Having spent years as a touring musician in a few different bands I now review the newest and best music that the rock universe has to offer!
On this channel you'll find realtime reaction commentary and reviews of rock music I'm hearing for the first time, interviews with musicians and other industry professionals, some drum covers, and other rock-related content.
Hey, totally agree with your review of Download, was there with my 12 year old daughter for her first festival, the crush for Wheatus was insane :) Was great that they played 'Teenage Dirtbag' as port of BFS's set, which made her weekend. They definitely need to do something about the toilets for next year. We saw a few different acts to you, Kerry King was pretty slick, as was Tom Morello and we really enjoyed Corey Taylor, he was only at about 85% as he'd been really unwell and cancelled 2 festival slots before dragging his ass along...
BRKN LOVE is another band that reminds me a bit of Dead Poet Society, if you are interested in checking them out I recommend “Papercuts” as number one (I have been obsessed with this song for months) as well as “Toxic Twin” and “Like a Drug”.
Steve, it’s always a privilege experiencing an amazing album with you. Listening to wonderful music with the best host makes it all sound better. I truly believe your authentic reactions turn more people onto this music. Your joy is contagious 😊
Steve buddy. You need to stop posting this nonsense. I was at download that weekend and I can say I had a total different opinion to your little sad quiet life. Dude! I'm probably more sad than you for watching one of the most boring pathetic reviews of download. P.s can you actually play them guitars and electronic drums or are they just for show?
My favorite song has turned into are you really ok? Just the sheer care put into that song even though it’s very personal like most strong music it still resonates with so many out there. Then after that is ascensionism, because of the sheer level of hurt in it as well. It’s like both of these songs were made to help the singer and for us to help fix our own issues.
The drummer is on the right of the stage. I had a hard time seeing the bass player. It’s set for the singers on the stage and the band to stand on the sides
The reaction we've all been waiting for 🥰🥰 So glad you reacted to the premiere video hahahaha. Easily top 3 albums for me this year. May just be recency bias, but it's my favourite right now. No skips. Every song is gorgeous. It's emotionally devastating but so upbeat and fun and easy to sing along to. The recent albums have been good, don't get me wrong, but this is the best 'Muri album since Eggy Pocket! Favourite songs so far are Spinnin' You Around, Drunk Enough, and 2016 Cavaliers ❤️❤️
I’m liking these short and sweet albums that are made up of singles. I felt the same about this album as I did with Floya’s debut album Yume. Kind of brings a pop hit sense to these rock/metal origin artists who deserve the time of day in a world of short span attention
I’ve actually just checked that Floya record out too! That’ll be available on my Patreon page soon, and possibly will be posting that on the main channel in a month.
Absolutely honoured to have you stop by! You make truly wonderful music. It’s pure sonic joy for me. Thank you 🫂 So stoked to check out the live set at the O2 Arena in London later this year! 🤘🏻
I can’t decide between this and boundaries. So I’ll say both. Boundaries my heavy AOTY this for every other type of music. This is a masterpiece tho and should be all over the radio.
I wish Johnny wouldn’t have released the songs early I’d rather have the full album, but being a 80s kid I’m from the “ listen to the full album” so it does make the releases that much better, drunk enough came out for less than a day some got to hear it and a lot didn’t I got to hear it once then waited all these months for it to come back, this is my favorite album since eggy pocket easily , this album could be best album of 2024 for sure, you didn’t hesitate to do this video, and I’m glad you did it, I’ve had this album on repeat for 16 hrs lol straight through you hits me hard same as 2016 cavs, and obviously drunk enough, that one literally tears me up, going through a big drinking problem right now, and being from FL, 2016 cavs hits me in the feels once I read the lyrics, when he says “ paper thin” on spinning you around it reminds me of old skool Johnny vocals he has that little emo to his voice, “Miss me” is just to calm and beautiful, Johnny can’t miss “ hell was real, “ that Florida smile, I knew I had to let you go cuz hell was real we felt it in Ohio” 😢
I've legitimately listened to this album 7 or 8 times today. I was not expecting to like 2016 Cavaliers or Straight Through You as much as I do. Also, Gabi Rose is killer on the sax.
this is the closest thing to a perfect record i think i may have ever heard. every single track on this record is a masterpiece. Bilmuri is just moving on a whole other level right now.
This is my AOTY I liked bilmuri before the boutta cashew single last year starting this run but this, this is something special everything is so catchy and creativity and stuff. Johnny really got a masterpiece. I think I’ve played this album about 10 times today catch something every listen honestly. And that’s something I felt with Token and invent animate and that’s a lot to say. Great reaction!
Hahaha would’ve been sick to meet you, I was on stage for slaughter to prevail and Alex is the nicest guy, he is so innocent he was like trying to stay out of the way of our crew.
I feel Tesseract vibe😌 But here the contrast between core and ambient parts, extreme and clean vocals is definitely higher and more interesting. Although I'm not a fan of such clean vocals. And I didn’t really listen to them, but they seemed to play something heavier and more monotonous, and as I understand it, they have a new vocalist and they are adapting to him. upd. Sorry, I confused them with another band🙃
This thing just kills in every sense…it’s close to the top of my AOTY right now for sure. Eidola might take the cake there AND they’re releasing another one in the fall 😮😂 but this hits all the right spots
