Part of the fresh new Lambie-Nairn package for Anglia in 1988, I think this was there in lieu of adverts sometimes, but correct me if I'm wrong. Anglia also happened to be the only one to keep dedicated interlude captions as most other ITV regional franchises dropped them.

Well they always were a bit anachronistic... to actually have an interlude in 1988 is quite something though. My station Tyne Tees would have made a point of dumping the in-vision announcer on-air for a few minutes to fill time.

These ITV regions hold tonnes of surprises many of us have yet to uncover. They might as well be the Holy Grail tea set of telly! I think Anglia is the only one of these ITV franchises of my current knowledge to have individually made interlude idents/periods.
