wow this is exactly the tutorial i've been hoping to find and hadn't been able to find in a solid week of searching! thank you so much for taking the time to film this tutorial, it's perfect in every way!
This really was super helpful! I've been toying with the idea of making my own case, but somehow I couldn't connect my schematics to the application. I think it might've been the fold over that got me, but I digress. If it isn't much trouble, could I ask roughly how much fabric was used for the canvas portion and how much for the felt? If I make this, I don't want much excess left to waste. This would be the perfect gift for my brother since he keeps stealing my oven mitts for impromptu cases whenever he takes our switch to his friend's place...of course, he never returns them either...
This tutorial is amazing ,very beginner friend and absolutely understandable without needing anymore explaining ,I love it, please keep up the good work!!!
What you made was really impressive! Although I don't think this case is really as effective at protecting the switch (except from dust), I think that you put a lot of work into it and the result is just incredible. The leaf design is so neat!
Yeah this definitely a great job and what could be added is some type of durable yet sort of flexible plastic on the inside to help protect the body of the Switch and add pockets for extra stuff
You can't believe how hhappy I am that you are back. I have so much time on my hand now to make game-related crafts for all my friends 'thanks' to quarantine and your videos :D
There is this transferpaper that lets you transfer any image you print onto a fabric (by ironing it/heating it up), if you use that you can get pretty much any image you want on your case. Could be cool too if you'd like a different design!
Just to save a bit of time I found it handy to sew the inner lining to the outside layer before adding the zipper just to save a bit of time. But I know some people's machines may not be able to handle the bulk, so the original way works well too. 😁
Okay, uh, not to bother too much hopefully, but quick question: Would a fat quarter of fabric be enough for canvas piece you demonstrated? I have a plan for the construction, but I wanted to at least ask if 18"x18" was a good piece to work with as far as the canvas piece went.
TsukiyoTenshi I haven’t made this case yet, but as a person who likes to sew a lot, I can say a fat quarter should be enough for this project, and you’ll still have some fabric left over. Even more so if you have a lite rather than the regular switch. Good luck!
