In another era, she could have been a super star. So beautiful, and that VOICE!

Beautiful. It's funny how the female combo sings the phrase "Blue Doll" strictly in quarter time and without any tonal swerves. While Anita melts our hearts with her embellishments.

I was born too late, my Lord Anita was so beautiful even just singing for the camera. Her voice and talent clear to see, and she dressed modestly and appropriately. I am pleased she was the featured singer in this color video!!!!

"Blue Boy" is a song written by Boudleaux Bryant, sung by Jim Reeves, and released on the RCA Victor label. In July 1958, it peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's country and western jockey chart.[2] It spent 22 weeks on the charts and was also ranked No. 10 on Billboard's 1958 year-end country and western chart.[2][3] On the Hot 100, "Blue Boy" peaked at No. 45.[4] The song was originally recorded by Anita Carter as "Blue Doll" [5] b/w "Go Away Johnnie" on Cadence 1333, released August, 1957.[6] The single did not chart.

I don't know how June was more famous than Anita, she had the prettiest voice of any country artist back then and today plus she had the beauty to go with it. June couldn't hold a light for Anita to go by. June luck was because she married Johnny. She always tried to be funny and to me it always sounded stupid.

I definitely agree about about Anita, she was so special and talented many ways, but June was also beautiful in her own way.

That's unfair to June saying her cut up antics were stupid. She was a funny lady. I agree that Anita was a better singer and indeed she was beautiful, but don't knock June carter.

I never understood like some of the others why Anita never became more famous. It also irritates me that June got the credit for writing Ring Of Fire when it was Anita who wrote the song and originally recorded it

Incorrect. June co-wrote it but not with Anita. Anita was given the song but it sort of flopped. Than Johnny Cash had ago at it and the rest is as they say...
@gilberthornick6924
@gilberthornick6924 4 месяца назад
@mvl6827 wrong. Anita originally wrote the song then June another guy rewrote it then handed it to Johnny. Try listening to the original by Anita Carter

@mvl6827 Harlen Howard was the guy who co wrote it when they changed the song ever so slightly

One of the best if not the best. She should have had a lot of hits. She has her voice with Johnny Cash and it's so beautiful it sends chills on the back of your neck almost haunting. In "let him roll and another man done gone and long black veil with Johnny Cash and poison red berries and sweet memories among so many more.
