Zain was clear victor in this debate. Gangs of Wasseypur was a revenge film and Sardar Khan's father was his only family, it never intended to push a father son bond. Animal on the otherhand marketed itself as a movie that will dive deep into that bond but never did

that was the whole point. Its subtle. He was never there in his life. He is product of child abuse and negligence . Mostly Negligence. Thats what lead it to his desperation or obsession. On the other hand neither did he got validation from his father. Zain do not want the lead to have an opinion different from his father which is very pathetic. He is shown since childhood to be the smartest person. He knew what needed to be done unlike father who literally kept a snake closer to his chest. So tell me why would he listen to his father. His sister was getting ragged while his father was absent. Why would he listen to his father. Thats the whole point of the film. He wanted his father to listen to him. Priorities him over everyone else which his father never did. Just watch the film. Zain's arguement was very pathetic. The relationship is deliberately shown very cold and awkward for a reason. Its very subtle instead of in your face. Watch the movie again. Nope he didn't. His take on the movie was very superficial and dismissive. Like why police wasn't there. Because it was his hotel in the first place. Second he disposed the body of his Jija. Its implied time and again. He comes from a rich family . Father literally pointing out that if it wasn't for him he would be in jail which points out to their influence. Even the college was owned by his father where his sister went. So they did not show police. But it was established that narrative was set for them. That interval block itself is seen as an act of self defence. So no there was no plothole. But one thing that you need to understand its a character driven film not story driven. Story is in service of character, not the other way around.. not just that, even his bond with his father is purely based on the principal of biological. He have a certain image of great father which his father do not fit into. But he desperately wants to push him into that mold. This movie has a lot of detailing. Sadly Zain just made superficial remarks without paying attention to alot of details

I really felt the movie was so strong in terms of story, build ups , characterization ,looks of the actor playing the role ,locations and many more things. the movie was meant for new world which we were craving to engrossed. zain really missed the trick here by not actually understanding the whole plot and missed analysis of small details. it can easily been depicted that zain dont used a brain while watching this movie so its tough for him to understand the detailing of this movie and keep focusing on pure movie 'mai police kaha hai'🤣🤣 .its indian version of business' and mafia movie not actually a father son love story

@@pratsprofession5692 i dont blame him. These guys are so use to spoonfeeding. They missed the subtlety in the film. And became dismissive about it. He was saying there are crude sex jokes on women. I mean he is a guy. Thats how mostly boys talk heppen especially if the boys are some kind of gang members. I mean what did he expect, them to crack jokes on some philosophical level or something. They literally comes from village. Ofcourse the humour will be crude. The complains are just too childish from Zain. I did not actually expect that from him. The film is very subtle. If looked closely, it has answered each and every question from police not being there to his father son relationship exploration, to everything. @@pratsprofession5692 exactly. I mean it was his hotel to start with. He disposed the body of his jija and those who were kild with him. As for those bodies in interval block. It was seen as an act of teror which again was in his own hotel. His father was literally shot. It was obviously seen as an act of self defence. He thinks rich guys can't hire private security with guns. I mean its just lazy reviewing. Even the action in college is owned by his father. And his father literally tellls him that if it wasn't for him he would be in jail which also implies there influence. I mean would those incidents be hard for him to twist in his favour. @@thethreespikes9737 again and for the last time! we are not talking about their relationship, we are talking about the building of animal out of Ranbir Kapoor, just one scene of father son relation was not shown when he was kid. You cannot connect emotionally to Ranbir when he is crying all the time for his dad when his dad's screen presence is almost zero, same treatment with bobby deol he should have atleast some emotional connect with the audience and trust me it didnt hurt much to the audience when he died, but director chose to play the bpraak song on background was also cringy. All in all movie is good action set a new dimension for bollywood, yet it was not upto the mark when story telling with intensity lacks completely. and I blame it all on the runtime of the movie, but second half was lethargic. 3/5 stars is fine for it but you cant give it 5/5 like gangs of wasseypur
@thethreespikes9737
@thethreespikes9737 6 месяцев назад
@@amandeepofficial He was animal from the beginning. He just kept himself tamed. That was the whole point. Go watch the film. He literally brought a gun in college premise. He was impulsive. It was shown in very subtle way. He doesn't want you to connect to Ranbir's character. Thats why every ounce of sympathy was taken away from you. Even the Zoya plot served that. People like first half because he was shown as heroic in that. His toxic traits were presented in very protective way. You even justify him kiling his jija. But the second half is where the depth comes in where his protective traits itself becomes borderline abusive in his obsession. His character is constantly falling throughout the second half. The trajectory is shown downward. Its not his problem you people crave in your face stuff instead of subtle. He literally says in the end. Do you know why I love you so much. I dont even have answer for that. The issue is you want to romanticise the character, hence you want to build a sympathy narrative for him through his father. But director wanted to strip him from every sympathy. He succeeds. He is a guy who acts out of impulse rather than intellect despite being smart. Zain had pathetic arguements. He wanted loud display of it. But director wanted to subtly showcase it. He did an excellent job. There is a lot of detailing and unsaid things between the two. Its a deeply layered relationship.

that was the whole point. The absence of Father-Son bonds can be traced back to the beginning of the cinema, where it is evident that the father failed to allocate time, even on his son's birthday. The narrative unfolds further with a sister scene, where the protagonist assumes the role of a guardian. However, despite his efforts, he is not rewarded with the desired praise and is subsequently sent to a boarding school. The 60th birthday reunion with Ranvijay from the USA aims to rebuild the strained relationship, only to face another separation orchestrated by the father, this time lasting for 8 years. Given this context, the director grapples with the challenge of exploring a father-son relationship that seems unidirectional, characterized by one-sided love.

It is exactly based on that. Even now every son can relate to this that they can count the heart to heart talk with their father. But that doesn't mean that they are connected less with the father. They can literally kill for it. That's exactly what represented.

The story could've been more intese rather than showing sexiest things. I'm agree that if Vanga didn't take the criticism seriously and the movie was around 3 hours it could've been one of the best cinematic experience for this year. Still it's pretty enjoyable to watch.

They did show that twice - once just after the fight between Ranbir rashmika, when kids intervene & Ranbir hugs his son to convince everything is fine. Second - in the climax, when the son comes running to hug him back. Isse zaada dikhaane ki zaroorat nhi thi. I agree with Zain that Vanga is a brilliant filmmaker, he knows how to make people connect and feel those emotions. The movie would've truly been a masterpiece had he focussed on making a good movie rather than a statement. So many scenes of Ranbir and Rashmika were so unnecessary and didn't add anything to the plot - the bra strap scene, church scene, hugging in the bra scene, argument scene with pad changing dialogue. They literally showed nothing except the fact that Ranbir's character is going crazy and his relationship with Rashmika is worsening but her relationship with Rashmika isn't the core part of the movie. Instead of those scenes more scenes father son bond, and bobby deol could've been put.
@kshitijonkar5223
@kshitijonkar5223 6 месяцев назад
You think bra strap, church, and hugging in bra was not necessary because you didn’t get the details of story. Bra strap - he was served and sign language, he already lost senses.. on top of that his wife added extra salt. He is frustrated hence he did so.. he started in playful way later intense, got a slap and smiled. Church - if u notice he says, there is no redemption. He is an animal. Hugging scene - he has grown fat and he appreciated his wife that she looks fab after 2 kids.. he is actually low he doesn’t show and tries to be strong. He emotionally weak at that point. To understand the details you will have to understand what director wants to convey. There are several small things which subconsciously build the character. I agree that for a viewer, it would feel unnecessary but it is director’s movie and the screenplay has it. Do watch all cast interviews, you will get more details
@negativeefforts6798
@negativeefforts6798 6 месяцев назад
If cast interviews are important to understand the movie, then append the interviews to the movie in the theatre. A movie should be well isolated in itself. Also, I understand why the director wrote the 3 scenes you had mentioned but they shouldn't have made precedence in the final edit over scenes with Anil and Bobby's backstory. Eg. They made a 3-4 minute scene showing him pleading the cousins to join him but there was just a voice-over of Bobby being related?
@kshitijonkar5223
@kshitijonkar5223 6 месяцев назад
@@negativeefforts6798 I didn’t mean cast interviews are important. That I said if you want to know more. In no movie you get to know all details. I said subconsciously character is build. I watched it 3 times then I got to know many things and when I watched interviews I got a lot more. What you think is necessary or not is subjective. Movies are subjective. Overall movie was engaging.. no movie is perfect. It has flaws and will have director’s bias. To judge the entire movie on few areas is not fair.
