Hey, awesome fic recs! The variety is refreshing and fun. I can’t wait to read that Little Mermaid one (and probably have my heart broken but oh well ;)) I’m looking forward to seeing what stories come up next week! Okay so my rec for the week is “Anyway, I’ve Been There,” by Caleb Nova This is a Gravity Falls fanfic and one of the best in my opinion. It starts off as a gen fic that deals with Dipper and Mabel readjusting to life back in Piedmont after surviving Weirdmageddon. But then it seamlessly transitions into the best slow-burn Dipper/Pacifica ship fic I’ve ever read! Everyone is in-character, the relationship between the twins is hilarious and perfectly written, and the chemistry between Dipper and Pacifica is so organic. It’s fun to watch them go from friends to something more while Pacifica tries so hard to become a better person. Dipcifica unfortunately isn’t the fandom’s most popular pairing, but fics like this hopefully show fans how much potential it has! So far the fic is 65 chapters, with the main story stretching the length of the twins’ school year and ending right before summer. It’s essentially a completed fic, but the author occasionally posts “epilogue” chapters that take place over the twins’ next summer in Gravity Falls with Pacifica (all of which are freaking superb!).

seven months by doubletan. 10 chapters, 27015 words. AO3 This is a Victury fic from YURII on ice. More specifically Hanahaki disease. Afters Yuri’s defeat in the 2015 Grand Prix final he decides to retire from skating and finish his nursing degree, he becomes a nurse in Detroit where one of his patients ends up being Viktor Nikivirov, skate legend who fell ill to hanahaki during a performance. For some reason he seems to be adamant about not returning to Russia and staying in the hospital, from there he and Yuri begin a friendship that may blossom into something more? Warnings: this is an absolute beautiful fic but it pulls no punches, a lot of hurt, mostly hurt. You should give it a chance because it’s just beautiful, moving and the portrait of Victury is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Well written and book/slash movie quality. My favorite hanahaki and a general most read. And btw if you do read it, please give the author some love in the comments , they received a lot of bullying for really unfair reasons. Check it out.

I've read the Little Mermaid you recommended before and it's definitely one of my favorites! I would love more Little Mermaid fics!

Definitely going to check out the little mermaid and Supernatural fics. I can't remember the name of it but there was this great one chapter fic I read on Tumblr a while back about Bakugou and Uraraka from My Hero Academia where Bakugou had Hanahaki Disease. That's been my main go to ship for fics the past few months. There's also a villain Deku fic called Heroes of the Dark by ohmytheon that is sooo good. It's about everyone trying to move on after Deku sacrificed himself but then he shows up alive again to Uraraka and angst from there on because he's obviously not right.

A Harp of Gold by cakeisnotpie on AO3. It's one of my favorite Shiledhusbands/Phlint fics. Its on the longer side, and has a lot of background pairings and cameos. Magic, time travel, combat, romance, and music.

Fitting to the tone of some of the fics you recd, I will recommend a angsty Spideypool fic. ;) It is the counterpart of the fic "Hero" I recommended last week but can be read as a standalone. It has not necessarily something to do with "Hero" but when you read both you know why they are their counterparts. So "Villain" (Rated M, 4 chapters, 23126 words) by Lafaiette tells the story of a mission with the Avengers gone wrong. Peter and Wade are working with the Avengers (they are not necessarily the MCU Avengers, because there are also The Wasp and Wolverine) and are already in a relationship. On this mission Peter lands because of an incident with a time machine in a different time and meets there little Wade. That is all I want to tell you about the plot because I think for this fic it is the best to know as little as possible. Only a few warnings: This fic is angsty! At least it was for me. There is no movie, book or TV show where I have cried so hard and long as while reading this fic. The fic has something of a cold mood and atmosphere about it but also has a few pauses in the angst to breath. It is not an overwhelming angst but a subtle one. It is a bit hard to explain. It is just not this kind of angst that comes with death, depression, suicide or something like that. It is a very personal and character driven angst, if that makes any sense. Also another warning: this fic describes child neglect and child abuse. Yes, it is that kind of tragic backstory for Wade. It is not explicitly written, we don't see the act itself, but it is heavily implied. So be aware of that. This fic is, together with "Hero", my favorite Spideypool fic ever. They are just so emotional and character heavy, I love it! You can read all of Lafaiettes Spideypool fics to be honest. They are all so good! Now I just want to tell you a bit about of why I love this fic so much but for it I have to go a bit into spoiler territory regarding the ending, so stop reading now if you don't want to know anything else about the story (I heavily recommend that you stop NOW!)... ...So the ending of this fic is for me the most heartbreakingly beautiful ending I've ever read in a spideypool fic or fic in general! it is almost poetic in a way. It has, together with "Hero" everything I love about this pair: angst, hurt/comfort, love, feelings, a bit of smut, just perfect. Also the theme of the two fics about heroes and villains is just so interesting. What is a hero, what is a villain, what does it mean to be a hero/villain, it's so fascinating to read and think about. The two fics brought me also closer to the Avengers, Steve and Tony specifically. Because of the fics I wanted to know more about Steve and Tony and started reading about them and watched the movies. Especially Tony was a beautiful surprise. He does not say much in "Villain" but he says just this one sentence that just blew me away with its intensity and meaning. With just this one sentence I was like: "Wow, Tony Stark has a BIG heart behind that snarky exterior! I love it!" That was at a time I knew almost nothing about him and Steve and did not even watched the movies. I just love how Lafaiette manages with only a few sentences to deliver so many emotions. She is definitely one of my favorite spideypool writer ever! Have fun reading you beautiful people!

oh and i have another angst-ridden stucky fic rec! it’s called ‘despite the threatening sky and shuddering earth (they remained)’ by praximeter on ao3 and it’s basically an au where during winter soldier bucky’s mask never comes off? not as in like it just so happens that it doesn’t fall off, like the mask is physically not removable. as you can imagine, it’s heavy on body horror and angst and mistaken/unknown identity. plus some pretty graphically detailed explanation of winter-soldier related torture which i guess is pretty much par for the course in a post-tws fic but it’s amazingly well-written and has some excellent art and a podfic to go along with it (or maybe two) it’s 20 chapters and around 70,000 words which can seem a little daunting at first but is completely worth it i promise

That Harley/Starfire fic! I laughed so hard & the end was beautiful, thanks for the rec! Also the Ariel one! I'm a sucker for the unhappily ever afters. For rare-pairs, like the idea of Cather/Reagan from Fan Girl (i legit thought that's where the book was headed for like the first 70 pages or so) but there isn't really any content at this point. Maybe I''ll write something.

Yay! More femslash in my life! Definitely not enough of this in the world. Buried pairings: Hmm, it doesn't happen often but I think one I was intrigued by but didn't/couldn't pursue was movieverse!Hellboy/Abesapian pre-golden army. It seemed all the fics then were Hellboy/John and I was really confused because that pairing did NOTHING for me lol. Really liked the premise of the Little Mermaid fic, gotta love deep introspection with real world problems. Ok this week's fic rec from me: Two Wolves by Xanthe (or anything by Xanthe, really anything). NCIS Gibbs/DiNozzo fic that's 6 chapters and 147k words (I'll say it again, apparently my kink is stupid long fics the more taboo and problematic the better lol). "While investigating the disappearance of a Marine, Gibbs is abducted, sold, and forced to fight in a brutal tournament where the price of winning is almost as high as the cost of losing, and death waits constantly in the wings. After five months of hitting brick walls, Tony finally hatches a desperate plan to rescue Gibbs, only to find him a very changed man. In order to escape, Tony has to remind Gibbs who he is and awaken a sleeping wolf inside him. I've read this fic at least three times so it's definitely up there as a fandom defining fic for me. Can't wait for next week!!!

Gonna check out that Ariel fanfic as well as Supernatural this weekend from the recs, thank you! Being dragged to a series because of fandom is something I recognize has happened to me a lot. I have never seen an episode of Supernatural, gave up on Merlin after the first season, barely finished the Lord of the Rings books, only watched playthrough romance plot lines from Dragon Age and just seen a few scenes of Detroit: Become Human yet I have read fanfics from all of these and even got into Dragon Age afterwards.

Thanks  The two Fic I would REC are both crossovers with The Avengers (Marvel Movies) and the Mission: Impossible Movies. ooooh definitely going to check out the Harley and Kory fic, that sounds fun as hell. As for my rec, Getting To Know You by GirlGamer on ao3. It is a Duke Thomas and Jason Todd gen fic where they bond and talk about their how their lives changed after meeting Bruce. It is also just a well done Duke centric-fic, he doesn't get enough love from the fandom. It's a lil angsty but still very sweet and left me wanting to see these two interact more in the comics XD

Because i know you like Garashir, there is this really good one called "Countdown" by prairiecrow on AO3. It's very bittersweet and I think it's a perfect length!! Another good one (and one that I think is one of the best Garashir fics) is "Changes" by vaiya also on AO3, it deals with Julian having to readjust to life on DS9 in a what if story. The only downside with this one is that it is unfinished, but just for what there is, it's amazing!!! Ok and one more, "Learning to Speak" by tinsnip is the best Garashir fic I ever read imo. It takes place on post series Caradassia and Julian is currently in a relationship with Garak, but the story intertwines Julian learning Cardassi along with Cardassian culture.

I know a fic from a fandom what was huge, but now isn't really talked about anymore, Hetalia. It's called Awakening by Gemini Star01, ten chapters, 19064 words. It's set during WWII and has a lot of dark subject matter with the twins America and Canada stuck in a very specific POW camp. There is a lot of hurt and comfort shared between the two, but when it gets to the reality of what happened, it can get heavy. For some of you other DC shippers; HalBarry or "Flashlight" as it's also called, is a semi-rare/semi-popular ship in the fandom. There's a fair amount of content for it, but it obviously isn't as popular, more of a side-pairing if anything else. There are some really good fics out there, but my absolute, all time favorite HAS to be "A Flashlight to See in the Dark". It takes place in the Young Justice canon, however, is set before the events of the first episode, and is a canon divergence fic, though pretty loosely, only changing some minor details and such. It's an ongoing fic, that, at the time of this comment, has 21 chapters and 164, 380 words, with sporadic but ongoing updates. It's kind of a slow burn, but there's a lot of fluff and humor and romance and action and a fair amount of angst thrown in. The story precedent is pretty simple; Iris and Barry are happily married and have adopted Iris's nephew, Wally, when his parents were killed in a car crash. Barry comes home one day to find that his wife has been brutally murdered by reverse Flash, or Professor Zoom, or Eaboard Thawne since I have no idea what his actual super villain name is (he's referred to as all three in the fic, but I have no idea what his canon name is since apparently those titles get switched around a lot). Barry has to deal with the consequences of raising his 2-3 year old nephew by himself, when his best friend Hal offers to step in and help. The rest is history. I highly recommend it, especially with all the twists and turns and ups and downs. It's genuinely gotten me to laugh really hard, and it's just a really fun and action-packed fic. This is what caused me to start watching the show Young Justice, though the primary focus here is Hal and Barry, while the show is obviously more focused on Wally and Robin and Speedy/Red Arrow and the team they create. (They also have a great BirdFlash fic, for those of you in the Young Justice fandom.) I obviously think very highly of it, and it's worthy of a recommendation. Happy reading! I am definitely interested in the Ariel fic and the Harley/Starfire! For my recommendation, I think people on this channel might really like the two-shot fic Passing Through by flyingcarpet on AO3. Rated E, about 8,000 words if you read both parts. It’s an older fic (circa 2009 I think), a crossover femslash fic between Faith Lehane from Buffy and Jo Harvelle from Supernatural. It keeps them both so in character while flawlessly marrying and expanding the worlds of both series, and it’s also so hot. Both of these ladies deserve better and for a brief moment they find that in each other. So that’s my rec.

For any debriel fans out there I recommend Stand a little rain by bluetoast. The basic premise is that Dean and Gabriel meet and have a one night stand just after Sam runs off to college and while John is away on a hunting trip. Dean ends up pregnant and runs away, scared of what his dad would do if he found out. Gabriel tracks him down and promises to take care of Dean and their baby. The rest of the fic follows their lives together as the two get to know each other, fall in love and raise their daughter. Fair warning it's obviously a mpreg story but it's also got parallel universes and a bit of time travel to it as well because the Winchesters can never live normal lives. It's also a bit on the long side with 7 chapters and 53591 words but for debriel fans that are drowning in a sea of destiel and sabriel like me it is well worth it. So I'm gonna rec somethings in the Hannibal fandom. The Weight of Your Touch by starkaryen (on AO3) is post-finale hannigram where they run of to Argentina and murder and sexy times ensue. It's almost 46 000 words and 12 chapters. The other one is also hannigram this time with time travel. The series is called Our Place in Time by inameitlater (also on AO3) and the first part is We Killed a Dragon Last Night in which after the Fall Will travels through time to before the first season. The third and last part is supposed to come out by the end of the year so I'm really ecxited about that. Also I'm trying to find some good Alana/Margot fics but they get kinda buried under Hannibal/Will so any recs would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my God I just read the Ariel fic and I want to cry. It's so beautifully written, you feel the anguish Ariel is going through and the fic just tugs at your heartstrings. 😭 There's another very interesting Disney Fic over at Fanfiction.net. This one is a Frozen fic. Based On A True Lie by Whit0ro. This one is more comedic, and its about how Hans used his experience in Arendelle to write a book and Ana reads it and isn't happy. It implies that Hans wrote the original Snow Queen story. I really recommend it.

Dawning Light by Mhalachai 14 chapters, 102832 words, AO3. This is an older fic that got moved to AO3 and is a crossover between the Buffy and Anita Blake fandoms. Summary: Dawn fell from Glory's tower and into the portal. Now she's all alone and scared... but sometimes family comes from the strangest places. Honestly, there's no need to know both (or either) of the fandoms, though it does help a bit. It's a fic that I've come back to reread several times and I'd definitely reccomend it! It's just a good found family fic and it doesn't take too long go get through (though to be fair, I am a fast reader).

I'm enjoying these fic rec videos a lot, thanks for making it a thing! Also I want to read all these fics & I don't ship SuperBat in the slightest (though I can be drawn to characters based on them that are in a relationship or get into one), but still I want to read all these fics!

I'm back from reading the spn fic, the little mermaid one and the superman/batman one and wow, you were not kidding about the angst on the first two. At least the last one was fluffy. The thought of the Winchesters dying by itself is depressing, but reading a whole fic about it made it so much worst. Especially with Castiel's thoughts about humanity and time. It was so much. That ending with Castiel and Crowley made me feel better but still, it's never the same after losing someone dear. Surprisingly enough, although I'm a huge supernatural fan and I'm obsessed with DC, my favorite fic between those three has to be the Little Mermaid one (which I have never even seen the movie of.) Ariel's journey through the years is so realistic and the passage of time is so well portrayed and the ending was just so good??? All in all, I'll think about this fic for a long time. Thanks, Shipper. The last one made me feel so much better. I love the robins so much! Any fic with them is a good fic for me (especially if Bruce calls them his kids and it has all those nice family feels.)` Again, thanks shipper for making my night. Your videos always make my day brighter and these fic recs always (well so far since it's only been two) give me a good fic to read.

YAY Blake’s 7! I have definitely mentioned that and received blank faces and the sound of crows cawing... Also the Harley/Kory one sounds like my catnip. An infrequently talked-about paring that I don’t personally ship is Hawkeye/Quicksilver and I only care because “sweet talker” by clintspietro is one of my favourite texting AUs. It could just be that I stayed up all night reading it when I first came across it. I would read anybody’s rare pair if it had a fun AU.

Omgosh that little mermaid fic was sooo heartwrenching. But damn it was amazing and I really wanna get into reading (and maybe writing) Disney fics

I hope this doesn’t sound self promoting, but can I recommend one or two of my own? I’d say Breaking You and/or Prison Sentence which centers around Dick and Tim respectively or if you want something outside of DC Wrath which is a Star Wars Rebels fic on Fanfiction. I’d suggest Familiar Manipulation and Cry for Help too, but those are WIPs and I don’t know if that’s what your looking for.

Secret identity ( A Yong justice fanfiction) by MolMcN is a fic about what if batman and robin didn't know their secret identities fanfic I recommended it's on Wattpad.

My favourite fanfic of all time has got to be “Something smart to do” by Kianspo, on Ao3. It’s a 5+1, where Kirk and Spock (Star Trek AOS) keep ending up fake married by accident. It’s absolutely hilarious, and just a pleasure to read. It’s about 21 000 words, so a fairly quick read, and it’s all in one chapter. Here is the link: archiveofourown.org/works/14501889

Twist of fate, by Oakstone730 on fanfiction.net A Drarry fic that takes place during the books as well as after and is canon-compliant. A lot of angst, but also comfort It's very long, but definitely worth the while and it's been my all time favorite for a few years now.

Today i rec 'the unlayering of castiel novak' by 'thereluctantshipper' which is (as some people could guess form the titel) an AU ff. Its 16,463 words long and ABO with an omega dean and alpha cas. Its writen in deans point of view (but not in first person view, dont worry), its about him bying with cas who is a really not typical alpha and him find out why he is like the.

You: "It is none of the above. This is a Cas and Crowley fic." Me, audibly and very interestedly: "- Tiny Gasp - _Really_ ?"

Advance apology if Im spamming this or not but I really recommend you try reading Sciamachy by Only_1_Truth at ao3. So far this is my most favorite crossover fic. The whole concept of the story is based on the anime Psycho-Pass + fandoms like Hannibal, Sherlock, Person of Interest, James Bond, Kingsman, and etc. Its really a good read and I just love how the idea really works in this story.

While I'm a lover of the long fic (100k+ doesn't intimidate me in a fic) I've been recently running short on time to dedicate to fanfic reading. Now is the perfect time to get into drabbles and shorter one-shots. I do admit I'm a bit prejudiced against fics less than 1,000 words and I'm probably missing out on some jems out there.

I loved the SPN fic. I had never read it before but I had to look it up after this. I really liked it. Now my fic rec to you is: Harry Potter: Made For Each Other archiveofourown.org/works/384316?view_full_work=true It is a Lucius/Harry fic and was the first I ever read of this pairing and this length. It is still the 2nd longest fic I’ve ever read but it was so amazing. This story is what really made me fall in love with this pairing and with other ships in the Potter!verse. I think this fic deserves all the acclaim it receives.

You should read The Prince and The Falcon.

Do you ever read a fanfic and think the story/plot is really good, but has nothing to do with the fandom it comes from? (obviously talking about an AU here). Because I'm currently reading a fascinating fanfic (about an artist who subs to a man in a wheelchair (his dom)), but I don't want to recommend it as it's very disloyal to it's fandom. So I'm wondering how others deal with that. Again I would recommend as a story to read, as the character growth in it is great... it's just not their original characterizations (except for 1 side character who has remained mostly the same).

Hi!! So a recommendation for a bit of a longer story that just ended recently.(FFN.net) 'Of your Making ' by purplewitch156 is a Tommary Canon divergent fic that explorers the relationship between Harry and Tom at the Battle of Hogwarts. Its very good.

Read the Ariel fic, so sad and beautifully written. These were some great recs. I would recommend 'Dead Air' by Parsec. A creepy PPG fic, no pairing but chilling (2,781 words).
