Watching this video completely blew my mind. I had a feeling the scenery of Plamemo had something to it, but I wouldn't have guessed it was based on Singapore. The only place I actively recognized were the trees in that amusement park looking like the ones in Gardens by the Bay, but I just thought that was a coincidence. I've actually been to the Marina Bay Sands mall and seeing it side-by-side with the anime scene completely dumbfounded me.

This is my favourite anime. ok just seen episode 11 itself. from the screenshot Isla is walking away from the ArtScience Museum down the side of Marina Bay Sands. BUT a few seconds after that shot, you see the 4x bigger Flyer across the bay where Isla is walking, behind other buildings, probably where Clarke Quay is supposed to be

The only one I recognized was the 'trees' in Gardens By the Bay. I knew they looked familiar to it but i thought it was just a coincidence, didn't actually expect the whole anime to be based in that country.

Who knew that the creator actually put real places in the anime.

Since people are still commenting I thought I would just say that I am british and so hello to my western asain couson lol. There is currently acording to trip advisor 1 food outlets serving british food for every 33 chinese ones, now that may seem low in hencing the british emperial control in Singapore over the years but it still amounts up to 3% of the total chinese ones in comparison or 47 English serving outlets to 1557 which isn't really that bad, of course the most english friendly food place in Asia is Hongkong for a similar reason (over 90 british food serving outlets), but most of would sees that as part of China. I would like to visit this country some some "plastic memorys" at some point in my life, of course not at least untill Japan though. I can never unsee this anime when thinking of Singapore and I will location hunt if and when I eventually will do.

Idk you would it a shopping mall and not a shopping centre when you was formerly ruled by the British and not the Americans, anyway yes I am a native brit my self and it is nice to know that our countries highly visit each other, hopefully one day I can visit as this country is very nice in genral being highly developed, very clean and so on. Plastic memorys is also another reason as well and will be a main one to visit here needless to say. I guess as well that Singapore must be into gardens which must also be done to the former british rule since they tend to be a western thing needless to say and which also will explain why there are alot of pubs (again which I trust a british ruled nation to say instead of "bars" as well. I hope to visit some time in the future though not before Japan of course.
