She's in a class of her own that only few could even achieve. Who takes a long break in their music career and can still come back like it was yesterday? Ms. Anita can!
Saw Miss Baker twice in '93. She was in her 30's,very tiny and one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Got a chance to meet her outside of the rear entrance at the Fox Theater (Atlanta) as she was getting in the limo with her husband. I'll never forget it. it was raining really hard and she stood outside for those that waited on her. This was back when a lot of people did not know that they would exit from the rear entrance and speak to people if they were out there. But you had to wait about 45 minutes. Loll..I got a chance to hug her twice and man she smelled really good! People were not as crazy as they are now so she literally talked with and hug each one of us in the rain while her husband graciously held the umbrella. We were a group of about 20 and and those of us that wasnt shy literally got a chance to say everything that we wanted to say to her. I doubt if entertainers do that anymore....My dumb ass didn't bring a camera!! No camera phones back then... Mind you it was 20 degrees outside too loll....Thank you Ms Baker!! I'm a fan for life..GOod od bless you!!
FANTASTIC! I love the part at the 4:50 mark. This is the way music should be performed; with class, elegance, and creative brilliance. ALL HAIL TO ANITA!
this is an artist connecting with her crowd...look how the band is smilin and feelin' the groove...Anita is on all cylinders here despite the incredible hot night...this performance is TIGHT!
I have had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Baker in concert twice. One was at Radio City Music Hall and the other a free concert in Brooklyn. She was great at both shows, she gave her all at both events and the stage design was beautiful just like in this video. What a class act!!
WoW, they still doing Afram back there in Baltimore, that's what's up. Ya'll hold it down back there. Havn't been to Baltimore in a many years but that's still my hometown.
One beautiful classy lady, she should do a movie of her life i know it would be awesome, wow you can tell she really means when she sings about LOVE, you can see it in her eyes in her smile, in her body language and you can hear it in her voice, she is love*
I saw her in PHilly with Luther, man was she something else. I have never been to a better concert in my life. I was one of two white chicks in the entire building.
I was suppose to see her when she was at the Ravinia but didn't I was mad but if she ever comes to the Radisson in Indiana again im there its right down the street from me :-)
@destinyschild23 I was there. It was in Baltmore at the Afram Festival. She sounds soooo good. My stupid call phone would not let me record more than a minute!
I heard about her having a bad attitude. Something about a fan wanting an autograph and her snapping at her because the fan recognized her and asked her for an autograph she said she wasn't Anita an she didn't sign autographs. You never know what a person is going through. I love Anita but i did hear she had an attitude problem perhaps shes mellowed with age.
