You can't have the specific programs, without the funding in the budget, to fulfill the policies taxpayers elected the officials to act on. Poilievre cut the budget for housing under Harper, so Kathleen's hands were tied as premier for funding to build more affordable housing.. Pm Trudeau increased the infrastructure funding, but Ford hasn't built any.. That's why the PM went over his head to mayors of municipalities, to get them built more rapidly.. While there has always been a projected number of immigrants and estimated number of refugees, Harper failed to give enough funding to provinces to built the affordable housing for the increased population.. The feds gave premiers funding for healthcare, Ford chose to spend more on privatization, than on our public system...

Where do you think the money to cover all those expenses comes from? Quebec pays the most taxes, Alberta contributes the least and Ontario has the largest economy.. Everyone's taxes are pooled, the budget is then made to account for Healthcare/education, infrastructure, federal road maintenance etc., and it's divided by per capita population, when the transfers are sent from the Federal govt to each province. The provinces also put in towards those expenses.. In Ontario Ford was given millions, in relief transfers to upgrade school/hospital and Long term care home ventilation systems. Ford never used the money. Where did he put it? Afterward, the feds said no more money, unless it's used for what it was intended, no more free money for Ford's personal projects or to balance his budget.. Ford and housing, the feds transferred money to build more affordable housing, he didn't do that either, so the PM has gone over his head, to deal with municipalities to get the housing built. So before you blame the PM, look at who is responsible for what, and what our taxes pay for. What you pay in taxes is less than walking into an American hospital, before anything is even done to help you! Like I said, ask an American what they get in return for their taxes paid...

The government doesn't co trol food prices, except for all the extra taxes they add and the unionized companies that demand higher wages which leads to higher food costs. Add to that, bank fees that are charged when we use debit/credit cards (why do you think Costco only takes one type of credit card-saves on bank fees). And add to that the waste from people leaving fridge/freezer items in random places when they 're too lazy to take it back, and then that food gets written off because it can't be sold...

Poilievre, has already proven, and got caught cheating on elections, he's the one who should be further investigated, for accepting huge donations from gun lobbyists & anti abortion religious groups (just like Trump), and for supporting the RW group, that wanted to overthrow the current govt during the Ottawa occupation, which cost the city millions in damages, that the people of Ottawa are left stuck paying for. The current PM even pays out of pocket, to cover the carbon emissions when he flies on business. The pay raises PM's get is automatic, not self administered.
