Seeing this video has reminded me of the one time I witnessed her magic on stage at the Riverfront Amphitheater in Little Rock back in the late 80's. The way she works that stage is just like I remember it 20+ years ago. I think she even used the same "patting the top of her head" maneuver to get the sound board person to turn up her microphone. I've often wondered how large a recording studio room she'd need to get that same sensation. Same ol' Anita never sounded better!! DM&FS
I don't know why this woman isn't mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. Her rasp and tone is an absolute wonder of the world, one of my favorite vocalists of all time!
Whitney herself said in an interview she was a fan of Anita. I never understood the obsession for Aretha anyway. Many soul singers that are just as good or even better live. I'd rather listen to Whitney, Anita, Gladys, Tina, Roberta, Mavis, Etta, Irma..and many more. Also names that aren't as big but are brilliant. Margie Joseph and Barbara Lynn for example. Betty Wright was great too..so many brilliant singers.
...some po child didn't like this video...thank you Anita..glad you are back girl..love you lotz and foreva...missed you...keep singing for us to keep us going ... thank you stevie0323...bless you my sweet..:)
I also love this version of Same Ole Love !!! I have viewed it several times. I'm even up dancing with her. I Love this woman. TRULY THE DEFINITION OF A ELEGANT, CLASSY WOMAN WITH A SOULTRESS VOICE!!!!!!
Man Anita moving aint she. I love it!! that lady has soul and she know how to get lost in the music and rhythm. I Love her and her music so much :) I wish I could jam with her LOL
back in the day- people would talk about her amazing live performances. She never did anything to truly dance to, but thats a minor flaw, her entire lps were full of gems. I did a remix for her
Show Business is so funny...Anita Baker is one of the greatest voices of the 20th Century and I don't feel she gets the acknowledgement she deserves...she has stayed TRUE to herself, her fans and her craft since Chapter 8 days...man I been listening to Anita Baker for nearly 75% of my life I was in the audience at the Garden State Arts Center in NJ back in 1987-88,she did an encore of Been So Long and I lost it. I ran all the way down to the stage, fought my way to the front and did a singalong
She never gets it wrong. She never got the recognition she so deserves. Listen to the power in her voice and the way she glides up and down the stage giving it 101% I've never heard it said 'Oh Anita Baker's vocals were bad at this/that concert......' She's an absolute DIMOND. Keep it coming honey. Tnx 4 the upload. Fantastic.
She is a classy woman and her talent is rare ans inspiring. Love this ,,,loved her from the very beginning of her career. Thank you posting Peace to ya'll
She sounds AWESOME and she WORKED the stage like a true star. DAMN Anita is still wonderful. I would love to see her again for the last time I saw her it was in the 80s when she toured with Luther Vandross. She tore it up then and she's still tearing it up now. GO ANITA!!!!

i've yet to see her in concert, on tv only, no matter she is still a baddddddd assssss diva 4 sho, no 1 has her style, the only 1 who do is mary j, dats who she get her style from, i love anita baker- i will be 36 in dec and same ole love(365 days in a yr) is my favorite, loved the video she can skate.
I bet the band Chapter 8 hate they let her go, because she blow up as a solo act. My youngest uncle use to date her back in Detroit when she was in Chapter 8. He said they broke up because she was to into her music. He did say she was a good kisser.
They where very good, they just had bad management and poor exposure and they didn't feel like Anita Bakers singing style fit their band, so they replaced her, what a bad move.
I believe so. You might be able to get them from Amazon or Tower Records or your local record store that specializes in vinyl records, you know older music.
elrevoltoso Me to. I just can't get into these new recording stars music. A lot of the music today don't have any meaning or even make sense. I can't listen to any R&B today around my 7 year old because it's to sexual as well as the Rap and HipHop which is straight up garbage with a beat, as well as most not all of the performers. I grew up in the 70's and 80's generation X and I never thought I would dislike most of the music that's played on the radio. Love Jazz, Salsa, Classical, African, etc.
