Great review! A few CONS worth mentioning. No simultaneous AC and DC charging. The 60V solar input limitation makes the 1000watt input difficult to achieve and nearly impossible to overpanel. The power saving mode can't be fully disabled. If the unit doesn't "sense" something plugged into it, it will shut off the inverter after a period of time. Those minor issues aside, I think the 767 is the "sweet spot" for power and portability. Hoping to see a follow up review of you powering your RV AC with a softstart.
I like Anker products and how they are really trying to get into the larger power stations. But unfortunately the unit falls short of many things mentioned. Low input voltage for solar, no dual charging and more. To say it even close to a ECOFLOW delta pro would be just silly. The power out and input voltage are one of the best qualities. It can fire up both AC units in my 5th wheel with no soft starts. Now I don’t recommend that as it’s a sure way to burn it up prematurely I would think. But impressive non the less. How ever soft starts are on the bench ready to go in, if the weather ever breaks. 🙄
Could you not use a set of XT60 Connector Male/Female Plug Dust Caps to plug the unused ports on the solar on their XT60 "splitter" to avoid shocks and have a secondary benefit of prevent dust and moisture from getting into the unused ports???? Nice review!!!
First, thank you for this review. I was wondering if you could help me answering a few questions to see if this device would be the best for my needs. Can you use the device (have a load) while charging the device via solar? If you are able to and assuming is perfectly sunny, if the device load is exactly the same as the wattage coming from the solar panels you can theoretically run it forever. Is that assumption correct? Can you connect a 767 to an additional 767 to double up or is it just able to connect to an expansion battery? Could I buy a third party solar cable that is longer so I can charge it while the device is separated from the panels?
Hello. First question is yes, theoretically that is correct. 2nd - no. You can only expand the unit with the expansion batteries. 3rd, yes - you can use an aftermarket solar cable with no issues.
Brian, Wondering if you can test what happens if using this as a UPS and the power goes out, then the battery totally drains. Does the unit auto power back up when the power comes back on? Imagine using this on a fridge, and being gone for a couple days, power going out, battery depleting, we would want to make sure the UPS auto powers the fridge back on as the "shore power" comes back on. Would be a great test to add to future UPS power station reviews, as I am not aware of one that does this, which really hampers the UPS feature imho.
It would turn back on once grid power is restored. Think of it just like charging the battery when it’s depleted. You plug it into an ac outlet and it begins to charge. So, if using as a UPS and the power goes down and the battery gets depleted then as soon as power is restored it would begin to charge the battery and run the appliance. If you have this set to charge at 1000 watts and your appliance uses 500 watts, in reality you will only be charging the power station at 500 watts. Hope that makes sense
@@GearGadgetReviews that’s great to hear. As mentioned above other brands don’t do this and it always felt incomplete for a UPS to not have this functionality. Keep it up Brian.
Newbie question about the XT60 connector supplied by Anker. I need to know which side of the connector is positive and which is negative. One side of the connector is rounded and the other is square. Which is which? I am getting the Q-cells panel delivered on Thursday and want to try it out. I need to buy the adapter cable or make one up....MC-4 to XT-60. Thoughts? What did you do?
Too bad it only could take one battery I would like it if you could take six batteries or eight batteries and if you can combine it with another one then it'll probably a pretty decent generator but of course if I could put four of them together then it probably a perfect unit.
Great review, thanks! I'm sure others have mentioned it by now, but they've made a lot of firmware updates and these will run most RV air conditioners now. It wasn't a power issue, they just detected the way those ACs pull power and "decided" not to run them. I use my 767 all the time for my class C and for my tractor services business to run power tools. It's an amazing device to have for sure.
This thing is cool but unfortuanlty a few things are keeping me from choosing it as my upgrade from a AC200P. It appears you can only use 1 expansion battery, and they can't be used as is like the bluetti batterys- if the main unit goes down you are dead in the water. The solar input is limited to 60v, thats really lame- most panels are around 21- 24v so you cant do a 3S. Hopefully their next larger offering has what I am looking for.
Any suggestions on how to use the 767 as a conversion van electrical system? The biggest issue being the 12v 10amp dc sockets. How can you use the 767 to power a 12v 30map fuse box to run your 12v rv systems like Fridge, lights and fans. By the way I don't have solar yet and my not. I'll be recharging while driving or extension cord AC120 charge
you hit it on the head. This size power station with no high output 12v is just useless in a van/overland build. I run my entire rig off the Bluetti 12v, 25A ouput.
Can you elaborate on why an appliance over 1400w won't run in "UPS" mode? If the F2000 can handle 2400w normally, why do you claim it can't do so if plugged into the grid?
@@GearGadgetReviews Ah ok I understand. Since the max current from the household outlet into the recharge port of the F2000 is likely 15 amps (1800 watts) you would start draining the battery if you put too much load on it. Keeping the load wattage at 1440 ensures that won't happen.
Hi Brian, great review. I have a house full Anker products from cables to speakers and I couldn’t be happier with the quality and performance. I must add that I had a few failures and there customer service is SUPERLATIVE, had a new item with no questions asked. I’m seriously considering pulling the trigger on this unit, thanks again for great content and an unbiased review. Kiss Piggy for us !!!
I believe the firmware needs to be V1.2.2 to run the AC units with no issues. Anker has now resolved this problem. At the time of this video I noticed the firmware you were on was the older v1.1.7.
Can you use the unit to power a refrigerator and then when the battery gets low run a gas generator to charge the battery (while the battery continues to power the refrigerator?)
my anker 757 stopped working after less than a year owning it - now its zero charge and wont charge. very light use - all these specs and features are useless if the unit stops working.
My 767 is fully charged, it’s been (2 days) and still has not started charging the expansion pack. 🤷♂️ all firmware 1&2 has been updated. Any advice, besides sending it back and getting two ecoflows. 😂. Your advice is greatly appreciated.
I purchased my 767 from Anker for only $1,599. on May 28, 2023, and have it working. My wife especially loves it because she can run her 1600-Watt hair dryer with it on camping trips. This power unit is fantastic. I am glad I chose it.
Pecron . I have a few ecoflow and bluetti. Pecron is going to fit most needs. No I don't have one yet but it's the best value with great customer support based on yt reviews. My mind is set on a pecron 2000 lfp unless any of the top brands can change my mind. In this world most of these prices like this anker is not justified.
I purchased the powerhouse 767 with the extra battery and the extra battery is not charging. I have been using the system for less than 2 weeks and it's a complete fail. On Sunday, March 24, I update the firmware and the extra battery started to charge but today March 27, it stopped just like before. Now I have reached out to customer support but that's useless. They asked for my shipping address, invoice to show proof of purchase, serial number and a video with the issue. I sent all this on Sunday and today they asked for the same information. Anker, this is bad customer service. I was told in one of the emails to use DC to power the battery and then switch to solar. I can't do that since I only use solar. The video I sent showed that the solar panels and cable are working since I connect them to another battery and it was charging. Anyone, someone, what else can be done?
I own a 767 and two LiFePO4 100A batteries. I would like to add these batteries to supply power to 767 via the solar input. Anker says that will work. Also, I can connect the DC Output to the batteries is Parallel to recharge them. The other recharge options (1) Connect batteries to truck DC batteries in parallel and let the engine recharge. The new batteries are smart and the alternators(2) are smart as well. (2) Use 767 DC out to charge the 100ah batteries. (3) Sell LiFePO4 batteries and add Anker batteries. Least desirable option. What you say?
The EcoFlow DELTA Pro is a 3.6kW portable power station that is able to be expanded all the way up to 25kWh and has a standard battery capacity of 3,600Wh.
like the ring cameras can be hacked into and today's cars can be hacked and taken over by nefarious people, can this power station also be hacked? i want an un-hackable power station.
Great review! Can you charge and discharge at the some time! AC! I like it to run all day a few things in the house whilst charging Solar and then top it up whilst a sleep on a timer on cheap night electricity!
Thanks for the review. 2 questions: Did you try to run your AC with the expansion battery attached or would that not have made any difference. Also, do you know if you have to have the expansion battery connected to the 767 in order to charge it using solar or is the expansion battery able to be charged by solar while not attached to the 767? Again thanks for the review. You were a big help in me making the decision to get the 767....that and Amazon Prime sales. 👽✌️
I did, and did not make a difference. Attaching the battery does not increase the inverter output, just the capacity. And, you have to use the main unit to charge the expansion battery with a/c or solar.
@@GearGadgetReviews thanks for the reply. I did some additional searching and it appears that the solution to "most" AC issues can be resolved with a soft start device. Seems that initial surge of power required for AC units is beyond what the 767 (and most other external batteries) can put out. By adding a soft start device it will work.
How does it do with a window AC? Live in South FL. Running a 6000 to 8000 btu window AC unit during a power outage is going to be critical. My wife has a medical condition that requires AC - so the ability to run at least one AC unit is important.
You might need a bigger unit.. I'm also looking for something that does this too for my senior aunt. I'm guessing it could run a small window unit but only for a couple hours, if it isn't sunny. If you have access to a basement it might help for emergency power outages. If it is humid, a dehumidifier could help.
Thanks, I was getting ready to pull the trigger on an EcoFlow and your review and a few others have stopped me in my tracks. Leaning this way now. Thanks for the great review.
I bought one of these, and thought that if I installed a softstart on my 13,500 btu rv a/c it would run it. It doesn’t. While it’s not a deal breaker, I am very disappointed.
I too have a 13.5BTU and I found if I start the ac on low mode and NOT max cold this will start it. Slowly make the temperature settings colder and then increase your fan. At least that method works for me on my RV unit.
Now that's how a product video should go! Kudos and keep up the great work. Also thank you for all of the testing on the Solix F2000 and battery expansion.
Good video! I am planning on ordering one with the solar panels for emergencies. Hurricanes in Florida. I dislike gas powered generators. Don't like the noise and exhaust fumes.
Great video! Home backup power is crucial for outdoor enthusiasts like us. Have you checked out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It has an impressive 5kWh capacity, fast recharging, and a waterproof design. Plus, it's built tough with a mecha design. Definitely worth considering for your outdoor adventures and family time!
Can you check if the units you have all four NEMA 5-20R receptacles (the 4 AC plugs) on the front of my unit were mis-wired, and that hot and neutral are swapped?
Always looking to see if building your own unit with AGM, deep cycle, or lithium battery with quality inverter/cabling is less expensive. Ankur batteries for personal devices have always been quality.
Really good interview but I have both products. I have anchor products with the power banks and i've trusted anchor for years and I also have ecoflow. From my background as a engineer with technology I see gan as being good and being bad. But with my eclflow I don't see a major difference here. I see some small things that are not deal breakers. Anker is really a great product and so is ecoflow. I don't like the game factor because it puts out lower voltage which in turn gives me less productivity or power? Or heat or air coming out of the unit that i'm using. I haven't studied the technology that anchor uses but from what I do know is. I probably wouldn't buy this unit until they change it if they ever do. I'll continue to stick with my ecoflow product, continue to use ankers power banks.
Thank you for the best review of both the 767 and the expansion battery I have watched. Waiting on the expansion battery to arrive. I have 2 of the 200W panels. Debating on the value of purchasing 3 additional 200W panels (it only allows 1000W input.) Subscribed. Nicely done sir!
I am looking for a generator to mainly power a Sub Zero refrigerator inside and another refrigerator and stand up freezer in the garage during power outages for longer periods of time. It would be nice to be able to power an electric stovetop and microwave as well. My house has a heat pump and read they take a lot of power to run. So, it probably wouldn’t work for that. Do you think a unit this size would be sufficient, not enough, or overkill?
Real great review, Well detailed, informative Thanks for the time put into this. First time I have watched your channel, mill be looking for more of these quality reviews.
One question where do u rate the ecoflow delta pro in terms of large power stations because this unit seems to be way less capable in sizing compared to the delta pro? Just trying to get a feel for the range?
Brian Great review simply explained a must with the solar panels still waiting for delivery on panels ! Could you answer what would be a safe replacement for the solar extension or just waterproof tape on solar ports your not using thanks again
I didn’t test the extreme surge like on a table saw, but in reality, a perfectly clean pure sine wave is not important on machinery like that. But it did have a clean sine wave running (if I remember correctly) around 1800 watts
Thanks for nice review. Can you include an extended UPS feature testing? The things to consider are: 1) Can it run 24/7 in UPS mode? 2) What is the power drain (vampire current) of device when the battery is fully charged (it will be in this mode for 99.9% of time). Every 1Watt is 9kW*hour/year bill. Conventional UPS has something like 20-30W of self consumption. These characteristics are also important features for UPS.
The Anker Tech support answered that it can work 24/7 as UPS and that self-consumption is 20W, comparable with conventional low-cost line-interactive UPS with 1200VA
I need to charge my electric wheelchair not sure which anker power station i need to purchase. can you please help explain what to look for when buying a power station for this purpose.
Thank you for the video. My application is for single night stays; 4 hours or less travel time to a given location, run an 1800 watt 2 burner induction cooktop (most likely not at full power) for a quick dinner, lighting and phone charging until bed time, possibly a 400 watt space heater or electric blanket (not all night) then finish with a quick breakfast with the same 1800 watt 2 burner induction cooktop (most likely not at full power), and finally, the 4 hours or less travel back home. Of all the plethora of power stations available I am really liking the 767; however, I currently do not have means to charge the 767 to and from and I think the 12v dc adapter may be a bit deficient given the the short drive time in my scenario. 2 Questions: When you tested the inverter with the heaters and heat gun did was the 767 plugged into AC power or was it free standing? In your opinion, do you think the 767 is suitable for my application (trip turn around time would be within 24 hours?
Hi David. The unit was not plugged into my home power when running the ac inverter. It was free standing. And, in my opinion, I think this power station would do fine given your requirements, but it’s very subjective on how long the cooktop is running, how long the heated blanket is plugged in….etc. but, I do think this would handle it perfectly.
@@GearGadgetReviews Thank you Brian for the super quick reply, much appreciated. Understood, with respect to usage subjectivity. I am trying to come up with a creative, yet safe solution to increase charging speed "while driving" via converter/inverter without installing a "battery power bank." I have seen a few methods but not very confident they are, more or less safe. I know that what I am referring to is Off-the-Grid engineering and completely at my own risk but it seems purpose defeating to have a battery bank on board to charge a power station. My trips are not long enough to utilize solar recharging. Then again, I just may need to rethink lengthening the duration of my trips🤔. 🤣 Thank a bunch, you have gained a new subscriber!
@@GearGadgetReviews That is disappointing! Great review! Was hoping this would be my go to unit. Not too happy with the noise and (minor) limitations of the Ecoflow Delta Pro. Do you have a better suggestion for whole home 240v main panel tie-in for backup?
Had an ad pop up for this on Twitter today, wondered if anyone had reviewed it, found yours. Thank you, all my questions were answered. I'd much rather judge a product by real-world reviews than a manufacturer's specs and features presentation. This is going on my wish list.
Brian have you you ever used the reset button on the 767 and how do you use it everything off any procedure ? my 767 is new 3 weeks now it chargers starting at high speed works great then dwindles down to 25 watts
Thanks for your research and testing on items. It is very helpful to us that are looking for them. I hope it gets a little warmer for you soon. I was recently in East TN and my Hawaiian thermostat did not like the 30 degree weather! Love the new camper also.
It’s probably pretty easy to harden this against emp, all component are contained within the box, you can do faraday cage, then surge protectors on inbound and outbound connections
