They're extremely technical progressive metal band. Just three person; arguably world best guitarist with 8 string guitar and another incredible 8 string guitarist nearly as good like the other. And of course arguably world best drummer. So you can check live stuff, then you can see what I meant.

The drummer Matt has a legitimate case to be considered the best technical drummer on the planet at the moment. Watch some of his playthroughs sometime. They're otherworldly.

Time to watch some drum playthroughs by Matt Garstka and some live stuff to see them pull this off live. Last year, they opened for Dream Theater on the Dream Sonic tour and killed it!

I loved it when you thought it was just the intro and the singing never started. AAL are an acquired taste, but they're masters of their instruments. You guys are a bassist and drummer? You know what, I was at a concert this weekend where I was surprised by a band I never saw before - 1 drummer and 2 bassists. No singer, no guitar... nothing. You could feel like every note they played just go through your body, it was something else. Would I listen to it often? No... but it was certainly an interesting experience. They're called The Omnific and their drummer has a glorious mullet :D If you're curious, check out The Omnific - Phat Mackerel on RU-vid. I just saw it, it was a pretty funny clip.

First time listening to AAL? You got a little rabbit hole to travel down. Matt Gartzka is the one. Not my quite my favorite drummer but probably the best out there.
