Yes, please do the Manga vs Novel video that would be super interesting! Also a video (or another video) on all the scenes of Kirito and Asuna which season 3/4 of the anime cut out would be dope. I am still disappointed by that.
I read the first volume of the sao progressive manga so i can tell already that they made a lot of changes in the movie. I dont mind kirito not being the focus bcuz i like asuna too and i feel like weve gotten alot from kirito. They couldve fleshed his character out more but oh well. I need to see this i just need to
You had me at Asuna ❤️ , It makes me so freaking happy that so much of the start is about Asuna ! Your video has me so hyped , I hope it makes it over in the US in the not so distant future I need a SAO movie in my life right about now ! Makes me so happy to be watching an SAO video again !
Glad you had fun. The movie looks great and excited to see it for myself. Also, I hope you feel better soon. Your work and passion are appreciated in this corner of youtube.
Super excited to be watching SAO again! I really hope this leads to more in the future. Kinda sad to hear about Argo though. She quickly became one of my favorite characters after reading the progressive LNs.
I'm so hyped for this movie!! I really hope that they did the progressive novels justice and that hopefully we get a progressive anime series or multiple films from it. The Aincrad arc is without a doubt SAO's best and my interest slowly faded ever since they left. Also I personally preferred the art style and animation in general of the original Aincrad arc from season 1, but hopefully I'll still love it in the Progressive film. Also I'd love to see a LN/Manga comparison for SAO!!
I want to ask you, if this SAO Progressive plot is between SAO 12 episode in season 1 right? This movie which adapting the LN is supposed to tell us about Asuna's struggle in Aincrad right? so it's canon not spin off?
@@user-C8881 Yeah SAO Progressive is canon. It basically adds in a lot more details the first few LNs left out. You know how in the OG SAO arc there’s lots of jumps between the floors? Well Progressive sort of fixes that by going at a much slower pace. It retells the story of SAO, Kirito and Asuna with more details. Each volume only covers 1 or 2 floors of the game. I only read parts of the first volume but I remember that whole volume focusing on just one of the floor bosses. It went into detail on how Kirito would prepare, more characters get more screen time, that sort of thing.
I'm pretty sure they'll just do the gardening quest through a flashback as you said next movie/series and Argo appearing there as well. It's true that I would have liked they had given Kirito more screentime as you say to explore him more as in the LNs, but I'm confident they will do a good job in the following ones. And they will shift the focus from Asuna to both of them, most likely. I hope.
Why do I get the feeling that,"Kirito will Return" after I finish watching SAO Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night? This Movie is about Sword Art Online tale that starts at the beginning of Kirito and Asuna’s epic adventure-on the very first level of the deadly world of Aincrad!
The apparent lack of Argo in this is pretty disappointing, since she's my favorite character and I've been dying to see her finally get adapted on screen the way she deserves, but HOPEFULLY they don't cut her completely from any future Progressive adaptations. Like, I can understand not featuring her in a movie that's apparently centered on Asuna and Mito, since Argo's interactions were (largely) with Kirito during Aria, but she's such a vital character moving forward that if they cut her I'll be extremely angry.
Argo didn't really show up until what was effectively the end of episode 1 which would be the end of starless night for the most part, and even then she was kiritos friend, not asuna's (at first)
@@dickurkel6910 Yes, I was super excited when she finally appeared at the end of the movie. I'm also hyped for her having a larger role in the upcoming Scherzo movie!
As someone who's favorite arc was Mother's Rosario, I'm all for this direction, there's plenty of time for more Kirito later. Sad that there will be less Argo, but even in the LN, she was mostly just introduced in the first one. (Maybe we'll get Reason for the Whiskers as some kind of between movie short or something?) So long as Kizmel doesn't get cut from the later story for some reason, I don't think I'll mind the changes at all. For movies/T.V, honestly, I'm fine with movies. If it was an anime, we'd get 3, maybe 4 seasons before it was caught up. I feel like if they keep doing it as movies, we'll get a steady stream of them as time goes on and Reki will have a reasonable amount of time to keep Progressive ahead of the movies. (He's been pretty inconsistent with Progressive updates over the years.)
I've been so excited to watch this since it was announced! And I'm so glad to hear all of the positives you have to say about this too. The day can't come any quicker
Honestly I am kirito to fan. But they did tell us from day one that the story is from asuna's point of view. I am a asauna fan. Back will think they would have fix the part where kirito train to show us how he really levled up in the anime too.
I very much enjoyed the movie after recently finishing the first sao progressive book and then rewatching the first episodes of the anime. Can't wait to see the other movies!
I just finished watching Alicization and I am sooo excited for this movie! Ive always loved Asuna's character and am very happy im gonna get to delve deeper into her story. The Aincrad arc was definitely my favourite so it feels like home being able to see more of the Steel Castle in the sky.
Whats sad is that i think no other sao season will be as good as alicization. Like the animation will always get better but that damn story my god the author is so good not aot quality but good
Yo Foxen Anime, I really looking forward of seeing this Sword Art Online Progressive movie when it has Asuna Yuuki my🔥firedup 🔥Lovely Shisutā Lighting⚡Flash Swordwoman imouto-san's PoV and focus on her character development along with Mito her school friend. I want to see the relationship between the two of them and some moments with Kirito when he saves Asuna. I'm really getting🔥firedup🔥just thinking about This Sword Art Online Progressive Movie🥰💖😍💕.
Why isn’t there a review with spoilers?🤣I wanna know if Mito is just another great character Kawahara created just to kill her off in no time yet again😅😅😅 I’d be so annoyed if that were the case.
I just saw it hands down best story telling in an anime I seen this year with only 1:30 mins which is about 3-4 eps this was great made kirto more understandable for people who don’t get him asuna was amazing even the new character they added in was great
I honestly can't wait for this to come out here in Australia. I finally convinced my wife to watch season 3 of SAO and she fell in love with Asuna in that (as well as Alice); the moment I mentioned progressive the tickets to see this were already sold- or the blue-ray bought? It's a shame we don't get to see more interaction between Kirito and Asuna, but I'm still pumped. Thanks for the update Foxen. I also hope you're feeling a bit better soon. We're living through some tough times and it would be harder to do it in a foreign country, but things will get better :)
I’m excited for the movie but I hope that they’ll eventually get around to adding more Kirito. I’m fine with more Asuna but I am a Hard core Kirito fan
I would love a film or anime purely based on the games… Sounds sappy seeing everyone happy in this “timeline” but it’d be nice seeing Strea, Philla etc.
SO HYPED FOR ASUNA!! I was debating on reading the progressive novel because I wanted more aincrad/asuna immediately, but now I'm glad I waited. Going into this movie blind is gonna be way better!
I wasn't a big fan of Asuna since I like Alice and Sinon more...But I think after this movie, I will be a big Asuna fan.. Also I kinda want to rewatch whole SAO series with this movie..So what do you guys prefer? Watch the p movie and then start the s1 or watch the aincrad arc first and then movie ?
FINALLY! I kept this video on hold cuz situations around me prevented me from watching this video, but after finally watching it I feel SO relieved. I used to watch foxen videos the moment they were uploaded as a regular back some time ago, don’t know if your remember or not, but then life happens and suddenly you’re burdened with your future. Apart from that, great video, when someone usually says a movie review without any spoilers, I don’t trust them, but you’ve gained my trust over the previous videos and Id say it was pretty well done. Probably a little too late saying this but still thought I should get it out there. SAO has been part of my heart for a long while now and is pretty sad to see so many haters out there, but if you’re still supporting it, then I can proudly keep watching it. If times ever get too tough, then it is ok to take a break and Im pretty sure the guys around here would think so too. Keep well and encourage you to keep up the good work
I would say this may be just a stretch and knowing how much I love this series I can only imagine if they put this movie for the American or for the Japanese side in 4k Atmos now that would be awesome especially for people that own the home theater at their home. I'm probably one of those rare occasions where I will buy that on the spot awesome having that on physical disk just blow my mind. probably daydreaming to have it on 4K Blu-ray Atmos but you can only hope and dream.
My only complaint is that it isn’t gonna be both of their stories. I really want them to be equal parts not just Kirito or Asuna. But that’s the only thing I’m gonna be a little let down by. But at the same time we’ve seen Kiritos perspective so it doesn’t bug me that much. So as long as in future media they share screen time I will be over the moon. But the movie looks amazing. Also any update on the US release?
@@Juhinvr Kirito did die at the end of the Aincrad arc. Heathcliff (aka Akihiko Kayaba) Pierced his sword into Kirito & his health bar went down to 0, it even showed “game over” but Kirito used a hack to than kill Kayaba & freed the remaining players. He’s not invincible but super strong. If you have seen season three he almost dies a few times there.
But seriously, if they seriously cut the story so much, I hope they make a Progressive anime some day and start from the beginning. Kind of like how Dragon Ball Super retread the movie arcs.
I'm really excited to see Asuna but tired on seeing Kirito being mishandled, Its almost 9 years since S1, A-1 should really step their game and flash out him even more. I never get what stops them flashing out main characters and give them screentime? Althought I do have some hopes for 2nd movie and really happy to hear Asuna getting more screentime which she perfectly deserves
Movie is released ? I though it was going to release in October . If it’s released anyone know any online source to watch it free /English sub????? Can’t wait for it
So disappointed it's non canon, a majority of the SAO real fans consider a side effect timeliness like A Fate alternative story. Changing Plot points, making entire characters that don't even exist in any of the anime, manga, or even the light novel. There's a remake of the move being made by the fans removing the non Canon plots.
It saddens me that you said they won't include Argo outside of a cameo but I really hope they do actually make use of her in later movies in the Progressive series because she's actually kind of an important character from a story point of view... Also she does eventually start making a more pronounced appearance in the light novels so if they want to continue with animating the later light novels surely they have to introduce her as a character at some point so people who haven't read the light novels actually know how amazing it is that she's appearing.
looking forward to seeing this in October! the view of the movie i can understand, unless you've read the LN, no one knows how Asuna goes into SAO or her home life before she logs in. Kirito taking a back seat doesn't bother me much since everyone including him are exp grinding. i do wonder if they will show glimpses of Yuna and Nautilus before their incident(maybe in another movie), plus how much of the real world reactions to the "death game" will be showed as well in the movie.
I was very worried how the movie would be. The light novel has a lot of nuances regarding Asuna's motivation and thought process for essentially everything she does. But from what you have said, I am relieved to hear that the anime makes use of its advantage (aka the visuals) by which it will SHOW, not tell. This seems extremely promising to me. I'm really looking forward to the changes too; Kirito being virtually non-existent is a plus for me, since Aria of A Starless Night is essentially Asuna's origin story, and I appreciate the movie making it that way. Really hyped to watch this, hopefully it gets premiered in India!
