Renee Nevermore Renee Nevermore *its a long backstory before understanding the wedding issues* My husband and I were together for 3 years exactly before we got married. (Married on the same month & day we got together.) During our “dating” phase I sorta got along with his maternal grandmother, mom, brother & sister-in-law. At the time, I knew his parents were divorced after he graduated. (We went to high school together and were best friends for a while. He was a grade older graduated a year before me.) I never knew the extent of the emotional abuse he took from them until issues arose at my college and I had to move back home. (I was in another state, my stuff was stolen along with my S.S card & license. Barely making enough for bills let alone gas money I packed my things drove back home. I had nowhere to go as I had prior issues with my mom for many years which is another story all it’s own. He let me live with him.) My husband and his older brother lived together at this time. During this time, hubby’s mother had her name on his accounts and pretty much ran them. 🙄 Once hubby graduated she used his money to pay her bills. (This was after the older brothers wife got fed up by her husband doing it. So she turned to her youngest.) Being naive, my husband allowed it since his dad left. These were supposed to be bills for her house, etc. There came points where he had car trouble and I offered him mine but it needed titled & licensed etc. plus he had to pay rent. (Which his brother was over-charging him anyway) He would get paid go to the atm to check his account the following day to pay for such things and only had less than $400. 😮 I was so livid.

So I did what I normally do and snapped the hell off on everyone. Called them both out of being dogshit parents. One who get home from work doesn’t even say hello to his kids and plays video games the rest of the night and demands his wife already have dinner made and for him to be fed first like he is still a damn child. The other who does absolutely not shit and can’t put any effort to teach her children small things like colors and has to have someone else do it for her. Just like she can’t keep a clean house To even take credit for. Meanwhile, their dogs shitting in the house bc she’s too busy on her phone or pretending to care about what her child is learning while her teacher is there. Then I really set the bar when I said “I’m surprised her teacher hasn’t called DCFS on you two, Hell I should have called them my damn self.” (I know, wrong of me to go after someone’s children. However, I saw it as if they were truly doing what they should for those kids... they wouldn’t have anything to worry about. An to get them to open their eyes. After putting up with this for a year I wasn’t holding nothing back.) So anyway, that enticed a huge blow out. They were “throwing me out” early January and I wasn’t allowed in the house to get my things. Bobble-headed raggedy Ann was talking shit to me on the opposite side of the house but would go back inside by the time I came around. 🥴 His wife was such a pussy it was funny. Him and his brother were arguing out in the driveway. His brother started bawling. Telling him that he is more than welcome to still stay but I cannot and that he is going to have to choose. When he chose me over them, his brother was crying and begging him not too and “why would he do this to his niece & nephew” and my personal favorite “I took care of you. We let you stay with us.” pretty much wanting to keep him there so he could still pay for things they wanted rather than needed. Without him they couldn’t afford to live where they were or the high speed Internet he needed to play video games. We couch surfed for like 3 days at a neighbor’s house and then we left on a Carribbean cruise that we had been planning with my family. On the way back I found a place for us in less than a week.

My understanding of the culture is that parents teach girls from a super young age how to be homemakers. My understanding of this *show* is that the mothers in law (particularly in this set of sisters) are super controlling, especially with the couples still living with them. So Alyssa likely knows, but probably was either micromanaged into submission and stopped or wasn’t allowed to for not doing things “right.”
