@@okridlen Wait it's mono? Damn. I've never bought a mono boombox, so I can't tell if it's that big of a problem.. considering I don't sit and listen to it in front of me, but hike or jog with one, maybe it's less important.

same opinion bass is great on charge 5 on lower volumes till 75, but 75 up where the motion + changes and becoming a beast..nice review at all!!:)

if budget isn't an issues i would personally go with charge 5 otherwise motion+ is decent BT speaker

Get the Soundcore Motion Boom! It is amazing for the price. I have both the Boom and the Plus and bought and returned the Charge 5. Sound preference is subjective, but for me, the Soundcore Morion Boom was the champion here.

Charge 5 is great for outdoor used or sport activity because it's rugged and tough speaker ip67 but if you just wanted best sound go for motion +, it's hard to beat for the lower price with great sound quality than charge 5 even for other brand speakers.

I just bought the charge 5 4 days ago on sale for 147$ after tax, definitely worth it. I'm very picky when it comes to audio and any small disturbance in the sound will piss me off lol. I will tell you this, with the previous charge (1, 2, 3, 4,) they had the normal driver controlling the highs and mids, and of course the passive radiators for the low end, now with the charge 5 you have a tweeter for the high end, the normal driver for the mids, and the passives for the low . I would say it's pretty well balanced, only complaint I have is at higher volumes that damn tweeter gets so loud it drowns out the bass a little bit if there is too much going on in a song lol, I mostly listen to metal so I hear guitars in every song I listen to, so to answer your question? Yes they come through very clear, sounds really good actually, I was pretty impressed. I was playing bleak by opeth and when the chorus hit the voices sounded clear and the guitars came through nicely, some songs sound better than others on the speaker but for the most part it sounds pretty good actually, it has nice instrument separation as well. Also, another thing to note, all the jbl speakers I've had in the past I've returned because I could always hear a faint crackle, same is the case with this one....but. I took a close listen and it's not the speakers fault, the speaker just has a decent range and picks up bad mixing from time to time, or when it's loud (I was playing at max volume) I thought it was crackling but I put my ear to it and it was actually just a cymbal that was apart of the song for some background lol. So in conclusion, it's built well, has that premium feel and look to it, it sounds great, has great battery life, good water and dust proof rating, you can use it as a power bank, and it has type c so it will charge a lot quicker. So in my eyes? Solid 8.75/10 . Definitely worth it, worth 180? Ehhh , if I had that money to blow all the time? Yes, if not? Walmart has them on sale for 150 which I can gladly warrant that price tag, best of luck👍

Acoustics depends on your room, not of the speaker itself. And bass is the weak point of Motion+, it is a 60hz speaker and it's the only point Charge 5 have an advantage over it.

charge 5 is frequency range is 65 to 20 kHz, i personally think that JBL is tuned up perfectly

Jbl is the weakEst battery of all brand name.. i tried some of jbl, waste money.. i didt support jbl anymore..

@@nareshkeswani80 Yep. I hope they will release a Motion+ 2 someday. I don't know, the soundstage and definition in mids and highs (when using my Custom EQ, not BassUp) is better I think. Though JBL did a great move with it's Charge 5 by adding a tweeter, way better clarity than Charge 4, which was quite bad in my opinion. No doubt it's the best Charge ever, with Charge 3 being a close second.

@@ThibautMahringer I just got into the market for a new speaker about 2 weeks before the Charge 5 release in the US. Seen a lot of comparison videos like this that put the Motion + slightly ahead for the value. But then I see it's almost a 2 year old speaker. I would hope like you said, that a new model comes out soon because it is becoming slightly dated. I'm a little afraid to get a Motion + now only for a new version to get announced later this year.

He said that motion plus bass only good at high volume. If u listening at 20% low volume bass are under power. The reason is motion plus use cheap / under power amp in order to save cost. I am audiophile so i choose JBL Charge 5

Soundcore Motion Plus is 30W and Charge 5 40W

Both are 30W, Charge 5 is 40W in AC, but it's only a 2db difference between AC and battery.

There are lacks in stereo mode trhough bluetooth between the speakers. You will need to use te aux port in the main speaker to avoid it.

JBL charge 5 is better than soundcore motion+ if we are speaking about bass. But i dont like strong bass and expensive speaker so I bought the Soundcore motion+.

@@nareshkeswani80 You didn't bother to download the soundcore app and adjust the eq to make it louder and better. Go watch Allan Ross comparison where the motion+ db are higuer than the charge5. You have to adjust the eq to wake up the beast
