Why as a child did I think these dresses were just amazing? I still think a lot of them are great works of art... just not to really wear... especially for a wedding.
I want to watch a show about the dress maker! Imagine a "Cake Boss" type show about a dress maker who makes all these gypsy dresses. I want to see the crazy ideas they bring to her.
The UK gypsy dress maker had a reality show for one season. I don’t know where to find the old episodes. There was also a reality show where the same woman taught gypsy girls to sew. It’s weird how a limited education will encourage a person to fight more quickly.
Yeah I say that out loud just about every time I see a video of these weddings. Also, why put all the money onto a dress you only ever wear once maybe twice if ya still fit it n are still married by the time ya may renew your vows!? Just thinking about that, the gypsies may do the whole expensive gaudy n multiple dress choices cuz in their minds they pick a dress/dresses that they know they'd prob wear more often thru their lives to other occasions n events they celebrate in their culture!?..possibly? ☆
It looked way too cheap to be actual animal fur. That's some plastic fake fur on that dress and it shows. The cost of real fur like that would be astronomical and those cheap rhinestones really pull the look together.
I told my hubby I gotta cop one of those Ranch hats. He said "you sure you want a hat with a condiment on it?" Now I gotta throw the whole husband away.
@@voilvelev6775 their colors look like what you'd end up with if you were buying Power Ranger toys from Wish. Probably in a package that says "Super Duper Color Fighters." I can't imagine what Rita would look like. 🤣
Well yes because traditionally in romani culture you only marry other romani and in the us the romani population is very small but in europe it's easier to not have to marry a first or 2nd cousin
@@tiffanyrenee4632 You're quite welcome. I just found some on alibaba and 100k are about 35-40$ in various colors.I was also curious about how much 80k rhinestones were.
You can buy Swarovski crystals (hot fix or not) wholesale. In which case, they'd be extremely cheap. Going by the single packs that you can get at a craft store isn't reasonable, and those are so very overpriced. If you go by wholesale price, you can easily get 80K Swarovski crystals for about $3,000-$3,300. I used to "bedazzle" a lot of things, and now use a ton of Swarovski crystal beads in the jewelry I make :)
I thought she said that it was gunna make his "balls drop." Lmao. If they get married at 14/16, then it's very possible for that to actually happen. Lmao.
As a Romany woman who cant STAND these fake ass "Gypsy" shows, your videos covering them somehow make me feel a little better 🤣🤣🤣 you guys are awesome 😁
In UK version one girl liked cats so her dress, tiara & everything had pink cats. There may have been over 30,000 of them! In UK the thing she warmed her hands in is called a muff, I'm guessing you can work out why that is very funny. There was another gypsy wedding were a rogue bridesmaid turned up in a bigger skirt than the bride- fight!
One time, years ago, a hot air balloon emergency descended in my back yard, which was full of raspberry bushes. We all ran out and held up the deflated ballon so it wouldn't get ripped up. This dress seems more difficult than that.
Only Lady Gaga could pull off that Rhinestone/ Fur/ Futuristic - Deathtrap and look somewhat decent. ..... I digress.... Not even Lady Gaga. That dress is horrendous.
Lady: "We got class, we got the bling bling..." Me: "Oh dear, you've certainly got the "bling bling", but if you were going for class you missed it about 80,000 rhinestones ago..."
To help explain the stone count thing, I would bet they're using crystal applique built on lace to cover the areas that don't need to be fully customized. It's a lot less time consuming to sew on the applique or crystal chains and customize on top of it with loose crystals. Some of the chain edging can be like six rows or more (those are probably good for hems). As for explaining the murder dress? There's no explanation for that. Although I'm amazed she didn't ask for a matching chinchilla cape or something. Maybe rabbit gloves. You know how it is. Go big or go home.
It's funny how I have to put up the volume to listen to you guys talk, but I have to QUICKLY turn it down once Buff starts laughing. Lmao Don't wanna scare my coworkers 😅
Sometimes they make incredibly beautiful dresses, even the tacky ones have so much skill put into them. But the women.. The women always look the same. 😬
I believe it was 80,000 rhinestones. She used all sizes but most were those little tiny ones and you can buy those bags which come with 1,000 rhinestones and it doesn't even look like much at all so she basically just bought 80 bags of those to cover that much surface area. Irrespective of whether people like the Gypsy style dresses, she is no doubt a very talented seamstress.
I find it sad for the dressmaker. She likely knows these designs are absolutely horrendous but needs to do them anyways or she won't get paid. I'm betting she has made nicer dresses but now all she will be known for are these abominations. Even her staff didn't look too pleased with their handiwork.
"If today's your birthday, Happy Birthday and I love you!" That bit of the outro always makes me smile. But...Today actually IS my birthday. Thanks Ken! 🤣🖤
