First off, holy crap, this song kicked ass, and indeed, shout out to alan for the recommendation. when the pop-like blink 182 style chorus kicked in, i had mixed feelings to, if this was a wise choice, but how the hell are artists supposed to make new sounding songs nowadays, without sounding like everything else and perhaps because of that style choice, the heavy parts just became even heavier and ruthless;y amazing........last part felt more fitting blending the various syles together, but whatever right? it did kick ass and enjoyed it very much, the "not seeing it coming" is what added to the whole being just great. thx again steve for the reaction, cya on the next one
Yeah, I definitely had a moment or two initially when I thought “ooh that’s a choice, I’m not sure” but I think it all totally worked. Really interesting and satisfying blend for me.
@@SteveOGRock sometimes ya need to give some ideas a chance and grow into it, with that said i forgot to mention that i wonder if they can pull this off live......nuff said hehe
They were also new to me, but that was an instant hit! They have a new album out in 'spring' - rather meaningless on a global platform - but I'm guessing it's the European spring - so hopefully more to come before that. Yes, Holy Wolf is every bit as good, and worth a listen. Thanks for picking this one up so quickly Steve - loved your break down / analysis.
There is one song they have called "the legend of charles the giant", it sound very metalcore but dont have video clip just part of tracks of their album.
Great Song. Listen to them since their Havana Cover and the collab with Diego teksuo. So sad they canceled the Concert near me During covid. Thank you for the amazing reaction 😉 Btw you should Link this Channel in your Second Channel. Maybe WE can Welcome new heavy music Fans from there 😀
That was an above average song. Interesting enough, that I'd like to hear more from them. And is it me, or were the vocals too low in the mix? Also, go Eagles!
Interesting. I think you’re right that they are lower in the mix than typical but I didn’t find it to be an issue. I liked where the vocals sat here, it let the music hit with more punch around it.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm .... I do not know. Drummer kills it! And so seems someone else also have done. Noisy. Too much for my poor brain that tries to avoid traffic noise and other disturbing sounds. And the screaming sounds fake. Sorry, but it does. But .... impressive drummer. Could listen to a drum track of this. I like heavy and I like gutturals and screams, but I want some kind of musicality. I do not think I got it. Or, at least no musicality I liked.
We can assure you that the screams are totally real, we listen to them every day at the rehearsals 😂. Stay tuned for our new song coming out in a few weeks, a quieter and calmer one
@@AnkorOfficial - I have heard lots of screams, both live and in music videos. Both guttural and high pitched. When doing the scream there are several things you can do to improve the result. You can hold the mike close and at certain angles, have well chosen mike, doing some high frequency filtering or even distortion, clipping and layering. I think this sounded like distorted and high frequency filtered. Here is another example. Mayo in Nemophila has a very nice scream (and also raspy voice). I really like it. But, in one of their more popular MV (Dissension) they have added distortion and high frequency filtering. A bit too much for my taste. Still sounds good, but would have been better without. Regarding calm or not. It does not have to be calm. I just want to feel it is melodic. I did not like what I heard. But sure, it might be a matter of the song and not the group. So, why not give it another try?
Another example. The famous Pisces by Jinjer. It is a totally wonderfully produced live studio movie. It sounds sooo good. The instruments, the soft singing and the harsh singing, all is totally fantastic. I have listened to several other songs by Jinjer. They are very good, but nothing come even close to how good Pisces sounds. So, why is that? It is because there have been a tremendous work to improve the movie. Both sound and image. They have even added some layering, which really makes it doubtful to call it live. But most is live, so that is fine. In this case you have not made the scream higher pitch and distorted, but being more warm and full.
