@@Rgoid Tim Curry truly is one of best legends at voicing villains such as Evil Manta from little mermaid the series. I still feel bad that he’s in a wheelchair now but hope he stays healthy and lives a full life 🖖😇
Hans Conried of course is the original and the bar-setter as it were and a fantastic and unforgettable performance, but Corey Burton has voiced Hook in everything since, the second film, the TV shows, in Disney theme parks and much more so that his voice has been cemented as the iconic voice for Hook. It's no lie that Burton's Hook differs a bit from Conried's, but he captured the essence of Hook's voice, his intonations, tone and speech patterns. I think my main criticism of Burton's Hook has always been that he makes Hook sound foreign, like he has a strong accent. Conried had that high society, posh accent, but Burton's imitation definitely feels slightly foreign.
@@worldsgreatestimpressionis6462 As a British person, I can't agree that he sounds British. He almost sounds Eastern European with some of his vowel sounds. It's a mix-match I suppose!
He sounds “foreign” in both voices to me whatever that means. I mean they are from London right? And Hook almost comes off as Spaniard in appearance. He has a slight accent.
The late Hans Conried was well remembered to people but Corey Burton (Shockwave/Count Dooku/Megatron/Malware/Brainstorm) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) will be my favorite voices for Captain Hook.
I love Hans Conried as the voice of Captain Hook from Walt Disney's Peter Pan and Corey Burton as the voice of Captain Hook from Disney's Peter Pan in Return to Neverland, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, House of Mouse and Mickey's House of Villains.
Tom was miscast. Sorry, but it didn't feel like the same version of the character. It felt like "star casting" But yeah Hans was spot on casting. Corey Burton is the perfect replacement
Hans Conried potrayed Hook perfectly as the scurvy, underhanded, and cowardly pirate captain. Tim Curry runs a close second, he always has a knack for voicing villains. Corey Burton is a good Hans Conried sound alike but at times it becomes very easy to recognize him. Michael Dobson could be so much better if he had better material and direction. And Tom Hiddleston, I'm not gonna even pretend I know what they were going for there.
And Corey Burton was better as King Stefan in Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams than Taylor Holmes who isn’t so well known because he replaced Hans Conried for that tole making an unsolved mystery of Lord Duke’s voice, though Duke sounds kinda like Conried in higher tone because of the Mid Atlantic accent. That was the worst mistake in Sleeping Beauty: Stefan being voiced by Taylor Holmes, not Hans Conried who, in fact, would have been much better as King Stefan and that Taylor Holmes would have been better just as Lord Duke.
In the Disney adaptations, the late Hans Conried voiced Hook in the original movie. After Conried passed away in 1982, Corey Burton inherited the role voicing Hook in Saturday morning type cartoons, video games and Return To Neverland. Tom Hiddleston voiced a younger Hook in one of the Disney Fairies movies, The Pirate Fairy.
Hans Conried did the cowardly Spaniard well, and I'd honestly forgotten about that. I hadn't heard his rendition of Hook since I was a kid, was too familiar with Burton's (which imo was just meh at best). Tim Curry was memorable, and the brutal Englishman was a very different character but in many ways a much better one. Burton just butchered Conried's version of Hook, and I don't want to hear it in any more crossovers. Just restyle him, do something new, nobody's going to be able to do Conried's version justice.
For me, Cory Burton is definitely who I think of when I hear Captain Hook. But that’s mostly because I haven’t seen the original film in so long, and play kingdom hearts way too much.
Tim Curry. Hans Conried (and following him Corey Burton) just doesn't hold up for me after all these years. Michael Dobson and Tom Hiddleston are bland.
