ANGRY homeowner CONFRONTS me while cleaning yard, demands I leave or ELSE…
What a bizarre situation here, I was contacted online by a female that mentioned the back of her property was overgrown and she wanted to know if we could cleanup the fence line as the neighbors brush tends to overgrow into her yard. I was on the fence but thought, we can swing by really quick, it won’t take to long and that quickly turned into a mistake.
You’ll notice a big pile of dirt or sand here as I walked into the backyard. Lots of weeds and overgrowth from all the neighbors it looks like. Looks like an old row boat and canoe and look at this pile of weeds here. Along the fence here it’s overgrowing into their yard as well.
When I stopped and knocked on the door, no one answered, that was a key look takeaway that I should have walked away.
I was approached by a man who at first I thought was going to say hi then I thought he was joking but quickly learned, he wasn’t messing around. He apparently works a lot and I woke him up, he told me to leave and asked if I seen what happened to Donald Trump last week and he suggested I leave so that doesn’t happen to me.
I always look back at these situations and try to figure out how I could have handled it differently, what would you have done. This literally just happened 2 days ago so I wanted to get the word out but I did later learn this isn’t his residence but he was frustrated I woke him up with the heavy machinery.

He didn't call the cops cause he doesn't have the owners permission to enter his property and start cutting down plants. The cops would have to contact the owner, issue a citation to the RU-vidr and a judge will make him replace everything he cut down. He was in the wrong.

Even then you were nice enough to ask to finish and you and your son got the remaining trash. I am so sorry that happened to you but like you said next time make sure someone comes to the door. Your contract needs a clause saying the owner has contacted all neighbors and there are no issues with starting work on the date and time agreed to. With that in place, you can legally walk away if a neighbor creates an issue with you or calls the cops on you. But you should never call the cops of course, because that will only cost more lost time. I just walk away in these situations. It’s up to the owner to create a safe working environment with approvals from neighbors.

First of all, you guys did an Outstanding Job on the yard! Second of all, I feel really really sad that you where confronted in that way. There is a way to talk to everyone, with respect and kindness! I think you should have called the police because he did indirectly threatened you. I agree with you, he did not look like he belonged to that house. Our world is in such a bad bad state right now that you have to be extra careful because you just don't know or even can anticipate what someone will do.
