You can see (in his facial expressions) when he is singing face to face with her that he is honored by her musical presence and the fact that she remade his song. Beautiful thing!
Halicia Yarbrough Yeah he was in awe and fumbling at the same time trying to figure out her improv he was seeing what elegance and grace looked like just like he said "the geatest to ever done it" that's class and respect
itsumbre because it's well preserved and taken care of. Her voice was never forced, stressed or strained just like Tina Turner's and that's why they still got it. And then there's Mariah Carey 😒😒😒
Was driving home from work one late night when i heard this song on the radio...I made it home before the song went off...so I just circled around the parking lot till it ended......the neighbors thought i was crazy..but that's how Anita leaves you...in a daze..
Oh my sweet mercy in all of heaven..... This woman's voice is friggin superb..... perfect, perfect, perfect.. distinctive.... one of the greatest voices EVER in all of history
+Bibo Briant you just have to listen really close dude all you have to do is just keep what you have to say to your self especially if you don't have a compliment to say.
Is it me, or is this the perfect compliment to Tyrese? We all know the brutha' can sang but when you've got legends and icons sampling your songs and doing it so effortlessly...., I think it's safe to say you've officially MADE IT!!!!
For those who keep saying Tyrese covered Anita's song, that is INCORRECT. She covered his song. He originally recorded this song in 1998. She recorded in 2012 for the first time.
Anita Baker has a singularly unique voice that gives you goosebumps as soon as she starts to sing....oh and homegirl with the camera lost her mind when Tyrese entered the stage couldn't tell up from down! Damn 🤣🤣
Apparently she thanks sade for her start. As record labels didnt like her voice until sade blew up. Not sure why. Still Sade and Anita Baker are my 2 fav female artists of all time
she is unmatched to me. In voice, in style in grace, in natural essence. I wish we had more performers that could embody this kind of passion, ingenuity and realness. I love you, Anita! Annndddd youre as beautiful as EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She totally changed this song and made it her own version. Anita Baker, Sade Adu, and Phyllis Hyman are the only female artist whose albums you can play 60 years from now and they won't ever sound dated, in particularly Anita because she doesn't follow trend music, gimmicks or anything like that which makes her music timeless.
This concert is one of the BEST & MOST MEMORABLE of my life. I brought 2 tickets for my mom & I ( I took her to a concert for Mother's Day & her birthday 5/7 every year). Unfortunately, she passed away just b4 the show on 4/25 2012. I went and enjoyed Anita anyway & felt my mom next to me doing the same. One of The Greatest Voices Ever Thank You Anita!!!
When I was in 8 the grade, I got in trouble for tapering off my hair in the back and on the sides. I wanted to be shaaaarrrppp and classy lady like her.... I almost lost my life..
i'm 24years old ,i don't know whether i'm falling inlove with her voice or her .... ,perhaps it's the fact that i'm also a musician....beautiful Anita beautiful
The Queen of Jazz and the Prince of R & B! What a lethal combination! SWEEEEET laka sugahcane....absolute pleasure...wish I could've been there! They need to bring that act to Jamaica. Speaking of which, Lady Anita graced our shores already...when yuh gonna come, Mr. Gibson? Cuando? Cuando? Cuando-oh?
anita one of the last things my mother wanted to see is you sing in rhode island before she died of cancer over27 years ago and voice hasnt changed a bit this video is awesome. god bless who made it.
WHAT MAKES THIS SO AMAZING IS THAT WHEN ANITA BAKER STARTED SINGING, TYRESE WASN'T EVEN BORN. TO BE ABLE TO DO A DUET WITH A LEGEND THAT PROCEEDED YOU AND STAND NEXT TO GREATNESS IS TRULY.INCREDIBLE.
Diaspora Wire Tv i seen her in concert here in detroit. You think you love her now? She has such a gift and a special presence about her. She sings from her heart and every song is performed probably better than the studio version from her vocals to the band She is literally an angel. You will fall in love with her in a different way after you've seen her in concert where her personality is present It is an experience and you get more than your moneys worth. Her concerts are intimate. She loves her band and she gets very excited on stage and she blames her band for playing so good lol she really loves to sing in concert. She will sometimes ask for request to perform songs that was not apart of the act.
She is an original. Got no credit as others have. Anita is the one you take to your bedroom alone to listen to. She soothes jagged wounds, scraped hearts, broken knees and get no credit for it. No More Tears should have been my anthem but...I always come back to her soothing voice.
I love her so much! I heard this tune in my sleep on the radio & jumped up, tagged it on my iPhone, finish listening to it, & & purchased it b4 it went off the radio! That's how much she effects my heart! I ❤her to pieces!
I love her rendition to this song. Wish they would play it more on the radio! I hate others don't enjoy it like I do. and I know Tyrese was honored that she wanted to re-do one of his song
what a combination....sultry and masculine....Tyrese did that...I was just scrolling music videos and ran across this gem. Anita Baker is a magnificent singer. I hope to meet her some day just to give her flowers!! Very nice post
Anita baker DETROIT'S only queen of music never turned on the city been there thru the good and bad an she is a amazing singer from chapter 8 till now the greatest female singer of my generation period hands down
Ferdinand Hibbler I feel the same way bruh, she stayed here, Re-Re washere alot too I know her hubby but she's silent, Anita is the Queen of the D, hands down and my #1 Female voice of all time along with Luther being the male counterpart, Peeps don't know about Chapter 8 with her future producer Michael Powell. She reps the D well.
