About two months before this show, my father passed away in Washington. When I came home to Philly, my awesome friends all wanted to know what they could do to support me. The only thing I could think of was, “come to see Animal Collective at the Starlight with me.” Somewhere in the back of this crowd is me dancing my grief out and just losing it.

I saw a show on this tour. They set up all their own lights and shit. It was so low key and low budget. You can’t tell, but the levels of bass was INSANE. My skin and skull vibrated the whole f’ing time.
