Like they said it's like a well written novel taken in it's entirety. Which is more than just a concept album. Over at Tauri's I wrote a short essay but I'll try to be brief. At the beginning of a story you just have to pitch a convincing idea, interesting idea. Then you develop it through the story, just has to make sense. But a lot of artists, writers, storytellers blow it at the end. It's got to be satisfying (or frustrating if that's your point) and there has to be a point. Ankor gets that, they could make movies, write fiction. And it's still metal. Great reaction!
