this class showed me how important it would be if you could create a class teaching how to make a sliding door with configurable number of leaves. The same applies to a repeating floor or cladding, perhaps roof framing. already grateful
Thank you for this video. I'm going to use this not for doors, but for my other moving parts of my shop projects. It will remove lots of trial and error. Excellent video.
First of all thank you for explaining in such simple terms. I have one question though. What if I would like the door leaf to rotate towards right. the origin point being the right bottom corner swinging towards right direction.
Not quite sure but how I could use this yet, I think it would be a good way to demonstrate mechanical things in Arch class, like a custom door or window, sliding or hidden built in furniture and components ect.
what if I make propellar for drone motors which function do I have to set? Again animation like you did or another? I am newbie, if it's easy to do please be kind :) Have a nice day!
being new to sketchup, great videos makes my work-flow so much easier! question, currently working on a project and can't figure out how to make a horseshoe shaped object into a wedge shape. pls help. i can message you if its easier that way. pls lmk TIA!!
If you have multiple instances of the same dynamic component, does sketchup HAVE to rename it to a unique name like if you use different options of the dynamic? for example, I made 1 door, put it in my model 10 times, and individually clicked on a couple doors to open them. So now I have components named Standard Door, Standard Door #1, Standard Door #2, etc... Its making my components in model list too confusing! can you make it so Sketchup doesn't make the components unique? technically, they're the same component
I've not done much SketchUp recently, last time I used animate functions to slide objects, there was a problem that it would randomly change to different positions along the chosen axis. Took a lot of trial & error & Google searches. But apparently there is (was) a problem if you chose metric in dynamic component , even if your project was defined in metric. If you switch to imperial, it functioned correctly. Is this still a SketchUp dynamic problem or is it fixed now since 2020 build?
This really helped with showing door opening on an alcove unit and wardrobe fir a client. What about how to make drawers open and close. Could you show a video on that to please 🙏
this does not work, the last number doesn't even matter to sketchup it just always goes to the 0 on the axis even if you set the new origin to the component
