Great video! It's crazy to see how far animation has come! As for my personal favourite animated movie, Finding Nemo is one at the top of my list! Specifically, the scene when Marlin and Dory meet the turtles Crush and Squirt and are riding the EAC (East Australian Current).

Enjoying the video production is so much fun. I feel traditional animation will still hold a space in the market, even with the strong impact coming from AR/VR

I LOVE animated movies but never knew anything about the innovation or "science" behind it. All the information you shared makes me look at this industry in a new light. Thanks for Sharing!!

I remember seeing Toy Story in theatres as a kid - obviously didn't appreciate all the technological advancements involved. I find watching the Simpsons is an interesting way to see how much animation has evolved over the years from when the show started until now

Great video. I'm excited for animated movies in VR. I think that would be quite the experience. One thing that I really like about Anime is that it has pushed the boundaries of animation and made "cartoons" socially acceptable for adults and not just Children. It is an amazing medium which opens up literally any scene or effects without the need for costly sets or special effects, enabling exciting stories, environments, and imagination that is often much tamer in western media..

So many great animated movies, it's difficult to choose a favourite! Pixar simply does not miss, but there are so many others as well. It's interesting to see the wide variation in animation styles watching shorts like Love, Death + Robots and the comic-book style animation in the Spiderverse movies!

Interesting topic. Would be interesting to not only see how future innovation in this field will push the boundaries of imagination and create immersive worlds that captivate audiences across generations, but also how audiences respond to this innovation.

The video not only resonates to those who grew up watching cartoons, but it also introduces these beloved characters and topics to a new generation. It piques young viewers' curiosity and attention, inspiring them to investigate and appreciate the timeless masterpieces that formed our own childhoods.

Some favourite animated films include 'Loving Vincent' (check this one out if you haven't heard of it; simply breathtaking), classic Disney (eg. Alice in Wonderland and the Jungle Book) and the Disney Renaissance era (eg. Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame). I also love Studio Ghibli films, notably Porco Rosso, Whisper of the Heart, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. I love the field of animation! It provides such an open, creative outlet for expression and is inherently engrossing. In terms of 'bottom line thinking,' nothing captures the attention of the masses more than novel ideas, such as those possible through the use of animation. This is because animation is art, and it challenges us to embrace our fear of the unknown because ANYTHING can happen. Therefore, I am very pleased that the use of generative AI was not discussed in this video because, although it is much cheaper and may lead to greater margins on paper, I believe that the heart and soul of this artistic field would be lost. Therefore, I am skeptical of AI's ability to make us 'feel.'

Growing up I always thought the Disney movies were amazing! Now comparing them to today's technology, it wasn't that great comparatively, so it will be interesting to see what animation looks like in 30+ years from now. Good subject!

Really cool subject to talk about! I remember watching classic Disney cartoons when I grew up and specifically thinking how incredible watching Monsters Inc. was when it was released. It seemed like you could actually touch the monsters fur and could see how fluffy it was on screen.

Monsters Inc. was one of my favs too! I can't imagine how realistic those characters would look now in 4D!

It's interesting how when you watch old movies you can tell if it used cell animation. For computer animations it's amazing how far it's come when you consider that the first Toy Story they couldn't model liquid to now days where entire movies are shot on computer generated oceans.
