I live in Ohio and I remember going to Limited Too in the mall and they had Animal Crossing toys really similar to this if not the exact same. I remember they were the tiny figurines and some came with a house or others with furniture. EDIT: this was years ago when I was like 2007 or 2008
You can just tell how into this he is about it from him delaying it for new horizons to his very detailed descriptions and explanations. This video is just so pure.
I almost owned these sets but I couldn’t get them when I was younger because my family didn’t trust ebay .. this was back when they were very cheap as well.
Good Lord Chad, this was the most relaxing, calm, and honestly brilliant videos I’ve seen. I just felt at home and warm learning about these figures and seeing the display. Great job!
I got some major Mr. Roger's Neighborhood vibes at the end of your video with the zoomed in shots of your town. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but it was awesome!
I SO thought this too until he announced he was married and has been this whole time, and showed her on screen. He's also like, 30 too which I didn't expect either.
How can he not be married when he owns a rare Animal Crossing playset. I'd marry him! Just kidding lol I have an amazing boyfriend. He got me an N64 for Christmas this year so he is also definitely husband material. 😍
I think it would be awesome if they released a new version of this. It’s a lot more popular now and I think a lot of people would like to have something like this. I also suspect it’s hard to buy this original set since it was only released in japan and is from 2001.
@@whyamialive200 Really? That sounds false, considering the truth of the OP's statement. It's definitely not a sarcastic meme. (This is also totally not sarcasm.)
So, I just saw this video today. Oh the sweet memories. I literally cried the day I sold my Game Cube. I have 100's of e-reader cards still and my memory cards that hold my towns because, you never know..... And I spent hours re-creating a pattern of realistic Ozzy Osbourne portrait from Nintendo Power Magazine. I have never seen this set of toys 😁 It's a good thing, I don't have room! Thanks for your humor, I have many bursts of laughter watching you!
At 10:13, these are the list of villagers from front to back: First Row: Bunnie, Rosie, Emerald, Cheri, Roald, Freya, Pecan, Purll, Olivia (I believe as there is no other's that match this look), Rover. Second Row: Cookie, Goldie, Dora, Dotty, Jay, Maddie, Bill, Chevre (hard to see but definitely her), Maple Third Row: Blaire, Kody, Midge, Bob, Peanut, Punchy, Carmen (hard to see but only mouse with hair on top), Aurora, Sally Characters that I wish were part of this toy set: Curly, Nibbles, Savannah, Tom, Hugh, Spork, Hambo, Sue E, Mitzi, Static
Fun fact for this old video. The set is called 森をつくろう, which I believe means "Let's build the forest." Animal Crossing in Japanese is どうぶつの森 or "Animal Forest" which explains the name.
The Punchy figure from this set is at the top of my list for any sort of game merch but he's so hard to find! He's my all time favorite villager and I do have his e-reader card but adding the toy to my collection of Punchy fan works would be amazing. I was very happy to see him in your collection!
I hope they manufacture something similar to this for the new games! I love these so much. I want them but assume they were $$$$ Ps I really liked the way this was shot and editted. Very calm and relaxing 🥰
I really just LOVED this video! I really like Chilltronic taking me through some interesting toy media and showing me all the cool features and items. Spectacular video, keep up the good work!
remembering a certain OTHER animal crossing video, i had to pause and go through the previews because i was very afraid he would destroy the set... instead i got a very kind & gentle video full of passion & i loved it
Not into Animal Crossing, but this episode makes me acknowledge how Chadtronic is the world's most wholesome manchild. It's really something when he makes a calm video talking about nostalgic toys as himself instead of his usual loud & hyperactive on-camera character.
I'm glad to see someone else who isn't head-over-heels in love with Isabelle. It seems everyone I run into can't live without her. I was lowkey hoping she wasn't in New Horizons, but she was confirmed to be...
I not only knew about these but my husband tracked down one of the miniature bundle sets! It's complete in box, and I never opened it. It sits on my dresser with the rest of my animal crossing collection
I ALWAYS wanted one of these sets as a kid. I was probably about 8 years old and found them on eBay. I begged my parents to let me order one but was always unsuccessful :(
I remember seeing playsets in a Japanese merch store based on Zelda: The Wind Waker where you can have an Outset Island playset with Link, a house and Ganondorf grinning like an idiot. There was a hilarious image on the box of Ganondorf hiding in Link's house.
I love how hilarious your videos are Chad, but I gotta say this one was a breath of fresh air. You can tell Animal Crossing is something that's special to you. From the music, the editing, and how you talk about it. A great watch for sure. Only been a subscriber for 2 weeks but I have watched EVERY video you've made since the start in chronological order. I think I found you through BrutalMoose (who I found through Caddicarus, man I love the gaming/retro-inspired community). Going through a rough time right now in my life and your videos have helped shine light and helped me get some much needed laughs in, cheers.
I HAD THIS GROWING UP !! It sold in Asian stores in Hawaii. I’m Japanese so I went to those stores often. I have this somewhere still but I don’t think I can find all the pieces. This is so nostalgic!!
This is so frickin amazing! I would have LOVED something like that as a kid! Heck i'd still wish i could get my hands on that just to put up a diorama with it and place it in a display case
I have this set!!! I have the post office, pink house and two variety sets. I had the ereader cards for Rover, Kappin and I think... Errr was it the Cooper?
11:14 that camo outfit and the flame shirt were always my favorite. Also that flooring and the walls I believe that's supposed to be the cabin on the GBA Island
Thank you so much for showing this to us. I respect you and your wife for the time you've spent with this set. I can honestly tell it means a lot to the both of you. Cheers
I'm actually very pleasantly surprised with how professional Chad's review videos have gotten. The viewing experience is so relaxing and fun in this format.
