As an ARR sir fan, thank you Kumudam for this wonderful Interview and James Sir for his beautiful Music --- little fear about future Tamil music because of this generation taste towards sound rather than Music--- if fans restrict their views towards sound oriented songs, automatically today's sound producers will be in compulsion to give good music..... like James Sir said we should proud only whenever Good music comes.... at the same time its our duty to support Good Music Givers not sound producers, otherwise we will be the loser without Good Music in future...

Anirudh oru padathula oru paattu hit kodukuradhuke mukkuraan, adhuvum kaadhu koduthu keka mudiyala. Rahman andha kaalathula oru padathula 6 paattu potaa 6 paattum nalla irukum. Brahms but he belonged to the Romantic period There were other wonderful composers in the Classical period too - Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Handel, to name a few. Chopin was part of the Romantic period and died before he turned 40 and is one of my favorite WC composer. However, you keep hearing about the Classical period “big 3” of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. It is a personal choice I guess but the majority may be in favor of the “big 3”

Anirudh doesn’t know to make good music. Most of the times his soft songs also somehow gives out unpleasant sounds. He is not able to decide properly in bringing in appropriate sounds for most of the songs. He is a good singer. Yes somehow, whether he deserves or not, he is getting many movies to work. Better he learns music properly and composes good music to breed a good music listening audience group.

@@godsgift97520don’t waste your time. It is true that Rahman’s songs do not get the same attention that they used to or what Anirudh gets now, at least in RU-vid and other mass media. But that means nothing. Rahman, Raja, MSV are all above all these meaningless contests. They will forever be considered legends of Tamil film music. As James said, Anirudh (and his noise)will be forgotten soon. At the same stage of his career where Anirudh is currently at, Rahman was delivering blockbuster hits in Hindi and Tamil. He had already won a couple of national awards and pretty much all other big awards in India. Anirudh has done *nothing* like that so far.

Of course, but Rajni is music scientist. Proof: In the audio launch of Jailer, he said, “Anirudh is a combination of Ilayaraja and Rahman”. இதை விட இராஜா் மற்றும் இரஹ்மானை அசிங்கப்படுத்தவே முடியாது. At least, James is a composer. What are Rajni’s music credentials? Why was there no outburst when Rajni made that comment?

@@monkysonky but he has always been wholesome in his praise for MSV, Ilaiyaraaja, and AR Rahman. He has criticized Ilaiyaraaja, the person, for his remarks about Jesus’ resurrection as well as the way he treats singers and others. But he is an unabashed fan of his music and he has made that no secret. I don’t think he has ever spoken in a manner that may make anyone feel that he is better than either of Raja or Rahman. He always refers to MSV, Raja, and Rahman as the “holy trinity” of Tamil film music. So I am not sure why you think he talks that way.

தம்பி நீ வெறும் இசை வாத்தியார்தான் அதை முதலில் புரிஞ்சிக்கணும். என்னமோ சசிகுமார் வாய்ப்பு கொடுத்ததுனால மட்டும்தான், சுப்ரமணியபுரம் படம் கிடைச்சிது, வெறும் ரெண்டு பாட்டு சுமாராதான் இருந்திச்சி அத வச்சி நீ கொடுக்குற பில்டப் இருக்கே தாங்க முடியல. ரெண்டு பாட்டுக்கே இவ்வளவு திமிரா பேசும்போது இசைஞானிக்கு எவ்வளவு திமிர் இருக்கணும்? அவர் அப்படித்தான் திமிரா பேசுவார். குமுதம் சேனல் இந்த மாதிரியான அறிவு ஜீவியை பேட்டியை எடுத்ததன் மூலம் தனது தரத்தை குறைத்து விட்டது. எங்கள் இசைஞானி அப்படித்தான். அவரோட தீவிர ரசிகனான நானே இவ்வளவு திமிரா பேசும்போது அவருக்கு எப்படி இருக்கும். போய்யா போய்யா... ஜேம்ஸ் வசந்தனை ஒருமையில் விமர்சித்ததற்கு பெருமை கொள்கிறேன்.

I never liked what James said about Raja. He must have approached him for something and may have got snubbed. But it is a known fact that he is a crazy fan of Raja, the composer (who isn’t? Anyone who knows music ought to be). Even in this video, he keeps Raja in a pedestal. Not sure why he can just talk about his music and not see his personal side. Perhaps he was irked by his remarks on Jesus? Regardless, his comments in this video about Anirudh and his noise and state of current Tamil film music are correct.

அப்போ எந்த படத்துலயும் எந்த வேலையும் பாக்காம படத்தையும் படத்துல வேல பாக்குறவங்களையும் பெரும்பாலும் குறை சொல்ற பரத்வாஜ் ரங்கனும் மற்றும் பல விமர்சகர்களும் கூடத்தான் விமர்சனம் செய்ய தகுதியற்றவர்கள்னு சொல்லனும். ஜேம்சு வசந்தன் இளையராஜா என்ற தனிநபரை விமர்சிக்கவில்லை அவரின் இசையை விமர்சிக்கிறார் பொதுவெளியில் அவரது செயல்பாடுகளை விமர்சிக்கிறார் என்ற கோணத்தில் யோசித்தால் பல நன்மைகள் நடக்கும்.

@@IamMukesh8 some of us are not big into the “hero elevation” scenes much. Most of those scenes are contrived and trite anyway. Bedsides the definition of hero would differ between person to person. So those so-called “mass” BGMs are contrived and silly as well. Obviously, this is just for me and I totally understand that each person would have his/her own opinion. Seems like you aren’t a fan of his “songs”; I am sure there are others who like his “music”. Even Rajni said he is a combination of Ilayaraja and AR Rahman. I personally think it was a big insult to those two legends but many others obviously would disagree with me.

Anirudh’s high voltage outputs have got better than SaNa’s Kabali (neruppu da song especially, how erupting they are) and kaala? True, it is the audience who decides the fate of anything. Our tastes are so bad these days and we are making kings accordingly.
