwaves dream team and easily probably the best stuff they have written and will ever write. The feels that it gave us was untouchable and unstoppable. I know for me it felt like anything in life was possible.
