Arnor
Arnor, also known as the Northern Kingdom, was a kingdom of Men located in the land of Eriador in Middle-earth.
After eight hundred years of peace, High King Eärendur died in TA 861 and his three squabbling sons divided the realm into the three kingdoms of Arthedain, Cardolan and Rhudaur. The eldest son, Amlaith, claimed Kingship over all Arnor but was reduced to only ruling the region of Arthedain as his kingdom, while the other sons founded the kingdoms of Cardolan and Rhudaur. Thereafter the Dúnedain of the North spent their strength in foolish, petty wars, sapping their strength while enemies gathered in the shadows.
Arnor was re-founded in name by Arthedain's king Argeleb I, when Cardolan placed itself under the suzerainty of Arthedain. However Arthedain was never more than a shadow of the united Arnor and was unable to resist the power of Angmar. The people of Arnor were mostly wiped out by these wars, but the Hobbits survived in the Shire, Men survived in Bree and probably other villages, and the Dúnedain of Arnor created new homes in the Angle south of Rivendell, where some of them became known as the Rangers of the North.

Hello, frined. You have a really good strategy, trying to limit the Goblins in Moria only, while you keep the whole of Eregion to Elrond. It will surely work, so that your back will be covered from any possible incursions and you will be able to concentrate in Angmar. However, I urge you in this to hit Zagh Kala and limit the Goblins further, so that Imladris doesn't get attacked continuously and you don't get incursions passing river Bruinen. Surely give Zagh Kala to Balin, as he will pay you back what you need to build the House of Kings. Afterwards, I suggest to bring the militia units to Tirdhuin and Metraith, as you will surely get entangled with Dunland - maybe use a small force with Dinemen, the new general, to claim Celoniach, which still stands rebel? Not a bad idea... Aragorn with Halbarad and the Dunedain units will need to get retrained in Ost Sul and Fennas Drunin before they return to the war with Angmar and get their own posts in Arthedain and Rhudaur. Your economy will surely rise, as the small gains are easily overlooked, however they can make a big difference before you turn on the big money-makers. It already had a relatively good shape and it will grow more in the future, allowing you to keep a decent defensive force in your borders and hit your enemies with your best troops. PS: For diplomacy, however, keep an eye to Ered Luin. It's not entirely sure that they will stay allied with you, because they have the script with the Three Dwarven Rings, which means that there is the possibility to turn on you and this will be a fairly good challenge. This will mean, though, that Annuminas will have a new enemy besides Angmar. Finally, it would be better to rename Deadman's Dike to Fornost Erain, as this was always its proper name... And now, let's get on our story: "My King, I need to remind you a bit of the History of our Kingdom. As you know, the Witch King of Angmar set his realm with a strong military organisation, in order to counter us with numbers. However, soon he realised that a full frontal attack would cost him too much, more than what he was willing to pay. So, he opted to encircle us. He quickly understood that Arthedain was his major opponent, so he first needed to bring down the other two kingdoms, Cardolan and Rhudaur, before he attacked Arthedain. And Rhudaur was a very prominent target, as the Dunedain of this kingdom were too few to resist the Hillmen, that were inflooding the kingdom coming from the North - whom he himself brought down secretly. His first attacks were very big, you will say, even one of the High Kings would die defending Amon Sul... However, most of his forces were not in Amon Sul, but securing Rhudaur from side to side, as his patrols were in Ettendales, roaming Ettenmoors and scouting in Oiolad. Rhudaur fell easily, all he needed to do is to wait until the line of the Kings of Rhudaur ended. Then, his minions among the Hillmen would take over. Cardolan was a more complex situation, but the Great Plague, that ravaged Enedwaith coming from the South, brought the Dunedain down sooner than the expected, so he sent again his minions to attack Amon Sul, so that his Iron Crown armies invaded Cardolan from three sides and ravaged the land till Minhiriath, before returning and crushing the last resistance in Tyrn Goerthand. and my King is right - that was the time when Amon Sul was burned. Only then the Witch King was free to strike our positions with the best of his armies, breaching the defence after the fall of Fornost Erain and striking into the Arthedain plains, prior to the final attack in Annuminas. Remember this story, my King. As Agandaur is following the same plan. You know that Rhudaur is now under the Iron Crown, while in Eregion the Goblins are marching forth. Remember, my King, and place your defences correctly. But don't make the same mistake again, because nothing is given or taken for granted". Halbarad found this letter in a bottle after they returned to Bruinost. Aragorn had gone for Annon-en-Orrod with the hope to pull with him two armies that were chasing him. However, only one army came upon him trying to relieve Annon-en-Orrod (which got destroyed in the battle), while the other refused to chase Aragorn and re-enter in Bruinost. Aragorn had a lot of good comments regarding this step-back. However, it wasn't a major failure, as the Goblins returned, only to fall in the ambush Aragorn's army set between the ancient castle and the town of Bruinen, while Dinemen and his cavalry forces took down the reinforcements, emptying the lands from the Goblins. Aragorn was very happy to return the towns to the High Elfs, when Halbarad gave him the bottle with the letter. "Just like in Annuminas", he said to Aragorn. "At least now we know that this Thorondor is not an enemy". "He was never an enemy", Aragorn replied. "No servant of Sauron would ever use the name of the Lord of Manwe's Great Eagles. But this lesson of history has its own meaning. He tries to push us to a certain action". "It's obvious", Halbarad said. "But does that mean that he approves our moves to liberate Eregion prior to hit back in the North?". "I think he does", Aragorn replied. "But I feel that he didn't mention the Goblins for nothing. I feel he wants us to hit Zagh Kala first. If we are successful and we give the old fort back to the Dwarfs - meaning Balin, of course - and then to return". "I feel it would be mostly beneficial", Halbarad said. "Especially after we made that mistake in front of Bruinost". "I have to blame only myself", Aragorn apologised. "However, we need to take his warning into account, not to take anything for granted. I'm sure you caught it". "Of course", Halbarad agreed with his finger showing the last lines of the letter. "But it seems that this guy prefers to communicate with messages in bottles that are well hidden. Could he shadow our road?". "Gandalf thinks so", Aragorn said. "Though I very much doubt if it's only one man. They should be a team that hides our path and disorientates the enemy. We surely need to be very careful from now on". "And we need to have our eyes for assassins", Halbarad continued. "We are a bit open in empty air, let's close some things around us". Aragorn nodded in agreement, as Halbarad had expressed his own thoughts.

Perhaps for Zagh Kala he can send a couple units to siege it out while it is a weak garrison and then send units for the final assault when he is sieging Moria.

I would recommend you to check Annùminas and Fornost Erain (Deadman's Dike) they might have extra tier of mason's hall. They do have in some versions and it improves considerably building time and reduce the cost.

Don't feel bad about the timer, I have had to learn the hard way to turn the battle time limit on. The number of times the enemy will attack you, but not actually advance on you, is frankly ridiculous. It left me in a position of having to attack (when i didn't have a battle time limit) and lose what might have been a successful defense if I had been able to leave my forces in place. I eventually just started turning the time limit on. If they don't attack me when they initiate the battle, that's on them. You didn't do anything to force them to stand still. Especially as the ND when you rarely have the number advantage, it really sucks to have to leave the better position to attack a larger enemy force. Not cheesy, just an old game with an old AI.

It seems that Angmar might go for Cameth Brin, it may be a good idea to go for that and establish yourself there (better defensively then Fennas Druenan), it is a Dunedain castle so plant of ballistic towers to defend, along with extra free upkeep, it may prove a poser for the Goblins and Angmar at the same time. Beware the Goblin doomstacks though while you do this, after all we don't want you to be surprised by Cave Trolls like Boromir. 😉

In the Bruinost battle you grossly underestimated the melee skills of Halbarad's unit. He's great as a frontline of to the flank to cut down enemies moving in and then engaging them in melee.

Along with most of the people here, but in another vein - think you doing the cheese makes up for the ai push through bullshit they do when you try to killbox sometimes. Fight fire with fire. Also a goblin town rush would make killing all the goblins easier as they would all be south of imladris.

Thank god your campaigns aren't like miine. I used to do a lot of politics to survive because i am not good at winning battles. I used to siege out Tharbad, then trade it with an area of Enedwaith that doesn't border an enemy like Bregost for example and repeat the same process every time they lost Tharbad. That was the PTSD i mentioned due to me fighting all these enemies 😂.

I don't suppose you could spare anough troops to quickly take Angmar's capital and sell their unit production buildings? It worked for me vs the Goblins as Khazad-dum, once I had it firmly under my control, although I hired most of the Beornings mercs of the region to take Gundabad.

That battle at Thirduin was not quite RP ; you could have tried close combat with your general till the end, even if the ennemy win and you could retake the settlement after... After all, the harder, the better...

when Fornost is attacked the ennemy cannot enter inside all you have to do is empty your arrow to weaken the ennemy troops and let the timer run Your units must not go out of the gate because it will left the spell of Earnur wich forbid the ennemy to enter and the ennemy can enter

Ligizd, I have a question, do you plan to upload episodes of this let'splay regularly in some specific time? If so, how often and in which time will you upload? Last thing, I need to know the time zone, I am from Czech republic.

@@Ligizd Yeah, it's enough. I have seen, that you don't upload regularly, but sometimes you upload three or four episodes in three or four at roughly same times, so that's why I have asked. I am just studing right now for exams, and I would like to plan breaks ideally, when some youtubers or let's players release videos.

I am sorry but what do you mean that those rangers were not free upkeep anymore due to culture? I am so confused by the free upkeep mechanic, I keep smashing my head to find out why many of my units are not free upkeep eventho I have either the main building +2 or a meeting hall etc (playing as Ered Luin)
