This is a Movie within a Movie: Angels With Filthy Souls
a Angels With Dirty Faces Parody seen in Home Alone movie.
The movie that Kevin watches on video tape is not a real film, but footage especially created. It was called "Angels With Filthy Souls." Along with other similar era references in the movie, this is a play upon the movie Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) starring James Cagney.

Interesting fact: Ralph Foody the man who plays Johnny (The guy in the chair) originally was gonna play Snakes (The guy who gets killed) but due to him recovering from a knee surgery he couldn't keel over and fall down to die.

Those gunshots sounded awfully weak compared to in the actual movie and Johnny's laugh was much more maniacal. Not to mention, they excluded where Snakes falls to the floor and Johnny kept shooting and laughing when he was already down.

Spot on analysis. Way better editing for the movie. This must've just been a rough edit that gets straight to it. The movie version also had more dramatic use of pauses in dialogue and better line delivery.

They also cut out all the cluster f-bombs and the part immediately after where Acey comes in and dances on Snakes' dead body.

Ive caught onto this too... like this was an early take n yet it's what the DVD had as an extra feature... strange. Still cool no matter what but I wonder if it was different from they used in the VCR or if the dramatic effects were added entirely in post production?
