Can please appreciate the host? He has done his research on him, he is asking the right questions in a very right way, he stops whenever Javed Akhtar starts talking, He was polite and he knew whom he is talking to through out the interview. A true man of culture.
You've made my day and week and month, Sakib. Thank you for your very generous words and kind sentiment - I'm so happy particularly because you've appreciated the research. Put in a lot of efforts for that (read two of his biographies!) :)
@@tanejamainhoon you know most of the interviews and podcasts are identical but this one was different. Because of your great questions we got a lot of words of wisdom. Thankyou
@@tanejamainhoon You were good, more so because it was a difficult task talking newer things with a personality like Javed Akhtar who has now a thousand videos talking everything that matters in his life 😀... That's the reason the section here about his life has nothing new to offer, but talks about cinema & society offers lot of good. Your understanding about cinema & society helped bring out great conversation. It did impress me. 👍
Self respecting man is tolerant towards the weak person, but and arrogant man is intolerant of the weak and submissive in front of the strong. - Javed Akhtar
@@MuniraKhan-wi6jv. Iska matlab yeh nhi ki juth bolta hai. He is able to explain it well! Only the person who understands and practice something can explain that thing well!
I have sobbed after this interview, seeing a man define Feminism, speaking for us was something that i needed. I wish he lives a long life and that his legacy of thoughts continues forever, because only such thoughts can make the world a better world to live. Lots of respect, respect and respect. One of the finest content.
There r men who r compassionate, who r feminist, not just feminist but the voice of all marginalised. Javed Sahab is definitely one of those. I myself a Man and admire him a lot. Rationality is our Aim
@@bhavikarathod4442 I know it's easy to be a patriarch in the patriarchal world. Being a Male, when I talk with empathy, talk with rationality especially on Feminism, people try to term me "less masculine" but still I'm not gonna change my stand. Being Compassionate doesn't make me Less masculine
"I lost my mother to death and father to life" is probably the most profound and poignant sentence I've ever heard in my life. Waah, Javed sahab. Yeh sirf koi aala shayar hi keh sakta tha.
Always a pleasure to listen to Javed Saab! Explaining life’s intricacies in a simple format is his forte. We are all fortunate to have him in our midst spreading love and wisdom across society! 🙏
I have been a great fan of this since the first episode.. but I must say it keeps getting better. This conversation has so much wisdom. One learns so much by just listening to Javed saab. ❤
This was such a good episode. So thorough. So deep. If its possible please bring Farhan Akhtar also in next season. I am sure he will have many stories about Javed Sahab and himself because he is also very talented himself
Nikhil ji, you are asking wonderful questions to Javedji. This shows that you have done a lot of research on both modern angry man and a modern woman. I wish you continue to have such deep conversations with more young men and older men, because that way, men's insecurities diminish and they are ready to share the space with women in the world... Films like Animal or Kabir Singh are here, because of their insecurities and challenges they face in their daily lives with women..... Because they see women on the other side, are entrepreneurs, accountants, doctors, even under their burqas or ghunghats! They share a Shark Tank seats, ready with numbers and investments... Pls continue such conversations. If you have not done enough justice, then pls call your guests again like Naseerji, Anupam Kherji, Gulzarji, Bachhanji, etc and ask them again on your points.
Thank you so much for this wonderful and very kind, comment. Trying to do very much the same. Got the opportunity to speak to Naseer sir last season of the show, please do see it! Hoping to get Bachchan sir on the show soon ❤️
@@anaishabharadwaj4461his father was dead to him even when he was alive coz of absence and conflicts He was close to his mother so he felt her presence and lost her only when she passed away
This is my favorite and the 1st show that comes in my mind when i think of a talkshow/podcast. The host especially is the reason because his attitude is very polite and welcoming. Not like the other podcasts where the guests are interrupted in between. Thank you and all the very best🎉💛
Javed Akhtar was fortunate to have partnership with Salim Khan and they delivered numerous hits. Similarly he nourished writing skills in the presence of Sahir, Majrooh and Kaifi. He is a true legend!
Naa. He lives in ideal world. For example as a man I work whole life to give dowry to get my daughter married. Still there is no guarantee that mother in law and sister in law won't kill my daughter because they thought dowry was not enough. It happen everywhere in India. He thinks women do no evil. Only men need to improve towards women forgetting that men work whole life so that daughter gets married.
@@parthsavyasachi9348 why not work their whole life to educate their daughter, make her independent so she can deal with her mother in law and sister in law as she sees fit.
@@ShimaTheCatto there is no education needed. We need to give up the system. No one shall be giving dawry actually. And if children want to spend money they shall do it themselves. Most people in India are too traditional so they won't. When I married second time after Indian wife passed away, I married European and we both spent just less than 1000 euros on wedding. Same we teach to kids. No unnecessary expense on weddings. But this is one family. India needs to change actually. BTW the horrible part is that man's mother and sister participate in deciding how much dawry daughter in law shall bring.. We need change.
@@parthsavyasachi9348 Yes and education brings change. Things have improved from the past. Is the system completely abolished? Definitely not but there is hope. When both men and women grow as individuals they themselves realise how harmful the practice of dowry is. I am not saying that educated individuals don't indulge in these practices, maybe they do. But the only way to stop a daughters suffering is teaching her not to take shit from her in laws, stand her ground and live with pride. No matter how much you work for your daughter's dowry, if the in-laws are greedy and she has low self esteem she will never be happy. You can't change other people but one can definitely change themselves.
Listening to Javed Saab gives you a new perspective to life and makes you think. Loved the show. Well done to Nikhil. Would love to hear Naseer Sir too on your show.
Can I just mention- this has to be my favvv. episode!!! Everything about this conversation absolutely has my heart. Two amazing legends in one frame- what more can we ask for!!!
Something very spooky happened as I picked up a cream roll Javed shab uttered the word cream roll in the interview, besides that what an interview, learnt a lot , u always get some great perspectives on life listening to a Javed shab interview…
@@trickyhindi222 becuz of all the hustle and to move on with his life he lost touch and pure bond with his father which many of us do when we become 'independent'
Wonderful interview. Javed Saab is Javed Saab as always, but the host also did a wonderful job. Loved how you posed the questions about angry young woman image. I have been stuck with a script on feminism and I think Javed Saab gave me the solution ❤
Gem like this interview really deserves million of views ❤❤and his poem for his daughter had my heart❤ and Nikhil is really a best host to have for such interviews ❤
Nikhil, If I ever become famous will you invite me too😌 Btw love Be a Man Yaar ❤. I have been following since it started and every episode has been wholesome. I feel with each episode I learned something new and I'm becoming a better man and a better person. Love you Nikhil and BMY team ❤
This is one of the kindest comments I have received, thank you so much ❤️. Means so much to me that you have watched and loved the show so much. I'm learning something in every episode myself!
Women who are watching this interview will be very inspired to hear the poem dedicated to Zoya - which I think is on self-actualisation. Also so refreshing to hear Javed Akhtar's definition of Feminism towards the end. I still cringe when I remember Kareena Kapoor evading the question when asked about it during the promotions of a modern women centric movie- Veere di Wedding!! Also Javed saahab saying that he regrets not writing a women centric movie and praising Zoya's movies for authentically representing the modern woman - kudos!! Nikhil, such a wonderful interview. Thank you for asking the tough and thought provoking questions based on good research. So happy that there are male feminists like Javed Akhtar, you, and Siddhaarth Aalambayan in India.
