Angles The Measurement Automatic Watch Review 

Interesting, thanks for bringing something different to show us yet again. Having said that, for about 1k USD, I can think of many more watches I would be tempted with before this one.

Peter, You have hit the ‘nail on the head’ with this homage to Gruppo Gamma Nexus. In fact as you deducted, the (Nexus version) has a pointer at the hour end of the hand for legibility as well as the window for numeral isolation. If the Angles team were thinking and designing a better iteration, they should follow your analysis, change the strap width for wearability, reduced/change the buckle, redesign the hand shape to easily register the time, especially in the luminous mode, and install a no-date Selita movement. In other words, Make it their own. Form, function, and engineered outcome have been waived for homage piggy-backing at a similar price to the GG Nexus. But in saying all that, it’s an interesting standalone piece helping show Time Travel in an intellectual way. Thanks Peter!

Nice to see that micro brands are pushing the industry to be “different”. Although the box makes it difficult to see the hour (good suggestion about that pointer!), this one’s more legible than the Botta UNO 24 on which I have my eyes to review. I think you're right Pete. A pointer to the hour for us who's vision is not as clear anymore. I'm not so sure that I'd spend $1000 on the watch when there's so many other's I would rather spend my money on. But I enjoyed the video as I always do and it's nice seeing something new and different!

Congrats Peter... I like your format of presentation. I really like the 3rd one - number #3 - from Angles watches... I like weird and unusual watches... You have to make a presentation of an accutron 2020 spaceview... I like your approach and will like your point of view.... Keep it up... Wish you the best for next year

Very cool piece! I like your idea of the other end of the hand being a pointer to the hour. But the box design they have is cool too.

I really like the old school field watch/flieger aesthetic and the rocket hand looks cool. It sort of reminds me of the hands on the Omega Alaska Project/Mars Moonswatch. Even the price doesn't seem outrageous (provided it's AUD), though it's a little out of my price range. 👌

Wow Peter....when I first saw the thumbnail I thought this should be interesting with a Gruppo Gamma Nexus review but hey ho looks can be deceiving.Blatant knock off but is anything safe nowadays from artistic interpretation...I guess not.Saying that it would be nice if you could get on the GG Nexus ND02 in Damascus steel as it's also well specced and roughly the same price.......thanks for the review and have a great day.

Well mate, I would like to address what you said in the introduction. I don't per se reject watch because they are different. But when essential design aspects are subject to the goal of just being "different" to the extent of function following form, what I think is true here, the watch is most likely not for me. This clunky and phallic single "hand" doesn't do anything for me sadly.

I think the tan strap really matches with the teal dial. I'm not so fond of the 'hours' text on the hand though. It's kind of obvious... 🙂And no date, that's good! Overall a really nice watch!

Intriguing, but the hour digit is upside down for half each hour, and 6 and 9 might be easy to confuse. If the hand stayed still and the minute track rotated around it, that would work better. Great photography as always 👍

The time telling complication is interesting and clever. Not sure I like the huge rocket hand, not sure it fits the overall aesthetics. Although I see the functionality of it needing to be long, not sure it needs to be so thick. Also kinda a wild idea, what if you had an inner cyclops crystal over that opening on the skeletonized hand for the hour. Maybe that would aid hour legibility of marginally. Might need to raise that box crystal even more to get that under. Interesting none the less.

It looks awesome! I would change the strap to one that tapers a lot though, im not a fan of the panerai style straps

Thank you for sharing Pete, I like the original design, however for me the watch is just a tad big, legibility of the hour may be an issue for my older eyes (😖), and I believe the price should be more around $700-$800, at just about $1K I feel there may be other choices warranting close attention. Since it doesen't have a second hand I feel it should/could be a quartz and smaller and cheaper. But very interesting watch.

Have to agree. Being an older guy a pointer to the hour would make more sense.

Interesting concept but let's face it, the classic setup has proved itself over 150 years and can be read at a glance from the corner of your eye. :)

Still, not for me, somehow drives me nuts. If only it had some "play" on that hand set, don't know... a motorcyclist riding around the Death Barrel? That'd be awesome! Thanks Peter, be well mate.

Sorry Pete, but Gruppo Gamma did this design first. It's one thing to homage established luxury brands, it's another to homage a microbrand.

I like how watch look, but the amount of fonction you get for the price is very low. I'd rather pull out my phone once in a while or just look at the sun's position like a warrior

It's cool but I think they WAY over priced it. Sorry, there's no way I spend $1k on that, a new brand, solid but cheap movement, and 52mm lug to lug! Come on! I can't speak to quality but that's a hard pill to swallow. Can't blame them for swinging for the fences but that's an easy pass at that price. At around $600, possibly take a shot on it as it's unique, but can't at 1k.
