Explanation! Despite not being able to cast magic due to having no affinity with spirits, Anis possesses a huge amount of magic power. So huge, in fact, that she had to place a limiter on her magic swords so she wouldn't accidentally break them.
@@daanduijkers4845 Well, not quite. The blade was designed to handle a certain amount of mana and anything more than that would wear it down quickly. The limiter is just a basic precaution to avoid overloading the blade, not specifically so that Anis doesn't break it. Not saying she _doesn't_ have a lot of mana to work with, but I doubt Anis is the only one who could overload a mana blade. Euphie could have probably switched places with her in this scenario and they still would have been fine, for example.

This is one of the best anime of the season because it actually spends the time establishing these two characters, their drives, identity, and flaws, before it throws them into a life-or-death battle. It takes the time to make you care about its heroines before putting them in jeopardy.
Too bad it kinda lost the ball near the end of the season. Not so much that I didn't stick through it and enjoy it to some extent, but I felt like a lot of its initial charm was lost for the finale.
Just add "The Sword of Promised Victory" remix from Fate/Zero and time it to start when the video reaches about 0:50 to make the scene even more epic lol
