The default emotion is fear (and is the safest emotion), and anger works to warm your muscles and break the flight and freeze responses, by motivating you away from that fear. Anger provides you with the energy and motivation in order to respond to stimuli that produces injustices caused from fearful events, like loss, annoyance, and grief. Anger is not a negative emotion. If you are not calm enough to focus and use the rational part of the brain when angry, you will most likely conclude that it is negative from your experience of that emotion, because you associate it with loss, be it control or the physical aspects of a fight.

Your right and I constantly struggle with it to this day I've tried and am trying to repress my anger so much cause I'm now 18,and I'm a big dude so now I know I have to keep my emotions in check or I'm the bad guy I'll end up screwing my life up so I'm afraid to feel anger ever. That po st where she says everyday feels like a war,but in just fighting with myself,hit soo hard

Same,I try to repress it soooo much cause it does nothing for me,but cause pain that because if it,I fear it

I think I have anger issues...i hurt people that i care the most mostly and i have to control myself even hurt my body to not do something to people. My words are hard and i know that if i didn't control that emotion it would be not only words...
