I just put mine onto my stand which has a magnetic usb c cable attached to it. Works pretty well and is roughly $10 to $22 depending on if you go with a magnetic cable that can transmit data. Or you can get a pair of eneloop batteries and never look back again 😉. Seems like that would be an issue for anyone that uses controller grips because it seems to be a tight fit when docked, and also you would probably have to cut out the hole on the grips to accommodate the battery pins.

I've been using Eneloops batteries for years. They last a hell of a long time and hold their charge like no one else. Neat product for a convenient way to store/display and charge your Quest 2. But rechargeable batteries are a thing. So the argument on saving money on batteries does not really work. Always easy to pop in a freshly charged non-proprietary AA if you suddenly find yourself running low on batteries. I am personally not going to get this because it will not work with Mamut grips - loved them on my Quest v1. But it is a cool product and had me intrigued.

This device will not pay for itself unless you use it for 6.8 or more years with average use. Let me explain. The controller batteries last a decent amount of time @about 1.5 months for me using the quest about 4 to 5 times per week with each session lasting about 2 hours. So about 60 hours over a 1.5 month period. @a price of $0.68 per AA (Duracell) battery or $1.36 per swap you’ll be spending $10.88 per year on batteries. If you kept the quest for 3 years the cost would be $32.64. Also if you want a magnetic charger for your quest those can be had for $8-$13 or so. So this anker device cost $87. To reach the cost of this anker product you’d have to be using your quest 2 for 6.8 years. [87-$13 (magnetic charger]= $74/$10.88 (amt. of money spent on batteries per year) = 6.8 years. No this product will not pay for itself in batteries unless you have the quest for more than 6.8 years which I doubt most people will. But by then you’ll probably need to replace the lithium batteries and so the time to break even increases. This isn’t a good by especially when you consider the fact that you can’t use grips. Even if the battery life was half of what I’m getting it’d still take about 3.5 years to break even and by then there’ll probably be a quest 3 or quest 4. If you’re dedicated to the quest 2 and can see yourself using this for 7+ years then buy it, but otherwise financially this doesn’t make sense and is inconvenient for the majority of players who use grips. If you have a frankenquest or an elite battery strap be prepared to prop up the back end of the strap or else the device will fall out of the dock

I have one of these docking stations and I have only found one flaw. The magnetic plug-in that goes into the headset no matter which cord I buy I am on the road without the base station no cord will attach because it’s similar polls on the magnets. So I have to pull the magnetic USB-C connection out every time I have to charge it away from the base station. I contacted the company they said they don’t even have those parts so if I lose that plug-in I have to send the whole unit back in. I just need to find another cable that the magnet Will actually stick to

The battery seems never to lose its power. So it won't be an issue.

Kinda random, but I used to have the original quest. I upgraded to the quest 2 and so worth it. I do wish the did away with the batteries though.

I wish I could use something like that, but about half the time I am using my Quest to play Squadrons on my PC, so I need the link cable. I would almost certainly end up losing that charging interface thing.

Miss a way to connect a link câble or an external battery. You have to remove the little thingy each time :)

Good point. John, can you tell us if plugging the headset up magnetically can also charge the battery pack if u place the headset on the charger stand? Thank you again.

I don't see this being actually really cost effective or that much useful. I play with our new Quest 2 for a few days straight and the controller batteries are still at 100%. Considering that this is why you'd buy this charging station for essentially, and that batteries are not that expensive, not sure it's worth it. For sure, I also live in Canada and this thing is going to retail for about 150$ (i guess), if it's even available.
