True Fact: He Hated That He Had To Yell At Charlie And Grandpa Joe (Especially The Actor Playing Charlie Cause They Had Quite A Friendship Offscreen ( In Wonka's office at the end of the movie, Charlie's stunned reaction to the candy maker yelling at him is real. Ostrum was not told beforehand that Willy would be yelling at Charlie. Stuart felt that doing it that way would allow for a better, more real, reaction from Charlie. Wilder said that he wanted more than anything to warn Peter about the yelling beforehand because they had become such good friends during the production, and he wanted Ostrum to be assured that he was only acting, but Stuart forbade it.
Not that I don't like Johnny Depp's version of this character, but that version of the character never seems to get this angry. He gets visibly irritated but not like this.
Me as Grandpa Joe:YOU’RE A CROOK… YOU’RE A CHEAT AND SWINDLER! THAT’S WHAT YOU ARE! HOW COULD YOU DO A THING LIKE THIS?! BUILD UP A LITTLE BOY’S HOPES AND THEN SMASHED ALL OF HIS DREAMS TO PIECES! YOU’RE AN INHUMAN MONSTER!!!!
What I'm thinking about when Mr wonka enters his office telling mr Wilkinson to get ready and thinking to himself: "I can't believe I'm about to do this. I hope he'll forgive me. I know he could do it."
This scene has been tampered with, it's not the true movie scene. Don't believe everything you see on the net, watch the full movie for yourself ...enjoy :)
Was something already bothering Wonka so much that he quickly yelled at Charlie and Grandpa Joe just for merely asking about the lifetime supply of chocolate?
WAIT DUDE....at about :25 I can distinctly hear a song called The Apple playing in the background from one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen, The Apple. What do you have to say for yourself? :D
Funny stuff. Obviously edited so anyone making that remark I don't understand. Charlie should have lost the contest in this version of the story. He STOLE fizzy lifting drinks and BUMPED into the ceiling which then had to be WASHED and STERILIZED. He should have got NOTHING and LOST. Good day to him! Returning the gobstobber in no way makes up for any of that. Charlie in the book was the perfect child, not rotten, not spoiled. Certainly not a thief or a vandal.
